I know that you guys ALL know who Jay-Z is and if it was not for Foxy, Jay would have never been put on like he was. What was the first HIT single Jay was on???? Yeah, it was 'Ain't No Ni**a' which is a FOXY BROWN song. Nas put Foxy on with 'The Firm', Jay and Foxy started gettin down and Foxy throws her man on a track. This was ALL before Jay even had a record deal with Def Jam to drop his debut album/classic 'Reasonable Doubt' in 1996. Before Fox n Jay hit with 'Ain't No Ni**a' she had already had a hit 'Touch Me Tease Me' with Case and she already was on 'Rock The Bells' with LL. To top it off she dropped Ill Nana when she was still in High School and that CD was one of the most defining CD's of that generation of hip hip. Not to mention she DID NOT EVER have a ghostwriter like so many MC's in the hip hop game did/do (IE: Biggie Smalls wrote lyrics for Lil Kim, that's why 'Hardcore' was so HOT).
So to say she was a 'One Hit Wonder' is WAY OFF the mark, this chick helped bring hip hop to another level. Taking it further then M.C. Lyte, Queen Latifa, Lady Of Rage or The Real Roxanne did in the late 80's, this was a big deal. Female MC's never got the shine they deserved and Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim changed that all up.
So before you play people out for making stupid mistakes in life be sure you know what they really have accomplished cuz it might be noteworthy.
Thank you Slashyelizabeth, for some reason I was thinking she looked older. I guess on second glance she doesn't look that much older... I still wish them luck, maybe Jimmy cleared it with Jenna before he asked this harpee to marry him??? We can hope.
30I agree Notorious that she's definitely not a one-hit-wonder. But her antics are far-overshadowing her skills on the mic!!! For a minute she actually had my sympathy when she lost her hearing and proclaimed to change her ways...so much for that...ho got her hearing back and is now on a slapping rampage!!!
