Kate and Ryder are getting to spend a lot of quality time together while hanging in Australia. It's nice to see Kate still has time for her number one guy between partying with Matt and filming their new movie. And not only is Kate showing off her nice tan while many of us are getting ready for winter, it looks like the duo went for matching hairdo's. So cute.

She is such a pretty girl and I'm jealous of her golden tan, but please for the love of G*d, get that pacifer out of that child's mouth!
1i love that little kid
2I'm wondering if she's ever gonna get his hair cut. Yeesh.
3Between her kid's hair and Brad & AJ's kid's hair.....
what's wrong with the pacifier?
4When I was a kid, it wasn't really accepted for "older" toddlers to still use passies. Nowadays though, it's not really an issue, IMO. I wouldn't do it probably, but to each his own. Hell, I work in retail and there are days when a quick pacifier shoved in some screaming kid's face could really come in handy!!
5*snort*
whatever works in public man...unfortunately its still considered abuse to muzzle children...yet we leash them...i don't get it
6Well you know the old saying.....opinions are like bungholios....everybody's got one.
7this is true... and like bungholios..some people's are full of sh*t...
8*raising my hand, jumping up and down*

10Brat. *snicker*
11Cut his darn hair. Ugh. He totally looks like a girl. Cute, but a girl.
12She still looks damn good.....I love this about her that she does not have to spend 3 hrs just to go out
13Is it his birthday yet??? So she can cut this child's hair!! I don't like the pacifier either. At his age, it can mess up his teeth. Luckily my son quit using one when he was 7 months old. He did it on his own too (he had a cold & couldn't breathe so he wouldn't take it anymore).
14That's a nice tan. I think the long hair on the boy is cute.
15He looks just like his Dad there. I think the long hair is a religious thing for Kate. She will cut it eventually. I wonder how Ryder will react to that. I was lucky that my Sonny gave up his binky on his own too. At only 4 months!
16It's much better than him sucking his thumb!
17yeah she'll cut it when he's three. i love long hair on little boys...but I'm just a hippie like that.
18He looks so chilled out here...just lookin' around, hanging out in his stroller
I think that kid is going to have a complex when he grows up....Am I boy or a girl? Am I boy or a girl?
What's with the long hair on a toddler? Yick.
19I'm one of those people that can't stand the binky in the mouth past the age of one. I can't help but think that when the child is that old and still sucking on that thing it's due to parent laziness or the parent giving the child too much control in the relationship. The day after my son turned one, I refused to give it to him. He fussed for one day then forgot that it ever existed. The end. It's probably a lot easier to shop in ritzy Beverly Hills botiques when you can cork your kid.
20As ar as the hair, that doesn't really bug me that much. It's only hair. It's better than the Maddox Mullet.
I want to be that tan again. Leave the kid alone! Maybe he likes having long hair
21That kid is gonna be such a spoiled brat....we'll see him on the news getting high and trashing clubs I tell ya!
The rumor was that he cries when she tries to cut his hair, right? if he has her by the "hair" now at 4yrs or whatever age he is...imagine as a teenager?????
TERROR WITH FEET!
22I think she looks great. She's so beautiful. I do agree about the pacifier comment because my daughter is now 4 and when she was 1 the doctor said to ween her off of them and I just threw them all away that day. I believe it messes up their teeth or something.
23How old is he now? Is she in some kind of wierd religion that prohibits hair cuts until age 10?
24And on the pacifier thing, our pediatric dentist told me that the pacifier doesn't begin to affect teeth until after the age of 4, so whatever. Also some children have high sucking needs, my middle child has an oral thing and needs to put things in his mouth. Having something in his mouth is comforting to him, and if he's upset just chewing gum will help him to calm down.
We have gone over the hair issue in basically EVERY Kate/Ryder post...she isn't cutting it until he is 3.
25It is a nod to her mother's Jewish faith...even though Goldie Hawn is now a practicing Buddhist...and all of us know Jewish folks out there, even some very devout ones...and none of us have ever heard of not cutting hair until age 3. Bizarre.
Somehow I do not picture her as a hasidic Jew or whatever excuse she is using not to cut his hair. She should just come out and say she doens't want to cut it because it's her decision.
26I agree bluesuze, she just doesn't want to cut it,unfortunately
27the kid looks like dad, maybe a haircut would make him look cuter, and a big kid like that looks goofy with a pacifer !
she is so pretty & has a nice tan. ryder is SO adorable!!!
28my daughter uses a pacifier sometimes still. It calms her down when she is hyper.... and like someone said least he aint sucking his thumb...
29Ryder is gonna be the LEAST spoiled kid in hollywood!! his mom is awesomely down to earth & grandma & grandpa (goldie & Kurt) are supr laid back & cool. this lil guy is my favorite celeb kid...
30I always forget that he's a boy. a lot of the pix of him he looks more like a girl. Is it just me or what?
31ummm... this girl is cute... oh wait its a boy? well sh*t... cut the damn child's hair kate!!!
32Not just you, Rainey! I thought Ryder was a girl... I never followed Kate until her split with Chris (right?).
33I can't believe that Ryder is being scrutinized for having a pacifier! To each thier own when it comes to parenting. I'll leave it to his momma to decide when it goes. I've heard that thumbsucking/pacifier won't mess up teeth until the age of 4. . . baby teeth, you know?
34Maybe we are all being fooled and Ryder is really a GIRL!
35Why make your kid fugly on purpose?
36I'm getting used to the hair. Its cute.
As far as binkies and strollers for older kids go, I try to withhold judgment. You never know if a kid you are seeing (and judging) has developmental disabilities or has difficulties with walking long distances for some reason. In their case, we do know that we generally see Ryder walking about, sans binkie, interacting with Mom and others. He's probably just tired or they're having a long day or he's not feeling well. My kids didn't have the binkie or stroller at that age, but my kids didn't travel the world hounded by paparazzi.
37I would love to have a tan like Kate! Unfortunately I am very fair skinned and don't tan well at all, I just burn.
38I love Kate's natural look about her
39awwww ryder's hippie hair is fantastic hahaha
If Ryder where a little girl and 'her' mother had 'her' hair cut in a very short pixie cut, I doubt that we would be having the same discussion about hair lenght. We have a double standard where mothers and their little girls hair are concerned. My mother kept my hair very short in a pixie cut when I was small. I was a BIG tomboy and my neighbor friend would ask me everyday, "Are you a boy or a girl?" She later apologized. It did not shape me into who I am today. Unless we attend worship with or have spiritual discussions with Kate, we have no idea what her beliefs are or aren't. As far as the pacifier goes, I was an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant for 7 years, the pacifier will have no lasting effects on his orthedonture and if it does I'm sure his parents can afford braces. Ryder is going through a divorce also and if sucking on a pacifier helps him who are we to judge. At least his pacifier is rubber instead of some adults who pick cigarrettes or alcohol or drugs. I doubt it is very easy being a mother going through a divorce with a job that requires travel and the whole ordeal being made public by photographers that follow you around 24/7. And let's let the kid grow up before we decide that he is going to be a juvenile delinquent. Peace to all.
40for g-ds sake, she is a hippie. Hippies have long hair. Its not a big deal. He is named after a Grateful Dead song!
41Amen!
42Oh please get rid of the pacifier. The kid is what 3. I can deal with a one year old or 18 months but not past that. It just looks horrible, just like a 3 year old carrying around a bottle. Not to mention what it does to there teeth.
