Reese and Ryan sadly announced yesterday that they have split up so it's really no surprise that with this comes a tons of rumors as to why the couple broke up. The latest is from FOX 411 who was at the opening night party for Flags of Our Fathers where they witnessed the two get into a big fight. Here's more:
...they came to the opening night party for Ryan's performance in Clint Eastwood's "Flags of our Fathers." It was not a pretty scene. Reese was packing away cosmos and chatting happily with just about anyone, but it was clear she was peeved about something.
The party took place in the rooftop penthouse suites of the Soho Grand Hotel, and what I saw next was something I decided not to print at the time. The couple went out on the roof terrace and had a knock-down, drag-out fight. It looked like something from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
My line of vision was partially blocked by a big exhaust pipe, so at different times during the fight they were obscured. But then Ryan would appear, disgusted, on one side of it, and Reese on the other.
Suddenly, Reese stormed back inside, crossed past me and headed for the elevator. Ryan followed in hot pursuit. Thus, their security guards assigned for the night went running after them, thinking that they were leaving. After a couple of minutes, though, clearer heads prevailed. The couple came back from the elevator with security in tow. Perhaps they'd forgotten that many members of Ryan's family, including his grandmother, were still in the room, oblivious to what was going on.
The whole thing is just so sad, and we're very sure there will be more rumors to come. I guess we should get used to seeing Reese running around alone like in these photos. More pics so just read more

Wow, what happened to them? Is this just because she wants to go back to acting again and doesn't want to be "just a mom" anymore? It really is sad...I remember watching them in "Cruel Intentions"- its my favorite movie of all time!!

I agree, they did seem like a really rock solid couple. I always envied them because they just seemed to do everything right. I always admired how they weren't party animals who tore threw town looking to get onto the cover of every tabloid. They kept their private lives as private as they could.
I often wondered if it bothered Ryan by Reese being such a huge star. He always said it didn't in interviews, but it still kind of makes me wonder.
I just read on another site a rumor about Ryan cheating on her while filming in Vancouver. Of course, I am sure we will hear tons of RUMORS which prolly won't hold much truth.
I wish them both the best, as well as their children.

20I feel bad because of *this*; all the inevitable rumors and speculation following their break up. They have never been a very public couple and have clearly worked hard to keep their family life private... up to now. I feel sad that public interest in their separation will probably invade that privacy.
I can't even imagine having going through something as painful as a divorce and keeping my two young kids feeling secure about everything while having to read wild rumors about my private life on every tabloid cover. My heart goes out to them. I hope this all gets resolved as quickly and smoothly as possible and I wish them the best.

22I agree Siren6. Now women all over believe it was due to Ryan being insecure and cheating, but no one knows what is going on. It's already being cemented in the public mind so I think there is no turning back now.
I hope they are eventually able to learn to work together again and become friends for the sake of their children.

i feel bad your their daughter, at 7 she's old enough to feel this divorce right now. things must be pretty bad for them to announce this right at the start of the holiday season.
they were a cute couple. hope we can remember them that way and things don't get ugly.
