David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie is now the youngest member of mommy Madonna's entourage and is now even going on tour with her. Sunday he flew with Madonna, Lourdes and Rocco to New York where the singer is planning to promote her children's book and talk more about the adoption. Here's more:
Madonna will be on NBC's Today Show today and tomorrow is to film an appearance on Regis & Kelly - the American version of Des and Mel.
She may also be interviewed by CNN's Soledad O'Brien on Thursday.
Madonna's press agent Barbara Charone said: "She will be in New York a few days promoting her book and an NBC special on her world tour this year." The singer's adoption of David has raised questions about whether it was fast-tracked because of her generosity to Malawi.
David sure is a cute one. We're looking forward to hearing what she has to say in these upcoming interviews. Let's stop the confusion. More pics so just read more

13As you can tell, I'm not really following this story. I thought the last story I heard she was under fire since the adoption was under scrutiny b/c of celebrity status and waiving a background check... or something like that.

27OhSuri--- Madonna brought the camera crew because she was filming a documentary about the suffering that is going on in that country. That is also why she is building an orphanage and has donated $3 million to help them.
I definitely think she likes attention, but I can't assume that someone would do this just for attention. There are a lot of other ways she could get attention. I think she genuinely loves children and wants to do something to help.

Meanwhile, although David has been in the UK for less than two weeks, Madonna has introduced him to her Kabbalah faith.
The move is likely to upset Mr Banda, who was told his son was going to "a very nice Christian lady". Madonna took the toddler to the Friday night Shabat ceremony at the Central London Kabbalah Centre, and invited other children to "come and play with baby David".
And the new orphanages she's building are all going to be teaching Kabbalah to the children of Malawi, just like the Christian missionaries did in past generations. Food and shelter if you pray in our religion!
33Oh yea, and she lied on Oprah about the family never visiting him. His dad answered a lot of the Oprah interview stuff in the UK press this weekend.
In the TV interview, Madonna said David had been abandoned by his family. "No one from his extended family had visited him since he arrived," she told Oprah. But Mr Banda insisted this was also "a lie", adding: "I visited David many times, too many to count."
The baby was also visited by his grandmother, while Mr Banda's brother, Profera, "saw him almost every day, sometimes twice a day".
And more troubling to the father is that she lied about the wife and kids dying of AIDS, because now he and his family have to live in their small community with the stigma when none of them were ever diagnosed with AIDS.

Why can't this baby go to his new home (pick one!)and get a little settled in for a few days or more, ideally? I can't believe he's "on tour"! That's irresponsible, at minimum.

39Its sickens me to see that she has already put a red string on David's wrist! That is so wrong. This baby comes from a predominately Christian country and is now going to be raised in this minority faith. That red bracelet shows that David is commited to the Kabbalah faith- he's one years old!!! That's indoctrination, David is nowhere near old enough to make up his own mind about what religion he wants to follow! So much for making sure he knows where he comes from and stays close to his roots, we all know what Madonna thinks of Christianity, his native religion!!!
