Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise took a bottle break while on the Long Island set of The Romantics yesterday. This morning, Suri stayed home while Katie stepped out solo for a quick coffee run. Katie was spotted with her costar Adam Brody earlier in the week, but another of the actors in the film, Josh Duhamel, is off dealing with some personal drama before joining the cast in NY. Katie has her work cut out for her over the next few months as she handles her movie and a possible return to Broadway, but she's no stranger to busy schedules.

WTF?!!! Isn't Suri like 3 or 4 years old? What is the deal with the bottle? That's disgusting!
1She's still drinking from a bottle??
2I don't think it's disgusting....just a little long for a child to have a bottle.
It's not disgusting but she's definitely too old for a bottle.
3For some reason, Suri seems really spoiled to me. I could be wrong.
4It's a scientology thing to let your kids do what they want. I remember Leah Remini was all over the media last year because her 4 year old was drinking 5 bottles a night and still wearing diapers.
5At least she isn't still breast feeding...
6Ummmm...I would like to chime in with all the people professing their astonishment that Suri is still drinking from BOTTLES! My god, get the girl a sippy cup! There is a reason you aren't supposed to drink from bottles after you turn one, it's BAD for your teeth!!! No child has ever been traumatized by the loss of a bottle....get RID of it! Sheesh! Show some sense Tom & Katie!
7Bottles are for babies b/c they can't eat solid food. Once their baby teeth come out, they shouldn't use bottles b/c they are bad for teeth. Katie Holmes is bad mother. Really really a bad mother.
8That's ridiculous there's no reason for that child to be drinking out of a bottle...I don't see why they would encourage that. It will wreck her teeth...For some reason I imagine this kid being very spoiled and lacking a personality... I'm probably wrong, but the way she's portrayed with her dresses and heels, ect... Just doesn't sit well with me, but what ever, she's not my kid.
9At least if they're going to give her a bottle, they shouldn't give it to her in public. I feel sorry for Suri, I can't help but think that the way she is being raised is going to cause some issues in her future.
10lol the judgy mothers are out full force. i am sure katie has money to fix suri's teeth. mothers who spent their time on the internet judging another woman on her motherly skills. hilarious..!!!!
11Is she serious with the bottle?! If she's grown up enough to wear high heels, she's grown up enough to drink out of a big-girl cup.
12in scientology you cannot say no to a child because it's 'negative' thus the reason why leah remini's brat is still pooping in her diaper at 6-7 years of age (gross). they believe children are really adults in little bodies. it's very weird.
13Although I would never give my 3 year old a bottle, alot of us mothers do things that other mothers mite find wierd or bad for a kid.
14I am sure she does drink from a big girl cup.
15my sister drank from a bottle till she was 5, she turned out alright. stop bashing people!!
16seriously, a bottle???
17the first thing i saw was the bottle and i have to admit i was a little disgusted. it's not about bashing women and how they mother their children but at some point it's kinda like, come on. it's common sense.
18I think the most hilarious thing on this thread is this:
"i am sure katie has money to fix suri's teeth"
Sure...go ahead...let your kid do whatever and engage in any kind of parenting (or lack thereof) that you want. Just so long as you have MONEY. That's the most important thing folks.
LOL!
19I agree with what all the SMART posters are saying about the bottle...come on...so what if Katie can afford to pay for her daughter's teeth to be repaired?! That's just ridiculous! Stop babying your child and let her grow up already...
20Katie needs to have another baby..she seems to want to keep Suri a baby forever..The child is almost 4 years old .I agree with the poster above if she is old enough to walk in High heels then she is old enough to drink from a cup. This is just lazy parenting
21isn't that some form of child abuse being that your kid is not being taught at the appropriate rate of learning?...they put her 1 million activities and yet drinking from a cup isn't being taught...she can't possibly be potty trained...it's likely that she'll be a whiny brat throwing tantrums at 8 and 10 yrs old
22I'm with all the other appalled posters. Ridiculous.
23It's not just the use of the bottle that's objectionable. Does she really need to be sucking on a bottle while climbing around on a jungle gym? It's so obvious that the bottle has become some kind of security blanket/crutch for the kid. It's with her constantly. It's not like, "I'm hungry/thirsty, I want a bottle." It's "I'm playing, I want to carry the bottle around with me."
Some parents do deserve to be bashed. They look for the easy, convenient way out instead of doing what's right for their kids. That's not being judgmental. That's a fact.
24I know a lady who still breast feeds her 4 yr. old. I agree with the poster who said Katie wants to keep Suri a baby.
25umm, so Suri is old enough to wear heels and lipstick but she's too young to use sippy cup? isn't she in diapers too? i'm confused.
26I love the poster who said the child is somehow old enough for heels, yet still drinks from a bottle. TOUCHE. Seriously, touche.
27To those of you defending the use of a baby bottle at Suri's age is just as whacked out as her parents. I've been silent on the high heels and lipstick but they are sending this child mixed signals. On the one hand it's ok to wear heels (grownup behavior) and ok to drink from a bottle (baby behavior). Its no wonder the child looks so confused and weird most of the time. All along I thought it was somehow related to the constant exposure to and/or ever present paparazzi attention surrounding this child.
28Someone said in Scientology they believe children are really adults...in small bodies? lmao...that just sounds all kinds of wrong...but if we're keeping with that theory, TRUST ME, its more adult like that my daughter who is 4 is able to get up in the middle of the night go into the bathroom, turn on the light, do her business, flush the toilet, spray with anti bacterial soap, turn off the light, and climb back into her bed. Seriously, there is nothing adult about a 4 year old with a bottle hanging outta her mouth, still wearing pull ups or whatever she's wearing...that's so sad. I teach a 3 and 4 year old tap and ballet class...we dont take a kid still in pampers or pull ups...gotta be potty trained.....Do these people have pets too? Do they let their dogs piss all over the place b/c they wont say no, bad dog b/c it sounds negative
29They are nutjobs! I mean, the same woman who lets her daughter run around town during fall without being properly dressed and wear heeled shoes is letting her drink from a bottle?! So bizarre.
30suri is 3 years old, she shouldn't be drinking from a bottle. Bad parenting.
31Wow, everyone is losing their minds over the bottle ... but does nobody have issues with the DISTURBING headline?? I know the film is called 'The Romantics' ... but come on. Pop - what the hell is wrong with you? Yuck.
As for the bottle - I'm not a mom, but it seems odd the kid can walk around in heels, just drinks from a bottle at times. Not cool.
32To answer why children should be weaned off bottles after a certain age, here's what UCSF Children's Hospital has to say: "Children using bottles are more likely to have tooth decay or improper dental development, and they may not develop appropriate feeding skills. Also, children who depend on bottle feedings may not consume enough solid foods to meet their nutrient needs." They said that children are usually weaned off the bottle between 12-18 months. Signs that a child is ready to be weaned are:
33* Can sit up by themselves
* Can eat from a spoon
* Show more interest in solid foods
* Have an established routine for mealtimes
the trolls here so few of you are pathetic to the core....
34Im speechless from the cuteness of this two.
35Holmes is lovely even without trying. Katie and Tom are amazing parents.
36I can't wait until this current crop of Hollywood kids reach teenage. They are going to be a hot mess.
37More power to TomKat!!!!!
38********** cutiepatooties alert *********
39Nice to know that even though we are middle class and not famous; my 1 year old can drink out of a regular glass. I'd say she & other babies who can do this are miles ahead of Suri.
40HEY, PARENTS OF THE YEARS!! SHUT UP!! TOM AND KATIE SEEM TO BE REALLY GOOD PARENTS! MY GOSH!! THESE TWO SPEND THEIR TIME WITH HER A LOT! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT ABOUT OTHER PARENTS!
IT ISNT UNUSUAL FOR A 3 YEAR OLD TO STILL USE A BOTTLE. STOP ALL THE HATE, PLEASE. THIS IS A 3 YEAR OLD KID WHO SEEM TO BE REALLY HAPPY AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF.
41What exactly do they think they are teaching her? I think kids should be allowed to be kids but they also need rules, limits and boundaries which are set by adults/parents. Kids DO NOT have the mental capacity to determine this. (I am not doubting the intelligence of children, most are brilliant, but they certainly lack the ability to make wise, mature decisions.) I don't know what they think they are teaching her but neglect really is a terrible thing and this will eventually come back to bite them in the ass.
42Oh, my...you are all so passionate about this subject! I was merely making a joke when I said "at least she still isn't breastfeeding." But, Wow...just wow.
Some of you are going a liiiiitle overboard with with the T+K-parenting skills analysis. I mean, does a perfect parent really exist? We all make mistakes, and she seems to be a really loved child. Hell, I sucked my thumb until I was a teenager! My parents tried everything to get me to stop, but some habits are only broken when the child is ready.
43Sucking your thumb is a lot different than parents who actively participate in enabling a child to use a bottle as a coping mechanism. The kid can't get the bottle herself - someone has to make it for her and let her have it. Your thumb was always available to you - thus it was impossible for your parents to make you stop, you had to do it on your own.
My older daughter was attached to the bottle at 1 year old. As soon as I noticed it, we weaned her. There was about a week of fussing and constantly asking for the bottle, and a few nights of crying for it, but that was it.
I should add that my daughter is now 14 and has what her dentist calls "the most perfect set of teeth I've ever seen."
44Has anyone seen Katie's teeth? I always wondered why she never gets them fixed, though it's her prerogative, maybe she drank a bottle until she was 4 also.
45i hate how judgey everyone is here. who cares if she's drinking from a bottle. she's 3 yrs old and well - it's easy for them to do that...so just let them be. i'm sure that all moms (parents) get chastised for what they do from time to time.
anyway, it's nice to hear that katie is so busy with all these projects in the works. i hope that she's happy these days
46They're in a CULT, babe. They believe aliens lived in volcanos and jumped into our souls to pollute our values. They believe homosexuality is a disease. They have a lot of wacky beliefs. And they do it voluntarily...so...yeah. Wacky. But hey...it's their money.
Sceino has a lot of crazy vitamin and dietary restrictions...especially for the women. Katie's undereye circles are so bad, she looks 10 years older than she is. A barley bottle is the least of that kid's problems.
Co$ are not allowed to breastfeed. To the commenter who thought that nursing would be somehow gross, wrong, or unusual...entire continents of women nurse their children into toddlerhood. Shame on any woman who judges a mother's decisions on how and what she feeds her child!
/mommy rant to nurse my almost-3-year-old to sleep.
47What exactly is a "barley bottle?"
Scientology is certainly pretty odd, and the church politics are definitely pretty corrupt and too shrouded in secrecy, but I'm not sure I would attack Tom and Katie for their beliefs. I mean, Christianity, for instance, also offers some pretty wacky ideology, and maaaaany Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc also seem to believe that homosexuality is a "disease," so I would find a better argument. And, frankly, every religion has dietary restrictions...show me the religion that doesn't.
48Okay, look at Suri's face. She looks WAY younger than she is now. This is a really old picture.
49Role model of a family. Every child is unique and different.
50Suri seems normal and most of all happy.
