Ryan Seacrest put his best hosting face forward at last night's Emmy Awards, but it was the round stage that really stole the show. The concept was cool, but it definitely made for some awkward moments, right? The Rainn Wilson/Kanye West version of Don't Forget The Lyrics was a highlight, along with Steve Carell "stealing" Ricky Gervais' Emmy. Dempsey = McDreamier than ever, yes? Christina/Tony also did a great job at a show that was obviously paying homage to Bennett in a lot of ways (icymi, check out the performance here). Hopefully the Jersey Boys tribute to The Sopranos made Tony Soprano Proud. Check out Buzz's take on the big show, but what did you think about it? Highlights? Lowlights? Did Seacrest make you laugh?

To see a ton more pictures of the show from Alec Baldwin to Ryan's silly outfit to Jon Stewart with Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert just read more

Kanye reminds me Diddy. Always with sunglasses on!!!!! I think he's a handsome man (minus the glasses). NOTE TO KANYE: STOP WEARING THOSE FUGLY GLASSES ON CARPETS!!!!!!! Thanks
1Typo: KANYE REMINDS ME OF DIDDY
2PS: That GORGEOUS red tone of Mary Louise-Parker's dress looks fabulous on her!!!!
3Ryan doing a gay joke just seem hypercritical...don't you think?
4Isn't he questionable already without the little costume.
I really meant hypocritical.
5arghhh i can't believe i missed the emmy's
6The award for hottest man of the night goes to Kyle Chandler. I am still bitter that Friday Night Lights was not nominated for anything, considering it is the best show on television. It just goes to show you that these awards shows mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of the world and all these celebrities are, are a bunch of self-congratulatory idiots. There are US soldiers risking their lives in the middle east right now and these idiots are crying about how much it means to them to win for best supporting actress. Please.
7I thought the awards were horrible, self depreciating and repetitive. Ryan Seacrest was awful, thank god we barely saw him. The best parts were with John Stewart and Stephen Colbert.
8seacrest's joke about paula was reallyyy funny because of her reaction! loved it.
9I agree with GloWorm..Kanye needs to take off those glasses!!
I think it was overall a good show..I liked the musical performances...and I thought Sally Field had a pretty darn good speech considering some words were censored of it because she was talking about the war in Iraq and our government..
Sally!!
10fleurfairy: would you rather everyone sit around and cry about how sad we are about whats going on in Iraq? thats a situation that none of us can do anything about at the moment except voice our concerns, which some of them did... and to these people its more than just an little award its their life work, a passion. it means something to them.. calm down.
11Seacrest sucked!
12I didn't bother to watch.. did I miss anything good?
13I just think these stars live in their own little bubble and don't know or care what is going on in the real world sometimes. I don't think we should all be crying, but millions of people do more important things.
14I forgot that it was on and just happened upon it while flipping channels. I did not like the round stage - i think the audience should be in front of the host, presenters and winners. Who wants to look at someone's back while they are talking to and looking at people across from you? What I saw of the show was very boring. Kanye - don't like him. He was not funny. Love Sally Field and I am very glad she won. Don't know how I feel about her getting political, but she at least speaks intelligently about her beliefsn (minus the curse words). Unlike Kanye.
15not sad that i missed this.
16I have already seen toooooo many stories on pop about it.
the most hilarious bit was the Colbert Report's video for Best Writing...all the writers slapping Stephen Colbert...I must've rewinded and watched that part like 5 times!!
17No, you didn't miss anything spectacular. I liked the musical number with the guys singing--barbershop quartet-ish or whatever it was was good. Rainn and Kanye's bit was pretty funny. I thought Helen Mirren looked gorge! although on my tv that dress came out a little more silvery the first time I saw it. But I live in the hicks with no high def. I felt all the product tie-ins were awful. I mean , the Heroes guy with the Apple laptop and the Myspace Dude giving an award to Al Gore. That whole thing was so smug, self-congratulatory I flipped the channels for awhile.
18I agree with Cymone. It's about passion and most of these stars really do care about the important stuff. It's not all about glitz and glamour. They bring awareness to the table.
Hi tatti33
19I think that the Emmy's was a lot better than I expected, and Ryan wasn't as big of a douce as I thought he would be, he even made me laugh once or twice!
20I didn't find the show all that exciting. Ryan did NOT make me laugh. Then again, he rarely does. I like him. He's generic but cute. He's a good host, whatever.
Jerry Seinfeld's routine was LAME!! I laughed more watching his show. I smirked when he said something about staying home for two years. But his delievery sucked. Has it always sucked? I dunno.
Highlights? I really liked the Jersey Boys. Sally Field was great! Umm... Oh, though I'm not a Kanye fan, I cracked up when he said "I never win." At least he can make fun of himself. Queen Latifa's roots segement made me cry. We still watch that once a year. Amazing isn't it? When I saw the cast taking the stage I was SO EXCITED!! CHICKEN GEORGE! It was cool that my oldest son recognized them also. **PROUD MAMA MOMENT**
I haven't seen much talk on SUGAR about ROOTS. Maybe I missed it...
21didnt watch it....snoozefest!
However caught Kanye's Skit on youtube! Lurved it hahah
22you go kanye!!
I thought that whole skit of the actors from The Office talking about Steve Carrell's jealousy was HILARIOUS!!! And the little skit about "Our Favorite George Bush Moments" was off the wall!!! So funny!!!!
23HAHAHAHAHAHA I MEANT RAY ROMANO! OMG, I can't believe I confused them. I'm such a D O R K!!
24I agree catpoetess. The ROOTS segment was very touching especially when they each commented on how the power of television can make a difference. Beautiful moment.
25beautiful Xtina & her soulful voice is love!
26i thought the tony/christina performance was a snoozefest. and yeah, ray romano was not funny, but i never think he is.
i thought the highlight was steve running up to steal the emmy. very funny. and the rainn/kanye skit.
the round stage seemed kind of strange. i don't think the actors were a big fan. i know i wouldn't want to be seated behind the action the whole night.
27oh yeah, and i liked the roots moment. yay for levar burton!
28The Emmy's and the Oscars back in the day were so much better and had so much class. It actually meant something if you won one. The ones of today are thrown together and no one really takes them seriously. I didn't watch because now it's only a place where egos go to compete against other egos and who can out stage who. I'm not gonna waste me time, I've already wasted enough of it on here commenting about it.
29The Roots part was cool, as was the Sopranos cast getting up. The Jersy Boys thing was ok, and I liked Rainn/Kanye but not as much as the COlbert/Stewart/Carrell part. All of them jumping up and down like little boys made me laugh out loud.
30* waste MY time
31I really liked the moment with Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell. It was totally unexpected and really funny. I also liked Wayne Brady telling Kanye that he picked a bad time to learn proper English. LoL I thought it was really cute that Katherine Higel corrected the announcer on how to pronounce her last name and also stated that her mom thought she didn’t have a shot in hell.
32The show was decent. It was ridiculous that Ryan Seacrest was hosting "And the award for most over-exposed and under-talented personality goes to...RYAN SEACREST!!". He was so out of his element. And what was with all the gay jokes? Trying to over-compensate for something Ryan?
The ladies looked lovely, Kanye is a STUD, and I nominate the next Emmys to be all about Steve Carrel, Steven Colbert, and Jon Stewart. For sure the three funniest people the entire night. I was crying I was laughing so hard when Steve Carrel stole Ricky Gervais' award.
33Didnt watch...didnt care. Why was Kanye even there??
I did hear about Sally being bleeped for saying something about if Mothers ruled the world there would be no God-damned war in Iraq. Or something like that...but honestly...its true. I know i wouldnt let my sons go.
34I didn't watch the Emmys. I like some awards shows, but I don't watch enough TV (not the kind they give these awards for, anyway) for the Emmys to be interesting to me.
35"i thought the tony/christina performance was a snoozefest."
i agree ^
and wtf why was it only like 1 minute long? christina's voice was impressive and all but it was so boring.
rain was funny when he was competing with kanye LOL.
i was surprised katherine heigl won too
"I really liked the moment with Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell. It was totally unexpected and really funny"
LOL it was hilarious steve accepted the award he didn't win
#32 I AGREE
and oh yeah SEACREST SUCKS!!!!!
36It's funny because when Ricky Gervais won, I had just told my bf "Too bad Steve Carell didn't win because I'd love to see the 3 of them up there together", and then Colbert and Stewart gave Gervais's award away to Carell. I thought that was fantastic. They are all adorable and I wish they had won more awards. I also liked the Kanye/Rainn Wilson skit, the Bush bloopers, and the Jersey Boys tribute to the Sopranos. Not all of my favorites won awards, but it was worth watching on my DVR because I just skipped over the boring parts and the commercials. I'm not a big fan of Seacrest, but I thought he did OK. I prefer Ellen or Conan though.
37OMG rainn wilson hahaha i love him.
38"you can be my black kate moss tonight"
looooooooooooooooove it.
i didnt watch the emmys.. i only watch 3 out of the 182738172831 tv series being nominated hehe
39You know, maybe it is just me, but TV actors and actresses seem to take themselves a lot less seriously then 'movie stars'.
40This is what made the Emmys bearable this year.
The group seems like a large family.
Maybe that is what makes them such great actors, but at least they were less stiff looking than some of the other awards shows.
I rooted when the Roots cast appeared!
