Jude Law looked pretty pissy on the phone in London Monday, and the next day his mood went from bad to worse. Last night he turned himself in for arrest after beating up a paparazzi outside of his home. According to the report, Jude assaulted the photographer and accused him of only wanting shots of his children, despite the fact that the man wasn't taking pictures at the moment. I assume Jude recognized the man from earlier incidents, which set him off. Jude's lawyer just issued the following statement:
"I can confirm that Jude Law voluntarily attended Marylebone Police Station yesterday following an alleged incident outside his house earlier in the day. Mr. Law provided the police with a statement regarding his denials of allegations by a 'paparazzi' photographer against him and made his own allegations concerning the photographer. Jude has the utmost respect for the police and whilst this is an ongoing matter no further comment will be made."
This isn't the first time the actor has been accused of getting angry at a paparazzi and I certainly can't blame Jude for being frustrated with constantly being followed. That being said, violence is pretty much always a bad call. Jude was released on bail and his court date is set for October.

12There wasn't a new Brad Pitt story so sorry for being off topic, but Brad just stated in V magazine in an interview that he basically left Jennifer for Angelina. I know that's not news to most, but for the die hard Angelina fans, they were saying that Brad's marriage was over before Angelina came into the picture. NOT SO says Brad. Brad said he had to ask himself have I taken his as far with Jenn as I want to take it "without out side influences" (meaning Angleina) He said "Yes, I have". he said he had to answer those questions to Angelina before he and Angelina took their relationship farther.

27Not a huge fan of his, but I don't blame him -- there should be more consequences for photographers that cross lines like the paparazzi do. It's really ridiculous that anyone is expected to put up with that level of harassment and invasion of privacy (unless they want it, like some celebs we all know).

34Oh please... If you visit pop frequently at all you KNOW there will be another BP/AJ post within a few hours -- they're everywhere!
My point being -- While their stories can be interesting, it's a nice break sometimes to visit stories that have nothing to do with Brad Pitt, or Angelina Jolie, or the whole triangle with Jennifer Aniston.
It's tough to do, I know, but it would nice to keep the subject of BP/AJ/and JA to the posts that are actually about them.
35More celebs should fight back against these stalkers!!! Its a given that being a celeb automatically revokes your privacy but evey human being deserves to have their personal space esp. with kids around. This isn't his first time and not his last but I can't say I blame him.

43The paps get what they deserve. They are way to invasive most of the time, but celebrities need to put up with it to a degree. They are, afterall, public figures. I don't agree with them hanging out at the celebrities homes though nor chasing after their kids.
44It seems celebs do put up with it to a degree, as we don't hear of daily pap beatings. I guess paps should expect that getting popped can be part of the territory, just like celebs are expected to put up with the intrusion. But I totally think that kids should be completely off limits...that's just not right, and I think there should be laws protecting them. In fact, I believe that any paps seen loitering in residential areas should be treated as the stalkers they are.

46You took the words right out of my mouth, lhomey. It IS completely ridiculous that these photographers are allowed to stalk and harass private citizens and the victims are just expected to take it day after day.
Now, I HATE it when celebs get all whiney about the paps because in reality it does come with the territory, but I can't blame celebs (especially those with young children) for losing it every once in a while. I can't stand Jude and I don't condone assault, but I'll admit that the thought of skinny little Jude Law kicking some photog's ass makes me smile.
