I have a friend with really curly hair and as soon as she gave birth until she finished breast feeding her hair went straight... maybe it's something like that with her...

I too want to know how she gets her hair to look so great. I have those "Felicity Curls" myself and sure wouldn't mind being able to have my hair look like this once in a while!! I've had four babies and that didn't do it for me!

I love how she's kep her life very low key.

She looks terrific, and I think she's one of the rare women in show business who can say that she's naturally lean and be honest about it.

There is a japanese technique that a lot of women use. It permanently straightens your hair...like "normal" straight hair. You get roots that grow in curly that you would have to have maintanced like you do your color. I hear this procedure is very expensive.

I have curly hair, and it kind of irks me when women like Keri and Nicole Kidman always straighten their hair. Curly hair is beautiful, and I think conforming to one kind of beauty is boring. I love the fact that when I walk into a room I don't have to try to stand out in a unique way. I understand wanting to mix things up and be straight haired every once in a while...but Keri is NEVER curly anymore. Seems fake to me.

I personally think Keri looks much older with straight hair. I also think naturally curly hair looks damaged when it is straightened. My motto is, celebrate what you've got.

I am black (not completely, but mostly) so i have tight curls ..not afrolike either just a bunch of very defined curls and well all the women in my fam used to straighten it and I refused to do it after i tried a couple times because it didn't help and it only looked worse.
I get what you're saying Jillnes but you have to remember that even curly hair is different maybe yours is easier to style or maybe you have more time and patiences, the truth is rarely used to let my hair down. My hair was always pulled up in bun because it just looked bad otherwise. I tried every product you can imagine, and the worst part is it never seemed to grom more than shoulder length because the curls are so tight they'd always look shorter that they were.
So a week ago I decided to take a risk because I was in rut, and I was completely sick of pulling my hair into a damn bun every day.
I tried the japanese straighteneing, which isn't recommended for black people because black hair can't take the whole process apparently, I went in scared as hell because I though maybe my hair would just fall off, the lady said it wouldn't end up completely straight because my hair is incredibly curly. I tried because my hair is more curly than it is kinky and let me say, that thing is a miracle. I get what you're trying to say but for women who just get tired of it, its a great solution, my hair is straight when let airdry naturally and if i flat iron it it looks like jennifer aniston hair. I can tell you one thing no matter how good the weather and how many antifrizz products i used my hair was never this straight.

Jillness, I agree with you that your curls should be celebrated. But, as one with curly hair yourself, you must admit to the occasional days of "I wish it were straight!" I have finally come to terms that my hair is and always will be very, very curly. It's part of what makes me me. It's been 34 years of curls - including the terrible teen years when all it did was frizz - and the years of dryness and damage. Those were back in the days before all of these current products made to help our curls. I did at one point cut it back to a really, really cute pixie style, but now is the time to grow it back long. I anticipate a long and gruelling road, but I've decided not to fight the curl anymore! I'm almost to my shoulders now. . . Arg! Curls!!!!! So. Many. Curls.

I love felicity! I relate to the curly hair stories mentioned above...and have had many a day where I wish that I could have straight hair (so MANY different styles to choose from with straight hair). But I am also all about being natural....and my curls are that....so I've learned to live with them.
