Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her — and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!
Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Rihanna has come out strong opening up about her difficult year and what all this means to her – check out Rih's heartfelt speech after the jump.

Are u ppl serious...That dress rihanna has on is very ugly, how can ppl take this site seriously, you're a bunch of jokers. Are u saying that its gorgeous so that the "industry" would think that u get it. CAUSE I DONT GET IT!!!!
1yeah, princess riri's dress is hideous. WTF is up with michael douglas' and maria shriver's hair????
2those are the women of the year? this is a joke, yes?
3I can't believe Serena Williams was on this list after she threatened that line judge at the us open this year.
4what has rihanna done to be woman of the year? i feel bad for what happened to her but she only talked about it when she had an album coming out. cone again, how does she deserve to be woman of the year?
5When did Catherine Zeta Jones get SO thin? I like her better curvey!
6Rihanna's dress would be kinda funky as a wedding dress but you'd have to stretch the imagination to see it...I get it, but not necessarily for this occasion
7Love this girl so much! Don't hate guys, congratulate...well done Rih you definately do deserve this award and I'm so proud of you! She looks so beautiful and happy
8CZJ is SOOOOOO skinny... yowsa!
9What has any of them done? Far more than any of you haters/jealous bitties have done. It's so easy to complain rather than congratulate, isn't it? Mull that over as you think about the dull box that is your lives.
10It is call Haute Couture and that dress is fabulous. Maybe some of you have learn something here today. It is a Glamour Magazine event people. Congratulations to all the winners, well deserved.
11Haha, saw the pics and thought 'When did Halle Berry confirm her pregnancy? Where have I been?' Then I realised it was Padma...Oh, and Rihanna's dress is fab!
12Rihanna and the other women look fab to me. Rihanna got that award because she is famous and got her butt beat by Chris Brown, but anybody with some sense knows that Rihanna started the fight and put her hands on Chris Brown first, but that doesn't mean he should have hit her back. Rihanna speaking was just a pubilcity stunt anywayzs.
13No one is mentioning Stella McCartney's legs! They are gorgeous
14Getting smacked around, then severely beat up, then still being with your abuser, finally leaving your abuser and now talking about it around the same time she has a new album - how in the world does this make someone any sort of candidate for woman of the year? Repulsive.
As for what we have done? Well, you have no clue the amount of money and countless numbers of hours some of us give to our own communities. The big difference? We are not famous and do not need an event in order to feed our ego, as that is not what it is about for most of us. We give to make the world in which we live in, a better, safer place to be. End of story.
15^ If you give without any consideration toward rewards, why do you then sound so bitter? If you've got such a generous heart then why do you simplify the physical and pyschological abuse that Rihanna went through so callously (going back to him was weak but she was recently abused at the time and abused women tend to be in unstable state of minds. Besides, she left him which is what really counts). Stop taking the award so seriously, it's Glamour Women of the Year not Time Magazine or Nobel Peace Prize.
Anyway, they all look amazing.
16I felt so good that she waited to speak about this and drew as much attention to domestic violence as she could. It must have been so hard for her to face the further abuse of suggestions that she provoked this attack. But this will help other women that come forward about this issue and look for help to know that they have to stay strong because some will say that they asked for it or why did you go back. Well the answer is simple very often believe it or not victims also blame themselves and are ashamed of what they went through.
17She kind of disappears in that dress, it's wearing her!
18Tyra looks wonderful, though! Just the right colour!
