We all know that the Britney we see in the September issue of Allure magazine is very different from what the pop star actually looks like these days. Here we have some of the outtakes which showcase the magic of photoshop and airbrushing. We think it's interesting that the magazine chose to portray Britney nicely considering she never even showed up to be interviewed for the article. Tell us, do you think Allure was too kind to Britney?

SHE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT
1hell yes too kind to her
2well they didnt do her a favor, she looks nothing like britney, but ...it was nice of them..imagine what would have happened if they diss britney- total bad press for them.
3allure looks good, everyone knows britneys truth, and the magazine doesnt suffer at all.
I mean, they do it for everyone, why not Britney, too?
4I've seen enough of Britney's private parts now they had to add butt crack to the list.
5she used to be gorgeous and good at what she did, i think untill shes ready theres absoloutaly no point in trying to get bk, spesh when shes getting so much bad press. i think she should have a long holiday with her family, get bk to her roots and where she grew up and sorts herself out. i hope they band photo shopping soon, wouldnt that be really embarrasing if the mags made u out to look gorgeous and then when somone met u in real life were like o, ur not that gr8?
6she looks so empty and dead in the eyes. theres nothing there.
7She looks like Gloria Estefan in the cover shot.
8Those magazines airbrush everyone. I don't know why Britney should be any different, even if she is in deep waters right now. There are plenty of people who grace the cover that they clean up.
Personally, I'm happy to see a pleasant portrayal of the girl. It's a nice change from all the other press out there about her right now. Even if it's a greatly romanticized version of Britney, I think she can use all the help she can get right now.
9Yes, I think so.
10well they airbrush everyone to within an inch of their life, so why not her. however, if i were the interviewer who flew out to LA only to get stood up 4 times, i'd be rooting for the au naturale photos.
11THE THING THAT MAKES ME MAD IS THAT THEY MADE HER LOOK LIKE A WHOLE NEW PERSON, COMPARE THIS PICTURE TO BRITTNY NOW AND THE BRITTNY IN 2004 AND THINGS DON'T ADD UP. they should have just put clothes on her and tell her to cover up the bad spots (which is like everywhere i know) but still i could understand them touching up her face but they should have just made her look more realistic, more like britney. I have no idea why they wanted her half naked.
12yeah, they do airbrush everyone else! besides, by being nice they are more likely to secure a future interview. smart ones, those people at allure...unlike those ok hackjobs.
13She's acting out, being manic and depressive...the way to help her is not to hide things and give her her way. she needs to accept that she needs help...smoothing things over on pretty magazine pages after she throws tantrums just isn't a normal, natural consequence. but hey, I guess at this point we should be glad that (so far) she's not gotten a dui and is the next in line to go to jail...
14and by the by that's what i meant when i said SHE DOESN"T LOOK LIKE THAT, because they had the tools to make her look gorgeous but they made her look like a different person this looks nothing like her. It's either they suck at their job or Brittney needed to be changed because she looks so awful. I honestly do not know but they did a bad job photoshopping her the point is to make her look more realistic, more like her today but better.
15ugh graphic designers
They were too kind.
16i agree with u herjoiedevivre
17I don't think of this as a matter of being "nice" to Britney or not. It's just a little um...insulting(?) if you will that Allure would try and 'trick' us! Beautiful pictures, sad that they're just an illusion!
18Yes, but not for that reason. It shouldn't have been out of revenge that they ran more realistic pictures, but out of... well, realism.
19poor brit looks like a lostpuppy, and no i am not feeling sorry for her
20There's a huge difference between general airbrushing and completely altering a person's appearance. Yes, magazines are doing more and more of it, but these are a prime example of when it goes WAY too far.
And the sad thing is, I think it just feeds into her perception that this is reality and the trashy stuff is just set up to make her look bad.
21I agree with HollyWould's comment-makes one wonder how stupid they think we are. Even if airbrushing is the norm for magazines, this is way too overdone and makes having her on it a waste of space since it is not actually her at all....
22I said "Other" because I am SO OVER seeing her everywhere I go. Please, Britney, save yourself before it's too late!!
23she probably would have sued if they hadnt done their job to make her look good.
24No words for this chick. She's lost. Just lost.
25Frankly I'd rather have them portray her in this light than seeing them do yet ANOTHER cover showing her as a huge wreck. It's refreshing to see her in a typical cover-girl way-- I'm tired of all the media coverage on hurricane Brit.
26I guess that people working on pictures at Allure make huge overtime these days .... with all this photoshopping to do.
27The real question is: Was Allure Too Rude to Their Paying Customers? and my answer is a resounding YES!!!!
28I can`t believe some people actually voted "no"
lmao, hell yeah they were way too nice to her .
29they are so naive to even give her this opportunity to be on their cover! they should have known better that she`d bale out on them like that. wtf
she looks pretty
30britney rocks !!!
I think they were too kind.
31They made her look like the younger Britney that i know and love . How sad ...
cute jeans btw.
32I agree with Cinn...
But yes, they were TOO Kind!
33They airbrush everyone. She should be no different. She's a beautiful girl who needs to take better care of herself. Everyone looks awful when they do what she does and then are under tremendous stress.
34Um. So how come I don't look like that when I suck it in?
35i think she looks cute
36I have not read the article - yet. However, from what I have read on various sites they talk about her on the set of the photoshoot. IN which, she was apparently friendly and cooperative, very easy to work with. If that's the way she honestly acted, then that's how they should portray her.
37they would set a better example to their readers by not airbrushing! she has a perfectly normal, and still nice, body!
38Don't you think that they do this for everyone??? Because they do!!! Everyone is ugly and has personal problems, some just have trouble staying out of the limelight. I feel sorry for her, and I think that anyone has the capability to appear attractive through the right PR...
39I guess this way is better for Allure anyway, because they know that the world is 100% aware that she looks nothin like that!
40Her eyes do look expressionless, but, her body looks amazing. Did they touch up the outtakes as well, or as she just put on weight since that photoshoot?
41I do think she looks like herself, it hasn't been THAT photoshopped (like for her fragrance, Believe).
42I just think that Allure was too kind in the sense that they still let Britney grace their cover (they should have put some other celebrity there) and spend some pages on her non-existent interview.
They should have simply put her photos at the end of the magazine.
Magazines DO airbrush everyone, and they should stop! (Remember the Faith Hill cover on Redbook? They took a perfectly lovely mother of three, and made her look like another plastic fembot. Another magazine made the mistake of airbrushing Kate Winslet, who is gorgeous on her own and has spoken out about unrealistic beauty standards in the media.) This is the first time I can remember someone as photographed as Britney being airbrushed so much.
43She looks soooo beautiful, sigh. I don't believe Allure should have done anything different, it isn't good business to be vindictive. They have a reputation as much as Britney does, at least they're holding up theirs.
44are the color ones photoshopped too because they look pretty good.
45Uh, magazines airbrush EVERYONE. Why is it even news that Britney was? Britney's not being treated any different than any other celeb they have the cover.
46the magazine's job to make her and every celebrities look amazing
47every one have different person behind those pic
I think different magazines have different standards on how they want to deal with celebs.
OK! Magazine pretty much bashed Britney, while Allure doesn't so yeah...
48PS-- I totally agree with the people who are pointing out how magazines airbrush and photoshop EVERYONE-- they like to make us feel bad about ourselves!
49Both color and b/w are Photoshopped to the extent that they look like paintings.
