aww Princess Di.....she exuded dignity and grace...
1The memorial was held at the guards Chapel in Kensington, the Princes did amazingly they deserve a medal, i bet she would be so proud of them. It was really lovely.
2princess Di
even though she died when i wuz 7 i find an example of compassion for the
less fortunate. she's an inspiration!
3i find HER an....
4I love her!!she was the most beautiful princess, in the wold: stefanie de monaco, laetizia ortiz have not her grace and her class!!
5I can't believe it's been ten years since both she and Mother Teresa died.
She has a lot to be proud of with those boys.
6i think princess diana is a wonderful women and i wish she was still alive...
7I still dont think it is right to "celebrate" the anniversary of someones tragic death. She was a lovely person who will be remembered for years to come...we dont need an anniversary party.
8They're not celebrating her death. They're memorializing it to celebrate her life.
We do the same with my grandmother. The Princes did the same with Princess Diana on her birthday. You may not need an anniversary "party" but many of us do find an anniversary memorial very therapeutic in recovering from the loss of a loved one.
9I cant believe it was ten years ago. That makes me feel so old.
10Courtney Love has a plethora of issues. This is just one of them.
11Princess Diana - she was an exquiste example of grace, beauty and compassion. I miss her presence on a daily basis but her legacy does still burn brightly in her boys and in many other ways.
12I think Diana was more than "a lovely person" to her sons and if this is how they choose to remember her and keep living productive lives, then I think that's cool.
13I want Di necklace... its really tragic the way she died, one would think the paparazzi would back off with today celebrities
14I'm so confused why celebrities aren't driving soooooooooo safely right now. After all of the ones who have been pulled over lately, you would think it would be the one thing that the rest of them would try to do well.
15Wow... time flies. I remember when she passed :'( Her memory will live on forever. She was truly an inspiring woman.
16How is it that Courtney Love managed to make Owen's suicide attempt about her? If she was really his friend, she'd stay away from the media with her ridiculous meddling stories. Pisses me off.
17Courtney SERIOUSLY needs to get over herself. Gimme a break, how many people did she lead to drugs and suicide attempts?
I agree, jmast. If she truly cared, she'd keep her trap shut.
18I can't believe what's her name didn't show up at Di's memorial service thing.. that seems wrong.
19Why can't these idiots just hire someone.. or for godsakes take a cab! Stupid stupid stupid.
20It never really seems to work bribing people who actually have money.. with that money they hire people to take you down. Though who would want those stupid pictures anyway.
21The courtney thing... what? huh?
22I assume you mean Camilla about "not showing up"? Why should she? Diana and Camilla hated each other. Her showing up would've been completely inappropriate, insincere, and a slap in Diana's face.
23Camilla is the one who organized the memorial right?
24Diana was not perfect and some people want to equate her to Mother Theresa or a Saint. She had numerous affairs herself and dated married men without a thought to their wives or children. She was very clingy and looking for love that he did not get at home.
She had Harry by someone else (you can't tell me that he's Charles' child he looks just like the polo player she was having an affair with, red hair and all). I blame Charles for the terrible husband he was to her. I don't blame her for wanting love but she wasn't a saint.
She was compassionate though and tried to help a lot of people and It's always sad when someone dies so unexpectedly.
25The boys planned the memorial.
I agree that Diana wasn't a saint. I still liked her overall and think she would've had a lot to be proud of, though.
26No one is perfect but Diana did good for others which is more than most. The boys planned the event and I heard the Camila decided to not attend so that the press wouldn't focus on her presence there.
Lamborguinis, maseratis and some bentleys are really not conducive to chaffeurs. Who wants to ride in a 2 seater with their chaffeur or trust them with a X00,000.00 car? This way if you do something to the car it's your own d*** fault. How would these celebs be able to show us how 'classy' they are if they didn't have/drive these cars?
27I miss Diana and I really miss JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. We lost some really good people in the 90s.
28xena, its true that no one is perfect, she was 17 when she met charles and he had an affair with camilla so because she did not want to part for the childrens sake she went elese were as well. u cant deny she was a wounderful person who did so much for her country and others, she was a really extraondary person and i think some people like to put others who are seen as peoples heros down for some reason. the uk is the roots of the red heads, in my family we have a red head born from two really dark haird people, if he was'nt the real prince it would be known because in the royal family you cannot be a prince/princess if you are illegitimate.
29Xena - I didn't realize there was anyone left who still believed in the rumors that the "polo player" is Harry's father.....especially after he was caught trying to sell some of Diana's letters shortly after her passing. The man you are referring to is James Hewitt and he met Diana the summer of 1986 and Harry was born in 1984. In case you have never seen Diana's brother & sister, they both have Harry's red hair.
30I agree with every person who said that she was FAAAAAAAR to be perfect, she could be really mean and annoying, and also used the paparazzi when she needed them, yet it is undeniable that she did the GREATEST things too, there is no doubt about it!!I remember being extremely shocked and sad when she died. may she rest in peace.
31I can't believe it has been 10 years, I love Princess Diana.
32"I agree with every person who said that she was FAAAAAAAR to be perfect, she could be really mean and annoying..."
Oh, you knew her then? Yes, let's speak ill of the dead because that's really classy.
Anyway, as for Courteney Love - I hope driving Kurt Cobain to suicide was life affirming for HER. Stupid cow.
33Camilla released a statement last week about her reasons for not attending. It was actually very classy.
34why such an old photo pop ?
35Cuz a new one would be impossible?
36"Far from being"
37Sorry.
Shes an angel...I love all the coverage of her.
38I think the bottom line is she was human!! She would have been very proud of her two boys today. I loved what Harry said about her at the Memorial Service.
39I didn't say he WAS the Polo player's, I said he "looked" like him. Diana had numerous affairs, so who knows but her. If he is Charles' then that's great too. I'm sure they would not want to bring the shame to the family or the heart break that it would cause Harry if they did announce that he was illegitimate. William is in line for the throne so I'm sure Charles isn't worried any. He had Harry fighting in Iraq, so I'm sure he was proud of both.
40Greggie, you made me spit out my pepsi with your last comment.
41sad
42they had a blood test when harry was 11, he is charles's son
43At least the Buckingham did something to recognize her.
44Lady Di, one gorgeous great lady
45if you do enough research, you'll see mother teresa wasn't so perfect either... and would've hardly considered herself saintly.
i loved di and MT.
46totally agreed catpoetess
