We loved watching the adorably fashionable Emma Watson this summer while she was promoting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Now the adorable starlet is branching out of the wizarding world and into Ballet Shoes. The TV movie is currently being filmed in London, where she plays one of three orphans who get adopted by an explorer. Even though the movie is made for British television we're hoping we get to see it since we'd love to see what Emma does beyond the Harry Potter franchise.

11Oh wow, this must be based on the book!!! "Ballet Shoes" by Noel Streatfield is one of the most wonderful children's books ever. I absolutely loved it when I was a kid--there's actually a whole series--and it's about a million times better than Harry Potter.
They aren't very well known for some reason, but anyone who's read them loves them!

21OMG! Ballet Shoes was my favorite book when I was young! I even bought an out-of-print copy when I found out I was having my daughter. That's fabulous that it's being made into a movie. I hope it's released in the US...

28I read "Ballet Shoes" bout a million times when I was little. According to IMDB, she's playing Pauline, the oldest, which makes sense. Very exciting!

31oh man i LOVED these books when i was a kid. i owned three of them (my parents probably still have them in their basement somewhere), and the library had at least two other ones. i don't know how many are in the series, but i hope they make several movies!
32She's cute, and seems like a sweetheart. I am interested to see how she develops as an actress. Right now, I don't think she is that great, but she seems like a smart girl and smart actresses tend to turn out okay.
