Kate and Owen may be meeting up for secret rendezvous, but apparently Goldie is not happy about it. The mother daughter duo are super close so this is bad news for Owen. L&S reports:
An insider says Kate’s mom, Goldie Hawn, 60, is having difficulty welcoming Owen, 37, into her close-knit family. In fact, she’s been trying to persuade Kate, 27, to reconcile with estranged husband Chris Robinson, says the insider. And without Goldie’s stamp of approval, the friend says, “there’s no way things are going to work out in the long run, no matter how Kate and Owen feel about each other. He has a lot of work to do." But Kate’s holding out hope. The friend says it took Chris a long time to win over Goldie.

24the event i am speaking of was in 1989; she & kurt were both presenters. it is no major deal, just something i remembered.
25I remember that .. it was supposed to be one of those academy award poorly written jokes that comes off more awkward and uncomfortable than funny. I don't think she was being serious. i thought at the time they were making fun of themselves.. It went something like..The nominees in this category portrayed co-workers, lovers, friends and a married couple. Goldie responded we've have been all of those things except one. Wanna fix that? audiences laughs.. Kurt looks uncomfortable and says .. aahh lets take a look at the nominees. " fade..
I also remember reading a long time ago that they made a decision not to marry and had a candlelit flowers all the kids on their knees in a circle kinda of hippie dedication ceremony promising to love each other. Going way back we're they not both married to other people when they fell in love? For a lot of people that changes their views on marriage.

It would be hypocritical of Goldie for one.. And I think they are close enough that Goldie probably knew every detail about Owen before Chris suspected anything. And she knew her daughter obviously wasn't happy in her marriage. She may have said make sure you know what you are doing, but I doubt she would have bashed Owen.
