After spending the weekend in NYC with her adorable family, Angelina took off once again, this time for Syria and Iraq. As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, she headed overseas to meet with refugees and American troops. She said:
"I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq."
"It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate about Iraq's future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face."
Leave it to Angie to go straight from a charity event to her next goodwill project.

1I hate to sy this but the UN is played out tired a** body that really is not living up to its name. AJ can highlight the plight all she wants but you can bet those who know the real truth about Iraq and are in Iraq to "protect the people" aren't bothered by a thing such as refugees or humanitarian crisis. War is never ever good even to remove a dictator there are so many others that that could have been done. I can't even imagine living in Iraq right now or having family there. it must nerve wracking.

5I think that's great she is trying to help and make a difference, but i also think that she has four children at home that need a mom and she is going into a very dangerous area and could get killed and leave her kids motherless.

9What I wonder is why we are told that celebs have gone to Iraq or high profile people have gone there. Like really isn't that a little like waving a red flag and saying come and get me.It doesn't diminish anything if people are told after they have returned insteead of what day they landed, where they are etc etc.Extremists aren't exactly people with the most balanced state og mind.
