Phenominal movie... by far outdid the first. It stayed so close to the book and was beautifully shot. If I hadn't already dedicated my heart to Edward, Jacob would have stolen it instantly with Taylor Lautner's amazing job. My one and only complaint... they made Edward look awful.... hopefully he looks more like himself in Eclipse
1I agree with Silver-Edward looked bad, and not talking about when he went to kill himself.. hopefully they correct that in Eclipse. Otherwise BIG improvement over Twilight-highly entertaining and some surprises even after all the trailers, clips and pics passed around on Twitter like hot potatoes. LOVED Kristen-best part of the movie, hands down.
2It lived up to my expectations, it was awesome! I think Edward looked absolutely gorgeous, I don't think he could ever look bad in my book! I like that it has some humor in it because it kind of balances out the heartbreaking parts. Eclipse is going to be incredible, can't wait until June 30th now!
3OME!!! This movie really rocked i was blown away K Stew really wow she is so talented!!!
4Fans will LOVE it!! I really enjoyed it! The movie follows the novel so closely. I also agree that the humor is a great addition. Bella is in such a deep depression and the humor seems to lighten things. Kristen did an outstanding job. Her portrayal was identical to the description given in the text. I'm ready to go and see it again!! =)
5LMAO, so Robert Pattinson is the biggest new star in Hollywood, eclipsing Meagan Fox, Zac Effron, Miley, Shia, etc. Part of why lot's of people watched it was just to see him, and this movie shattered all the records.
I know that infuriates you haters. LOL!!!!!
6this is a movie for the Team Jacob fans, so if your a Team Edward fan like me your only going to think its pretty good, but i personally liked Twilight better, Eclipse is going to be the best of all 4 movies
7The movie so far beat the Harry Potter opening night. HUGE money for the installment.
8Sucky pure eye candy movie with no talents and no storyline.
9OK, yes im the crazy fan that went out at 12:30am with my sis and two of my friends and still got up for school!!! I loved the ,ovie and cannot wait till eclipse comes out! I LOVED the humor in it! it just made it 10 times bettter! I personal think that Jacob was the hottest on in the movie! when he was shirtless in the rain...........Whoa. That was the SEXIEST thing i have ever seen!!!! But that not the only reson i loved it!!!! Bring on JUNE 30!!!!!!!!
:)
:) i will be there!!!
10I was sooooo HAPPY with this movie! Totally outdid the first one.
11The acting was even better this time around- as if everyone has gotten comfortable with their characters.
I expected Edward to look bad during the end of the movie because he had been living in a depression without Bella- so it was all part of his role
I really don't think people gave Taylor enough credit for this role. I know we all saw the previews of him shirtless but that boy got jacked up for this role and I think he did a great job getting us to all fall in love with his character.(his shirtless moments were even more incredible during that scene in the rain....I am 30 and he is only 17 so I am trying not to think about it).
When reading New Moon I hated Jacob and was a total Team Edward but after watching the movie you couldn't help but feel a part of Team Jacob.
THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING ABOUT NEW MOON WAS..... Edward only appeared in 36 minutes of it but the good news is he was shirtless for 12 of those minutes
Only 222 more days till Eclipse! Can't wait!
I loved loved loved this movie, even the hubby didn't think it was a total waste ha-ha and he felt bad for Jacob. I also have to say great ending even though they cut it off right after (the whole audience groaned), it definitely makes me anxious for it to be June already.
12I loved the movie. What great performances from Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as Bella and Jacob. Lautner's bigger size was more than matched by his acting ability. Lautner's Jacob as the sunny "beautiful" friend that Bella loves and needs comes across perfectly. They were so believable together and more than met my expectations.
Chris Weitz did a superb job of directing the actors and pacing the movie. I never felt confused or disappointed and more than once I got that WOW feeling when it was obvious they really nailed scenes that could of been melodramtic disasters. This movie has special effects, but like the book it is dialogue-driven and Weitz pulls it off.
It is great to see a teen actor like Stewart who can portray painful or confusing emotions without overdoing it. Stewart's Bella is the non-cynical vulnerable and deeply in love and hurting character we know from the books. Anyone who has suffered teenage heartbreak like Bella can relate to the feelings *ouch* -- So Kristen's solid performance gives these emotions the seriousness they certainly deserve without the melodrama.
13i think the film was amazing and r-patz looks fab as do all the cast loved it seeing it again on tues
14i loooved to moon so much i saw it at 12 in thursaday and it was great i only got to sleep like an hour to 45 minutes and get up at 5 but it was totally worth it i have read all the books and completly agree that they matched up perfectly and not addihg some of the quotes was good because if they had it would have been totally cheesy i mean of course it-sounded good in our head but not from real actors and also like vannesac i am completely a team Edward all the way but it made me kinda like Jacob even thought i hate him when reading the book the reason for that is most likely because hes played by the beautiful Taylor lautner where as the book Jacob isn't described as so gorgeous hes described as OK but non comparable to Edward
15Was as close to the book as can be in the allotted time movie wise, with the exception they really need to consider finding a new director! Too slow in some parts, too brief in others. The acting seemed borderline authentic,Edward was too brooding and Bella was almost comatose,Jacob was up and down...but I guess if I'd just found out I was a werewolf I'd be a little freaked too! Too little time spent on making the new characters more in depth. The make-up was over done, the contacts they used were horrific, the wigs in Twilight were harder to spot, but in New Moon the wigs looked as though they were purchased from the clearance bin at the Halloween store the day after Halloween! People complain that Twilight was too dark, hard to see scenes. New Moon was too light in parts where darker would have been better, the sense of things in the dark or dimly lit areas were lost. The darkness had been a great part of creating ambiance in the movie Twilight. The beauty of the characters was lost in this movie. In Twilight Edward looked like a real person,a little on the pale side, but had the most beautiful eyes you could just possibly lovingly stare into for hours, it made him sexy in an untouchable sorta way. Even the bloodthirsty vampires looked better with the darker red eyes from Twilight than this brilliant red crap they substituted in this film. Poor Dakota Fanning! Jane in the book was ominous and could inflict pain on anybody and she enjoyed her job. Dakota did a great job in the acting department her lines, though a small amount were direct and she has the Jane stare down pat. The "Little Red Riding Hood" cape, white tights, and little black shoes and those AWFUL contact lenses turned the book character of Jane into somewhat of a joke! Now Goth her out a little with knee-high leather boots, a darker longer cape with a hood, and the original "thirsty" eyes and you have a force to reckon with! All the vampires this time were overdone badly, and looked like psychotic escapees from a bad zombie movie! I guess they decided to play up the werewolves this time, because with the exception of the bad wig on Jacob, the wolf-pack (for lack of a better word) was buff, tan, and looking good! I don't know why they made the vampires so fake and ugly looking, hidden agenda maybe? I'm sure all the Twi-hards as they put it,(once again for lack of a better word),blinded by their undying love for the fantasy of the actors or their characters thought this was the best movie ever, but as far as I see the director and whoever else approved of the new character looks should be unemployed. I read all 4 books in 3 days and even though New Moon was close in content to the book on screen, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are way longer and detailed,so as each movie goes on, re-creation and staying true to Stephanie Meyers books is going to be a true cinematographic challenge. At the rate it's going now, I'd be mad if I was her! The vampires in her books had a beautiful, almost seductive, quality to them. That image was all but trashed in New Moon. With all the money they spent with the CGI werewolf transformations,I was truely expecting more. I heard Eclipse is already finished and due out in June. I think the same director was directing that one too, which makes me fearful that it will be the same thrown together bunch of mess New Moon was. They have turned this whole Twilight thing into a teen sensational franchise. But the thing is they are making these same teens look like idiots if the quality of the last movie in the series doesn't improve. Trends change, teens get bored and sooner or later if something keeps on sucking, they lose interest. They are feeding off the idea they got the teens hooked on the sensationalism of Twilight, they will watch it crappy or not. That is pitiful, but also the way big business goes nowdays. It will be interesting to see if this comes back to bite them in the butt, with mostly empty theaters by the time Breaking Dawn releases.
