It may have been UK GQ's Men Of The Year Awards last night in London, but it was all eyes on the ladies - some of our favorite supermodels in particular. Helena, Elle and Naomi all looked as smoking hot as they did at the peak of their fame - lucky, lucky. Claudia Schiffer recently said she thinks the Supermodel is dead because of the prevalence of actors/starlets in ads and on magazine covers, but it doesn't feel that way looking at these fabulous stars. Plus, could anyone ever live up to this era of models? Their younger peers are busy making names for themselves at New York Fashion Week but these are some big stilettos to fill.

2They all look FAb and as much as I can't stand Naomi she is simply fabulous. She has the best body and seriously she hasn't changed at all in all these years she's still looks like she did on day one. The others look FAB but they look like they have aged.

13The reason why there's so much demand for celebs to model is because today's models are painfully boring? have you looked at vogue in the last 8 years? the ads are far more eye catching and newsworthy than the layouts. don't blame celebs for stealing the jobs of models. blame models/the fashion industry for promoting soulless walking lollipops who can barely walk let alone smile without tipping over from malnutrition.
daria werbowy, chanel iman, gemma ward and all the new "models" need to go away forever. i'd rather see candids of former models just walking on the sidewalks of NYC than watch the newbies. they've had so much time but they still suck.

25I adored the recent Vogue with the new models like Coco Rocha and Jessica Stam on the cover. So refreshing and such a welcome change from the overrated obligatory Jessica Simpson, Renee Zellweger, and Jennifer Garner covers. Honestly, the actress-as-model craze is like beating a dead horse. We're over it! More models on covers, please!

26The last Vogue that I enjoyed was the one with Linda Evantgelista, Naomi and several others. I think it was late last year. I can remember it in great detail. I read this month's Vogue. SNOOZEFEST. I'm done with the 900 pages with nothing but nice ads and poor content.
Oddly enough, the models in Glamour and even men's magazines like Maxim are much better than the ones in Vogue. They are vivacious, healthy and happy. People talk about Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam and the new "it girls" as if they were special. I'm not impressed. I'm convinced that the Gisele obsession is based heavily on the fact that she's the better of their options really. If you want to see a good model, go to VS, take the implants out and voila! A good runway model.

30The reason there are no more "supermodels" is because the designers didn't like how the models upstaged the clothing. That is why models now days are so boring looking. The designers chose the models, and therefore, dictate the trends in the modeling industry.
I really, really, really, really, dislike Naomi Campbell.

41I think the "supermodel" is dead because back when they were popular, the models that worked the most had curves and gorgeous faces. They were HOT, women wanted to look like them and men wanted to look at them. They were as much a part of the show as the clothes were.
Nowdays, fashion designers are chosing women that are plain and make the clothes stand out. Except for a handful of women (Giselle, etc.) the models that work a lot now aren't that hot. They are just walking clothes hangers.
