REALLY?? my husband will sometimes say that he doesn't like something (it took him a long time to get used to pointy toed pumps ) but he's never said "that dress is wearing you."

I will also support the "Suri seems spoiled" comment. I know she is just a kid and it's not her fault, but Katie (and I say Katie and not "her parents" because we almost never see her with Tom) seems to just take her shopping all the time and do whatever she wants.

Does anyone else find it bizarre that Katie and her mom both are both wearing jackets and light scarves yet Suri is out in an undershirt? I guess she got cold because then we see her being carried and wrapped in a blanket. Get the child a proper sweater or jacket, she's not a baby and Summer's been over for a while now!!

yes, Suri does always seem like a pouty spoiled little kid for sure, but who knows what she's really like when she's not vying for her parents attention. i will say that my daughter never lets me put her hair up and it drives me nuts, so i'm guessing that may be princess Suri's case as well. i wish Katie would get back in shape and look a bit more alive, but i guess we all go through phases, right?

@21-Even if Suri hates getting her hair brushed that is no excuse.I have 3 girls.My youngest is 2 and it's a battle trying to get her hair brushed.Once she's gets it brushed though she's happy.Katie could do something to Suri's hair if she really wanted to.

Yeah I don't get this whole "the three-year old won't 'let' me" excuse. Or (with the high heels), she "refuses" to take the off. She is a toddler, not an 18 year old. Little kids don't get to boss the parents around...that's how they end up like Lindsey Lohan. And yes these might not be "big" issues and may not seem "worth the hassle" but that's why being a parent is not awesome sometimes. You have to establish that you are the parent, and the authority figure, even when it is not convinient. You also have to establish that there are certain ways you present yourself to the world, and some things that are not age appropriate, no matter how much you want to wear them. Just because it is dress-up appropriate doesn't make it stree appropriate either.

My daughter has exactly the same hair, the same low part, and there's nothing I can do to get the part closer to the center, which would take it out of her eyes more. Clips are too weak when hair is that thick, and the only thing I can do is put it into side bunches. She'll only let me do this for kindergarten, and not any other days, and she screams a lot when I do it. I could cut her some bangs, but I don't think they look nice, and they have to be redone almost every other day. Having a bit of hair in their face every so often does not actually physically harm the kid, why is there ALWAYS a flurry of parenting 'tips' greeting every Suri entry? Everyone who types them is a perfect parent, I'm sure.

I don't think anyone claims to be perfect... If they do they are obviously delusional. My problem with the Cruise parenting comes from the Scientology parenting belief that children are little adults who get to make their own decisions. I think it is evident, even in photos, that the follow this. I am sure that most parents can agree that this will rarely result is a well-adjusted child.

She should have her hair brushed 25 times a day, then? Because that's what it would take for my daughter to have neat hair all day. She throws herself around, she (gosh) walks in a breeze, she drags her teddy bear all over it, she eats sticky food and wipes her hands in it. She looks a mess a lot of the time. She is loved and happy. The comments that say things like 'this family makes me sick' purely as a response to the pictures above? Nuts.

It seems to hint of a very controlling relationship in which she acquiesces to his word and holds his opinion in higher regard than her own. Granted Katie has extremely questionable taste in fashion but still. Most men would be fine with whatever their lady wore as long as she was comfortable and happy in it.

Which brings me to the other issue. What regular guy is so invested in WOMEN'S fashion that he would actually voice such a comment to begin with?? I guess I shouldn't be surprised coming from the guy who tried to claim expertise in PPD disorders.

I think the truth is that Tom's rather inflated ego just makes him act like he can speak on any subject ...but he really isn't doing much to squelch all those gay rumors either (as well as the ones about him controlling Katie and her being a mindless robot).

Kids are messy, and that's just the way they are. I think Suri is adorable but I also agree that she is probably one spoiled little child. Most kids of wealthy and famous parents are.

Sorry Macneil, I understand that kids are messy, but it's not impossible to keep her hair out of her freaking eyes ALL THE TIME. Ponytails work wonders and her hair doesn't appear to be crazy thick. Bangs might work too. Clear vision is a little more important than Suri being cute or having the hairstyle Katie (or more likely TOM) wants her to have. She's what, 3?

i LOVE seeing the generations together it's nice that katie's mom was able to come and visit - especially since boston's not all that far from toledo or where ever in ohio.

I do agree with #26. I have two daughter and sometimes is so easy to cave in. But I am the parent and supposedly I know best (sometimes). I don't think Katie is a bad parent at all but IMO Tom interferes a lot and he is controlling (so we have heard). He is also much older than Katie and has raised 2 children of his own. Suri needs to have a good hair cut rather than high heels. Those shoes are not appropriate to walk the streets of Boston that is why she is always been carried her feet hurts, poor child.
