Katie Holmes looks fresh-faced and gorgeous on the November cover of Elle. It's the "Women in Hollywood" issue, which, along with Katie, features Emily Blunt, Julianne Moore, Renee Zellweger, and Zoe Saldana. In the magazine, Katie talks a little about what it was like to be a mom working on Broadway as well as what kinds of movies she loves the best. Is someone angling for a cameo in Breaking Dawn? Here are highlights from Katie:
On family life "In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it's like, 'How is everybody else doing?' And it's wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character."
On being a working mom on Broadway during All My Sons: "Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She'd hand the wig lady the bobby pins."
On favorite designers: "I love Alaia, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it's very American, and I'm pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron."
On her favorite movies: "It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I'm not interested."

i can't believe that is katie holmes. she looks amazing and surprisingly youthful for once.

2She looks great, but what movies has she done lately? There's the one she just shot in Australia, but I don't think that comes out for a while. I just think she's an odd choice for this issue. Especially when it's featuring some actresses with more recent work.
3Ironically, she isn't believable in any character she plays. At least she's admitting that her own movies suck.
4She looks so young! Good photoshop, I guess. That's not an insult, because she looks glowing. She looks younger than Miley Cyrus, for sure.
5i like her hair in this pic
6She looks really pretty here.
7She is really pretty, I'm glad she's going back to more of an age appropriate look.
8She looks amazing, such a gorgeous woman!
9pretty woman
10Not a huge Katie fan but love this haircut!
11i cannot believe she didn't mention Giorgio Armani who did so much for her when she came into Tom Cruise's world. Armani took such good care of her.
12she looks chick and young. This must be photoshoped to the max cos in real life she doesn't look like this.
13WOW she looks great! She looks her age finally. She is so skinny though, I liked her a little pudgy.
14I agree -- she looks terrific on the cover. Age appropriate. Now if only she looks like that normally.
15Katie only acts well on tv and I can only say that here. My best friend loves her and I have to watch my mouth. She does look gorgeous, but really isn't relevant in the acting world.
16My friends and I were fans of hers, and she looks beautiful on this cover but she sounds a little, well, dumb (but obviously not as dumb as other "actresses") and I don't like her "All-American" comment even though I understand what she is saying. She sounds young, not like a sophisticate more like her DC days. She still has growing to do and is trying to fill really big shoes as the wife of "Tom Cruise" sorta doesn't fit. Like she should still be on the cover of YM or Teen!
Still, she does looks very pretty and as she should look too.
17I agree Ali (#16), true.
18Oh, she has been photoshopped in the picture. That is not her figure at all, she is so much more bottom heavy in reality and her face, while it looks great here, that is not how she really looks like!
19I hate it when they photoshop pictures that much!
Katie looks gorgeous here. But she looks a bit like her BFF Posh here...
20Viva la photoshop!
21I think the interview is pretty boring, she has nothing exciting to say. These are just "bla bla"-answers. The cover looks pretty good though.
22She looks great, I like her hair
23Too much photoshop for someone we see on the street every day. Just look at the weird angle of her arm. Plus she is much heavier on bottom and they did serious work on her face. Sad that she used to actually look like this (without photo enhancements).
I also agree she sounds rather vapid and am left scratching my head as to why she is even included in this Elle issue on supposedly "strong" women let alone gracing the cover. Her entire value as a woman right now is based upon the man she married and she remains a mute prop on his arm while spending all his money. THAT'S someone girls should want to emulate or something????
24she looks really good here - i always like to see her in magazines because they style her really well and they do fun things with her hair
25I like her hair so much better like this than super short. I hope she sticks with this style.
26she looks adorable and happy...and then I see real shots of her and she looks tired, bored and haggard
27I wish she'd wear more colored clothes, she looks stunning!
28no doubt that she looks fab on the cover, but i'm also confused why she's included? i mean, like #24 said, mostly she's followed around b/c she's the newest Mrs. Tom Cruise and has a gorgeous little girl.
29oh and dammit, now i want to cut my hair off b/c hers looks awesome!!!
30wow! soooo cute! she looks awesome in this pic
31She's beautiful! I love her.
32She's always been really pretty to me
33she finally looks like her normal self! with the help of a lot of photoshop i assume. Funny how she's not interested in unbelievable characters - I feel the same way about her.
34She looks so great!!
35I love the dress she is wearing. Does anyone know who the designer is?
36Love her!!
37classy and yes all American....
38Beautiful in and out. Most of all she is gracious and sweet to all even in handling the press and tabloids. Not many stars can rise above all the pressures. Besides her talent she is a great hands on mom and wife.
Katie conquers tv,movies, indie films, did blockbusters, was amazing in Broadway, starting her own fashion design so dont underestimate her. Variety said she has a romantic comedy in the works called The Romantics.
39My goodness she's so hot and so sophisticated.
Her hair is longer now.
