Kate Moss was back in one of her favorite fur jackets for an evening out in London on Thursday. She's able to balance the demands of her career and social life, and Kate just added another element to her growing business empire. She's set to launch a new fragrance called Vintage, with hair and beauty products to follow. She sat down with Women's Wear Daily to chat about her business, touching on a few issues like her impressions of herself and the maxims by which she lives. Here's more:

- On her definition of beauty: "It sounds really corny, but I think that if you’re beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure. You can be a pretty face, but if you’re not a nice person, it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right. If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps."
- On getting inspired: "I write sometimes, or I’ll draw. It all depends what’s around. If I’m with my daughter, I’ll paint. I make jam. It’s kind of creative when you make jam. In the country, I get creative with what I have in my house. I just did my dressing room [with my former personal assistant who now designs interiors] and that was quite a good creative process. It’s heaven. We did it together. I wanted it to be a space, not just a closet. I wanted it to be a room you could feel comfortable in and hang out in without just being a wardrobe."
- On her mottoes: "There are loads. There’s 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.' That’s one of them. You try and remember, but it never works."
To see what Kate has to say about her business, mentors, and preferred relaxation techniques, as well as more photos, just read more.
- On who her mentors are: "My close friends, probably. There are lots of women I look up to, but mentors are someone you talk to and not just admire. A lot of my friends that I trust are my mentors. They would say, “Oh no, Kate, that’s not a good look."
- On how she relaxes: "I’ve got a steam room now, I go in there. It’s heaven. I steam and then go to the relaxation room and cool off. In the country, I go for walks and hang out and make jam."
- On the secret to multitasking: "I think women are really good at multitasking. Men just cannot do it. My boyfriend cannot talk on the phone and [answer] if I ask him a question or get dressed at the same time. I can do all of that — talk on the phone, answer a question, get dressed, and put my makeup on all at the same time. Women just do, don’t they? I think it’s something to do with babies. When you have a child, you have to be able to multitask."
"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels."
1:rolls eyes:
she's soo cool!! 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' that is awwwesome!! and so true!
omg I'm soo stealing her motto lol
2I loathe Kate Moss. "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" Ugh. Eat a cheeseburger.
3So she is promoting people to starve themselves?
4It scares me that me that young, impressionable girls are going to steal her motto and use it in an unhealthy way. This woman is the poster child for anorexia and drug abuse and we really don't need her twisted opinions being showcased in the media.
5I don't necessarily think she's promoting anorexia. She said "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," not, "Nothing tastes as good as vomiting your last meal." She's promoting willpower, not eating disorders. It's kind of like that old saying, "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips."
6The new catch-cry of the easily impressionable.
I'm glad other feel the same way.
I doubt she's promoting anorexia either, but it's such a stupid comment to make. It's not healthy at all. Promote eating healthy and exercising and moderation. Promote health, not "skinny."
7I really hope she was being sarcastic. i feel like she was...because I want it to be, and that's just me hoping for the positive.
"nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is a famous pro-anorexia motto.
8Wow, I can't believe she actually said that. I wonder what other kind of advice she gives her poor daughter.
9a) Self obsessed? Check
b) Superficiality? Check
c) Lack of empathy for animals? Check
d) Vapid life of parties, fashion shows and shopping? Check
Just in case you are wondering what kind of human being this woman is. She has no redeeming qualities, and no one should aspire to be like her, regardless of what she looks like or wear. Most commenters talk about her great style, and make of the way Mickey Rourke looks, when his heart is bigger than all her Cotwolds mansions.
10If young girls are really going to be that stupid to take it the way that they have to starve themselves , its they`re problem !
11Dont want to be mean or anything but maybe some ppl really should "starve" for a little while . Its sad to look that there are so many literally fat ppl out there :| .
She's right it feels great to stay thin and it's easier to move and breath and you don't get sick. Look around people are as fat as cattle in the USA and it's getting started in childhood now. Being an RN I am all for being thin, I see what fat people do and its all their own fault when their bodies implode with heart disease and diabetes. Fat is not healthy!
12I've never liked her. I don't even understand her appeal. She's never been a pretty girl in my eyes. But after reading the part where she said "if you are a nice person, it will make you look beautiful", I've become liking her a little bit.
13It's hard to find a person nowadays especially in Hollywoods to be really nice or at least trying to act nice (without the cameras around) to others especially the lower ones. So many times, I've wondered if the word "nice" is still in those Hollywood people's dictionary??? So if she can say that, meaning she's has thought of that, meaning she's a nice person. And I 100% agree with her that you can be born drop-dead gorgeous but if you are a BS, then after a while, your pretty face will not attract people anymore. Besides, your eyes are your sould. If you think bad, how can your soul (your eyes) looks pretty?
I am so sick of "fat mummies" (good one, Karl Lagerfeld! *muah*) trying to disctate what's right or not with your warped and backwards views.
Something tells me if Kate Moss said something along the lines of....."Tasty food is worth getting fat for", there would be absolutely no backlash amongst you miserable cows.
Furthermore, it's great she's promoting skinny. Skinny is far healthier than obese. Skinny people are healthier than fatties. Look how young Jared Leto looks!
America has such low life expectancy because 65% of the country is overweight.
Stop being jealous of skinny people!!!
14sheesh ladies, she said right after the quote that "you try and remember but it never works," as in she tries to live by the motto but life doesn't always imitate art. I don't think she's trying to promote anything there, it's similar to what the commenter above referenced with "a moment on the lips..." I see nothing wrong with her using it as her motto to try to stay (reasonably) thin, it is 1. healthy and 2. part of her job.
15I don't think she meant being anorexic. Being skinny does feel good, doesn't every girl feel more sexy when they lose a few pounds for the summer? It doesn't mean you have to look like a skeleton, anyone reasonable would know how to maintain a healthy weight!
16she looks fabu. and her hair looks so pretty down for a change. i like the motto. but as she says, ill never remember it.
17that sentence is aweful. and no, i'm not fat or jealous. it's simply the fact that they ask her for her motto and she comes up with being skinny??? as if it was the most important thing about life. it probably is in hers since being a model is all about being thin and airy in the head. but it's stupid to say that in public. Oh well, what do you expect, she never seemed to be of the smart kind.
18and stop saying she is helping obesity, she doesn't even mention it.
I love her motto! And I agree with a previous poster. I believe it is the new thing now for overweight people to say they are not overweight but "normal" and "healthy". It is not. And neither does it look good. But nowadays everything will be excused, won't it?
19I don't think she meant to promote anorexia either, but that saying is definitely a 'pro-ana' saying. There's another one though, "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels", which I think is better.
20good #10!
21she is shallow, stupid, selfish, cruel to animals! a woman intelligent and sensitive doesn't wear furs! she's very bad exemple for young people, she's toxic and alcoolic and that's evident in a lot of her photos! drug and alcool aged her very much! griffed clothes, money, makeup and nothing other...His eyes are sad and empty. she will end badly...
biarose, I think that's the better way to say it as well. Making the word "skinny" the ideal or goal is the problem. Yes, obesity is an issue here in the US but young girls are also starving themselves. I think we should promote the ideas of a healthy body image and healthy eating--not some pre-set size or shape.
22I'm 29, 5'4", 124 lbs. What I deem average and not a "young girl." When read her motto, I loved it! It's not like I want to be anorexic, or starve myself, but I have found that when I eat that extra piece of pizza, or extra snack during the day, or that cake during a co-workers b-day, I quickly gain 2-3 lbs. These might be minimal numbers, but if I don't tell myself not to eat those extra calories, my body is susceptible for easily gaining. It's nice to have a motto in my head during those weak moments to simply say, "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels," so I won't be disappointed when I weight myself 1 or 2 days later to see I've gained.
I think the majority of these posts are being a little over sensitive. My girl friends and I are always sharing diet and "get thin" tips. We don't live by them, but it's definitely girl talk and nothing to take to heart.
23Keep in mind that skinny in the world of Kate Moss is very different from our idea. I am skinny by all means and purposes (5'5 120)p in great shape, yet would never cut it as a model, as my belly and love handles somewhat stick out of tight jeans no matter how much cross fit I do (think Kurkuova when she was called fat). And yes, I can tell you that a brownie with ice cream and caramel with friends does taste a lot better than the sacrifice it would take from going from fit to fat free (ie, eat only tilapia and celery).
24I agree with Princis11. Kate said her motto "never works." She negated it, not support it. Reading comprehension, people.
25Kate is mushy brain with drug! She's skinny with drug, alcool and smoke, it's not a healty skinny! you can to see her face ad her skin, pimples and wrinkles...and dilated pupils!
26I don't think anyone takes seriously the words of someone that would wear a jacket that ugly. Also, cocaine, vodka, champagne, and cigarettes are not the four food groups. Thanks for the "advice" crackie! Also when she puts her homemade jam on biscuits, scones, and muffins and eats it her "mottoes" don't apply right? Higher than a kite.
27I'm so serious when I say this woman really gets more beautiful as she ages.
28I love Kate. I don't think her motto was intended to promote any eating disorders but it's true.. it's a great feeling when you loose weight and you look your best.
29how can one believe the words of this superficial, millionaire, insensitive toxic woman?
30She does have a faux fur jacket in her Topshop line. Too bad she's not wearing that!
31I agree that we all like ourselves better when we lose those extra pounds or even more. But being unhealthily skinny is models' thing as hangers so its normal for her. It shouldn't be promoted by anyone who can set a role model. Besides, sometimes when I feel really stressed nothing feels better than a piece of chocolate tastes! Life feels better when your not starving
32she ever wears real fur. she has a lot of money and use it to support cruelty on helpless animals only for her vanity!
33and to cultivate cocaine destroy Amazon rainforest!
nice Kate...a very good person!
she really does suck!!!
Kate Moss is gross.
34However, by making the "skinny" comment; she just said what everyone thinks. Too many people focus on being thin when the most important is being healthy.
I hate the way people talk about anorexia like it's leprosy or an STD. It's a killer disease such as cancer, and instead of judging and turning away from someone suffering with it...maybe stop and look to see how we all contribute to it.
It's not so fashionable when young and old men and women die after suffering with it.
Sheeeesh..Society is what kills.
Her hair looks amazing!
35Love the look she had at her Brother's Birthday bash.
I understand what she's saying, and completely agree. She's not advocating anorexia, but rather moderation.
Sure, I can eat that extra slice of pizza, but in the long run I'm going to be happier with a healthier, smaller frame. I think people in the english-speaking world are too stubborn and afraid to speak out and address the fact that our portion sizes and food choices are not okay.
36She could have said, "it's important to avoid empty calories," and then no one would care. It was painfully stupid of her to recite a SPECIFICALLY pro-ana mantra in her stupid interview. Is it that hard to avoid disordered eating proverbs? Yeesh.
37i don't care how skinny she is or what she has to say, all i see is a disgusting fur wh*re
38She didn't come up with that motto... I used to do weight watchers and they would tell us that same thing during meetings.
39That's right, that motto has been around for years. Where have you over-reacting people been? Oh I forgot, you all had your mouths parked in your refrigerators with your big butts sticking out!
40So sad to see so many women being catty toward each other. It's not enough that ads try to make women feel terrible; now women have to make other women feel terrible. I hope that some of the comments on this post are not a reflection of women who have any influence on young women in this world. I don't think our feminist mothers had this in mind when they hoped for solidarity among women.
41KATE LOOKS OUTRAGEOUSLY HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
42The truth=
431) You are. jealous.
2) Americans are the most self indulgent, obese, sinful (i believe the nicer term is Gluttony) people on the EARTH.
3) Stop eating so much (its called portion control)
4) Eat better, be skinny, love life more
@TruthHurts3: I believe the nicer term is gluttonous.
44u guys need to shut up and leave Kate Moss alone and stoip being so sad to her
45shes not saying that girls should vomit up your last meal.
jezz grow up!
I love her motto. Being skinny is so much better than being fat. And those of you that think young girls will follow her example, wee exuse me, but why do they have mommies and daddies? TO LOOK AFTER THEM, so they won't starve themseles or do other nonsense. lizziearden@yahoo.com
