Mary-Kate Is Working, Not Shopping, Obviously

Mary-Kate snuck out of the Manhattan Barneys, Blackberry Curve in hand, yesterday afternoon. She's been talking a lot recently about all her experiences in the tabloids and with the paparazzi, but one thing she told Harper's is that she doesn't shop as much as it looks. She said, "They take photos of us going into our offices, and it’s ‘Mary-Kate and Ashley shopping again. But I’m going to work for eight hours, and we’re working so hard. … It just shows how people want to think of you." Fine, MK, I'll take your word for it - but this looks an awful lot like you're shopping. Just saying.

i believe that they work, and they have a ton of $$.. i think their fashion sense has gone off the deep, but i wouldn't criticize them for shopping. if i had their money, i would shop ALL the time.

She said several things in the Harpers article that were a little far fetched (i.e. why she's always photographed with a starbucks in her hand) and this one is just as ridiculous. She can shop all she wants but it seems childish to deny it.

If it wasn't for the shopping bag I would have sworn she'd stolen merchandise from the store because she looks like a hobo. And why is she apologizing for shopping? They've worked their butts off when they were younger so no one's calling them lazy and if I had their cash I would shop a lot too.
