Jude Law took his two sons Rafferty and Rudy along yesterday afternoon to practice their soccer skills in NYC. He's got his hands full with the boys, but it's Jude's baby daughter who's making headlines. Sophia is on the cover of Britain's Hello! magazine, with her mom Samantha Burke opening up inside about her relationship with Jude and her hopes for their future friendship. Jude's demanding schedule of performances in Hamlet on Broadway means he can't exactly pop down to Florida to meet his newest addition, but Samantha seems hopeful he'll be able to step it up and be there for Sophia.

I thought he had said, prior to the baby being born, that he'd pay the child support but would not be "in" the life of the child and mother.
1i was just about to say the same thing...hes already admitted that he would do what was necessary for the child and the mom but that he wasnt going to be there to raise her. plus, dont these women know better than to not do whats necessary to prevent getting pregnant by someone that has 20 kids with 20 OTHER women!? geeze.....
2It is so profoundly sad that Jude would not be in the life of the child. It's not the little girl's fault her mother & father got themselves into this predicament.
3I wonder how that little girl is going to feel about him when she's older.
I'm betting she 's going to have major issues with the" he won't have any thing to do with raising her part." How pathetic on his part and how sad for her.
4This woman is crazy in the head if she thinks that Jude is all of a sudden going to come swooping in and be the best father to her child......what did she think she was sleeping with? father of the year? she can read right?
5It is sad for the baby that her father won't be present, but the mother knew that going into the situation so the blame is equal with the 2 of them.
6um, situations like this suck but I understand both sides...if you don't want something, you just don't want it - period...sometimes, people really don't want a kid, especially since he has so many...however, you bang her raw, you'd better be ready for consequences and to be a man and a father...considering sex with these types probably doesn't last long or get that deep, the condom won't be on that long and clearly it's sooo worth it lol
7i think that people are jumping to conclusions here. you know that he'll support his daughter and he's not denying that she's his - and never has - so i think that everyone's going to be ok in the end. i think that without being part of the relationship, we can't speculate what happened before and what's going to happen for them. for now we can just hope that everyone's healthy and 'comfortable' and we'll see what happens from there
8He doesn't need to go see her, her fame whoring mother is getting her picture plastered on any magazine that will pay her. I wonder how much of that money is actually going to Sophia, since without her her mother would still be a Hooter waitress instead of cover girl of Hello/OK whatever.
9You can't just blame Samantha. You have to put the blame on both of them.Jude has other children. He knows unprotected sex can make a child. If he wasn't ready for the responsibility he should of wrapped it up.It's not Sophia's fault. That's what is wrong with Hollywood, they think money cures all.Even if he doesn't want anything to do with the mother the baby didn't ask to come into this situation.
10If By 20 kids by 20 other women you mean 3 kids by his ex-wife. lol
11Thanks misshellokitty I was about to say the exact same thing.
That child did not ask to be put into the middle of all this BS and she shouldn't have to pay the price in any way for both of her parents lack of responsibility.
12I don't know why women think having a baby by a man is going to change his mind about having a relationship with you. Shes a jumpoff that got pregs. that baby did not ask to be here and will have relationship issues growing up. And mommy dearest wasted no time pimping the baby out for money already, just sad.
13If Jude is taking his time to helping his children understand what has taken place, taking the time he himself needs to emotional be in the best possible place to make decisions, I respect him for that. Although, it is not ideal, bonding with a child can happen at any age. A newborn needs to have a stability that is the responsibility of the custodial parent. When the child can be with Jude and will not need to be with the Mother, he may chose to hire a nanny so that he can pick up the child to establish a personal relationship. When she is old enough to travel without her mother you may see Jude involved. He just may have decided that it is best for the baby to stay away. If he is not ready emotionally, then he is doing the best thing.
14Ilanac13, you are always such a refreshing voice of clear thinking. Yes, some people are very much jumping to conclusions or repeating stuff that other people have said, not Jude himself. Yes, Jude said at the very beginning that he would support the child. He also said he would make no further comment, which he doesn't owe anyone, and he hasn't, even with all the media storm blustering up around him everytime SB has something to say. He never said he wouldn't see the child. That's just an assumption that has been made and repeated and people lose track of the source, that it wasn't Jude who said it. Just because he hasn't jetted off the Florida isn't telling of anything. He's working 8 shows a week until Dec. 6, and although some people say "Oh, he could easily fly down and back"...well, that's YOUR solution, but it may not fit with what really needs to happen. Ever think that perhaps her outright flirtation with the media might also factor in? She's already sold their child to the tabs, something he doesn't favor, and she's making ridiculous statements about their meeting, to the tabloids. This all should have been kept private, but she's made it all into a media circus, so everybody and their drunk aunt can get all fired up and indignant about the horrible, malicious Jude. Well, I agree wholeheartedly with Ilanac...Jude and Sophia will be just fine when things settle down...I wouldn't be surprised at all if he'll have it arranged so he can be with the child without the mother, if she's bent on being a media wh*re, and I only say that because that's pretty much what she's done so far. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she ruined it. So...as long as she doesn't constantly use Sophia as the tool of manipulation, Sophia and Jude will be fine.
15And nobody's denying that they are BOTH responsible for producing the child, but she's the one who's held all the cards and decided she wanted to keep the baby, she wasn't merely "saddled" with it like poor little abandoned thing...she had options...and she chose what she chose, and good for her...but Jude didn't even have benefit of knowing he was a father again until the child was almost here and it was already named, and he was in the middle of his Hamlet commitment! So I think he deserves some slack for kinda being jerked around a bit on that count.
Honestly, I think this borders on a child protection case. She is financially benefitting from plastering the child's face across the newspapers.
Her motivations are not pure if she wants to drag Jude's name through the press.Somebody needs to open an investigation into how much money the mother is making from all of this.
