Courtney Love is clean and sober and out promoting her new tell-all memoir called "Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love." In the book she talks all about her past, including Kurt Cobain, daughter Frances Bean and her famous drug addiction. Here's more:
Now sober for 15 months, Love writes that if she could, she'd put "a black page in this book and just write 2001 to 2004 across it," because "I was on drugs and nothing I wrote made any sense."
Love says another troubled star helped her seek rehab and get clean.
Love was holed up in a fancy hotel room in Beverly Hills, doing drugs, when Mel Gibson and addiction counselor Warren Boyd knocked on the door.
"Mel kept coming to the door with this cheesy grin going, 'Hi!'" Love said. "I just kept looking at him going, 'Blank off!' … I know him and he's a nice guy, but it just didn't matter who it was. It could have been Jesus. I didn't care."
But the men doing drugs with Love recognized Gibson and left with him to get a cheeseburger. That gave Boyd the opportunity to get into the room and coax her into rehab.
Mel to the sober rescue. Somewhat ironic isn't it? Well let's hope Courtney stays sober for Frances at least.

12I want her to admit that she had Kurt taken out... and that she used his death to launch her career to the next level... I hate her... Did you ever read that book who Killed Kurt Cobain.. where the private detective she hired to investigate turned on her because of the evidence he had found? Kurt was going to leave her and she would have got nothing from the divorce... she went around in druken tirades asking people to kill him and then he shows up dead with soo much drugs in his system that the needle should have still been in his arm not neatly put away on the other side of the room ..let alone then picking up a shotgun to blow your brains out... she soooo killed him. She may not have pulled the trigger.. she may not have even hired someone to pull the trigger (but it is likely)..but just her lovely ass psycho personality pulled the trigger on Kurt.

Sometimes it is random and other times I think they are looking for key words... consider yourself lucky.. your comment can sometimes show up like hours later and in effect get buried...

25I agree Jinx about the catalogue thing. thanks to her we will now her Kurt's songs in commercials and tv shows. Kurt would've hated that. But in all fairness if selling those songs helped Frances have a good life I believe he wouldn't have argued too much really. I read somewhere (maybe here?) that Frances is interested in fashion and design and Stella McCartney has been helping her out in that regard.
26I knew Courtney from SF way back in the day and she is definitely not clean right now- totally getting loaded. She looks much better and does not talk so slow when she is sober.
27To bad, though she is somewhat annoying she is very smart and deep down a sweet person.

I agree that selling the catalouge sux, but she gave some quote somewhere that she was flat broke & about to apply for food stamps to feed Francis Bean & she had to do it. I know she was broke b/c blew all her money on drugs but at least Bean is being taken care of...

30I live in Seattle, and you couldn't pay me to go see her. She is the grossest of the gross and she has everything to do with KC being dead. And then she used his death for self promotion. She is a vile, useless person. I hope Frances is able to get far far away once she turns 18.
31Well if I was Seattle I would certainly be making my way to meet her. I don't think she killed Kurt but she certainly didn't help the cause. I've heard about how smart she is, I would love to talk to her for awhile clear or not. lol Interesting ppl interest me and she's way more interesting than say Reese bore me to death Witherspoon!
32I do not believe a word Courtney Love says. I would never even skim the book she "wrote", let alone buy it. However, it is nice to see her pretending to be sober again.

This is from my local (seattle) craigslist of someone who went to her booksigning today:
"Wow, I tried to get your attention there for a second. I thought a book signing was one of those ordeals where celebs/authors crack a fake smile and make quick small talk with fans, shake a few hands and ask how you want your book signed. No, this was where you hand security your book with the name already written down on a post it note, the signing spot pre-picked for you and the bored celeb signs it begrudingly while avoiding any form of acknowledgement that someone just bought your book and waited for your frickin autograph. Bummer, and I thought you might be fun. Maybe it's the clean and sober bit? hmm. "
