Lindsay Lohan is still holed up at her outdoorsy Utah rehab, Cirque Lodge, but as usual the trouble follows her even when she's laying low. At least this time her trust isn't being publicly betrayed (for once), rather one of the people involved in her DUI car chase is suing LL for emotional damages. Tracie Rice, who was in the car with Lindsay's former assistant and her mother being chased by Lohan, is seeking an unspecified amount of money for, among other things, medical bills to cover emotional distress. She said LL:
"put me through one of the most frightening experiences of my life...What Miss Lohan did that night was extremely dangerous and reprehensible. Someone could easily have been killed or seriously hurt because of her irresponsible decisions that evening."
Yikes! Suing seems a little ridiculous, but I can't say it wouldn't be terrifying to be chased down by an angry LL. Hopefully soon she'll be healthy and ready to face any of her legal consequences so she can put this all behind her.

Aren't those guys going to sue her too? I would not want to be her...what a mess!
1This person is Obviously milking LL for all its worth! im suprised she didnt sue for like a chipped finger nail or something because she had to grab on to a door! *rolls eyes*
But LL put herself in this situation so oh well!!
2Is this person serious? What's next? Suing someone for a broken finger nail. Please.
3I wouldn't underestimate the fear that can be engendered by a reckless driver. However, how can the damages be proved? Psychiatric treatment? But LL has deep pockets so that's why she's being sued.
4lilflowa, I didn't see your comment before I posted, but you're so right!
5Dont care, LL should know all of her actions will cost her in the end whether it be money wise or in another way.
6I think LL should pay for the emotional damages she caused to the people she chased. A car can be a deadly weapon.
7ditto musiclvr and daizyk, LL has way too much money, and I'd like to sue her for being obnoxious!!
8OMG!! I can't stand LiLo but this is ridiculous! People will sure for anything in America.
9Oh, please!
10Lohan is a mess, but this is just dumb. People will sue for anything. Maybe I should sue Ms. Rice for the emotional damage that ensued after I read her obvious money grabbing claim. "You're honor, Ms. Rice's obvious prostitution of her own dignity has conceded in my inability to work and earn a living. I am asking for an unspecified amount, equal to whatever Ms. Rice's unspecified amount she's asking for from Ms. Lohan."
11I can see where you would be peev'd if you risked your life and ran red lights because you thought a crazy person was chasing you. I don't know about suing, but LL did a really, really awful thing.
12Guess the saying: MORE MONEY, MORE PROBLEMS is true.
13It is true GloWorm an old lady sued McDonalds once because she burnt her hand when she spilled coffee on it. That is why it now says caution and says it is hot. She won the case and got money for it which is so stupid because it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know coffee is hot.
14DRAMA!!!
15LMAO pud3333!!!!!! Let's all join together and sue Ms. Rice.
16it's kind of weird how those guys can let lindsay take over their car like that. they're two guys against one girl. doesn't that seem kind of strange?
17i don't think this is out of line at all. for the length of that car chase they thought she was someone intent on doing them bodily harm. the driver of the car this young woman was in was on the phone to 911 and was borderline hysterical, they were in fear for their lives and i think reasonably so. everything is coming down on ll now, and it's long over due. what do you suppose miss lohan would do if the situation were reversed, turn the other cheek? i don't think so.
18LOL.
19I remember that case musiclvr224. Remember the kids that sued McDs for making them fat? I wish people would stop trying to make easy money off of others and work hard for it instead. Oh heck! Who am I kidding?!?! It's America!
20She deserves to get sued.
21Frankly I'm tired of these young Hollywood heffas getting away with everything.
She made the bed, NOW LAY IN IT!!
...i hope those guys sue her too!
...and my momma...yeah my momma suing too!
Due to emotional stress...relating to the incident, in passing it on to friends...she broke her nail...and that's gonna cost u LOHAN!!!
I don't think the suit is ridiculous at all. I saw an interview with the boys in the car with Lohan and they said she was drinving 100mph almost the whole time. She could have killed someone.
22I remember that case also GloWorm....stupid kids lol
23Maybe she should've just punched LiLo. I would've. LOL kidding kidding.
24Maybe she should've just punched LiLo. I would've. LOL kidding kidding.
25I've seen people on the road drive that fast before and what am I to do? Move out the way, that's what! Almost anyone can kill someone on the road. Women by doing their makeup and driving. Men by just being aggressive drivers. I'm not justifying LiLo cause franctly, she's a spoiled rich idiot! I just think suing someone for that is irrelevant. The guys should sue for defamation. Everyone clearly knows LiLo was the driver.
26she said things very true
27I would sue. That's totally traumatizing. Think about it, you are being chased by a crazy person, known for being constantly wasted and nutty. Add to that your daughter just quit, so crazy is mad too.
We'll see if it's frivolous when we hear how much she is suing for. If $3 mil, you know it's just for cash.
28Ok everyone mentions that McDonalds case and complains, but if you actually read the details of the case the woman who was burned had 3rd degree burns all over her "woman parts," so much so that when her pants came off her skin came with them.
The judgment was so large in that case because McDonalds admitted that they kept their coffee that hot because it was easier to pay people off who were burned than to deal with the cost of having to make new pots of coffee all morning because of the taste. The judgment reflected the fact that McDonalds knew the coffee was a danger... think about it, if your child happened to knock over a fresh cup and was severely burned...
Ok I'll get off my soap box, I just get annoyed when everyone complains about that case, that is not quite the same as this chick complaining about the scare LL gave her.
29here we go again!!!
30she still should have been smart enough to be more careful
31Lindsey needs to realize this is a blessing in disguise. She needs to be punished b/c you never know somewhere down the road she can do something worst like either kill herself or kill someone else in an accident. I feel the only way to help this girl is for her to face these consequences, or else she will think she doesn't have to listen to anybody, and keep drinking, driving and doing drugs.
32i was referring to the mcdonalds thing with that last comment just so it made sense lol
33music - - she should have been... who puts a cup of hot coffee between your knees while you're a passenger in a car?
Still though, not the same as the woman afraid of LL in her car.
34Yah no offense with the mc donalds thing thats the ladies stupidity. This lady was more of a victim, b/c if your getting chased down by someone who knows you can get in an accident or something.
35(and her damages were reduced based on her being a percentage at fault for spilling the coffee to begin with)
36Sure this is dangerous but lawsuits are getting out of hand. McDonalds (all of them), Starbucks, parents suing high schools and coaches for potential lost earnings when kids don't make sports teams (I REALLY hope nothing happened with that case), etc, ad nauseum. We're so litigious here that it invalidates the cases that truly could mean something.
37Susanec - I agree... ultimately we as consumers bear the cost, because the cost of a lawsuit or settlement is just factored into the business plan.
38LL made her bed, now let her lay in it.
I have no sympathy for LL. She'll probably either pay her lawyer to go to trials for this, or just settle (either way, she'll spend $$).
39speaking of the poster child for frivolous lawsuits... did anyone see how that DC Judge is suing the dry cleaners for 54 million after they lost his pants?! INSANE.
40Alright, here it is. If you're a passenger in a MOVING vehicle, chances are, ANYONE in their RIGHT mind would NOT place a SCORCHING hot cup of coffee in between their legs. I have no tolerance for stupidity. I'm sorry. With that being said, LiLo is a different kind of stupid (LOL). She (of course) wasn't in her right mind with drugs and alcohol in her system but suing someone for being afraid for your life because you're being chased down by a dumb a$$ is ridiculous. Am I going to sue someone for cutting me off in the freeway? No. Is someone in a police chase going to sue the police for chasing them? No. Am I going to sue curling iron companies if I accidentally burn my forehead to a third degree burn? No. Stupid is, stupid does.
41Soooooo agree with you susanec
42I heard about that one princis11. America has conformed to suing anything for anything. So sad
43Ugh! This is so stupid!! Why do people feel like they can sue anyone for ANYthing?!? Oh right, because there's always some slimy lawyer around to take the case (or push the case on someone by dangling the prospect of money in front of them). It's so sad what our country has come to now. There are people starving in the streets, we see violence on every news broadcast, and we're at freakin WAR and this chick wants to sue over her "emotional distress". Get a life!
44I don't blame them. I don't know if I would go that route personally, but I can see why someone would want to make sure that she didn't walk off scot free while they nursed anxiety for a good long while.
45Ridiculous
46Lindsay Lohan is psychotic.
47Good for her...I don't think it's ridiculous at all.
48its not like she actually has to pay that money... its called insurance. Trust me, she has liability insurance up the wazoo... all that its gonna cost her is a hike in her premium. They all use CHUB anyways
49As Princis11 pointed out, it'll hike up whose premium?
