Sarah Michelle Gellar is looking fabulous on the cover of the October issue of Self Magazine. She's always been one of Hollywood's more petite stars, but in the article she gives a sneak peek at her eating habits - and it's not what you'd expect. SMG is also full of surprises in the interview, revealing that she's a lot more down-to-earth than you'd think. Here's more:
- On her bike:
"Not only is it bright pink with the bell and streamers and the whole thing, but it has Hello Kitty tires. Every time I leave my apartment, my doorman just shakes his head."- On shopping:
"I take my reusable bag to Whole Foods, so I get a discount. I go to Bloomingdale's on double-reward days. And I always print my dry cleaning coupons before I go."- On her love for thank-you notes:
"I write them for everything, because I know how I feel when I get one in the mail. I'm a gadget person, but I don't e-mail. E-mail is for 'What time is the flight?' I do it myself. It's my writing on the envelope, and I buy the stamps."
It sounds like SMG hasn't let Hollywood go to her head. Between her good eye for a bargain and love for long meals, SMG sounds just like a fun girlfriend.

1I like her. She doesn't seek attention! And she has excellent fashion sense.
2Now I just love her!!! I always love the SMG postings!!!

6....and she's still Married! Thats enough to make me like her right there.

10I love her. She does seem a lot more grounded than most celebs.
11She looks cute and I love SMG. I agree she does seem more grounded than other other celebs. Plus her and Freddie are such a great couple.
12she's so humble & gorgeous
13aww i love me some SMG!! she is too cute!
14Love her, but I can't read the interview the letters r 2 small. = : FOGEY :

@ the hello kitty bike story. Why haven't we ever seen a pic of this?
20Oh, she looks so cute! I miss watching her on Buffy every week.
21I love Buffy—er, Sarah—but wasn't she just telling Lucky how she buys Louboutins every week? Maybe coupon-cutting is how she can afford them.
22oh really bellasugar
23She seems like a sweet girl!
24Yay, SMG! I miss Buffy so much. I hope to see her in a great movie role, soon!
25love that blue top!!
26i buy expensive stuff and i clip coupons. nothing wrong with that!
27SMG has talked in the past about how she grew up poor before she made it big on AMC, once coupon clipper always a coupon clipper
28she looks so cute:D
29I take me reusable bags to the supermarket, won't spend more than $50 (and that's pushing it) for a pair of jeans, but my food budget is about twice what it could be because I love good cheese and bread and organic fruit. Priorities, baby!
30love her! can't wait til my issue comes in the mail
31Wasn't SMG supposed to be in a new movie? I think it was the movie version of the book 'A Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing'. I even remember seeing a picture of filming in a magazine a while back. Anyone know what happened to that?
nyaradzom2001 - Its been a while since I've seen Buffy but I think Buffy and Spike did hook up. A few times. After the show moved to UPN and she was all resurrected from the dead. Then he was in love with her and all.
32Yah I read that in Lucky too.
33what happened to her hubby? has his career ended since they wed?
34zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
funny post title though!
35dont care what anyone says, LOVE HER!!!!
36LOL at her quote on her bike.
37I love her too. I remember he had that show freddie (her husband) but then their contract wasnt renewed, which SUCKS because it was funny. I miss Buffy, go get willow and get ur behinds back on the UPN...oh excuse me, CW
38Having such a bike at her age and enjoining it so much is so unconventional that it even gets kind of cute! After all, I respect people that follow their dreams no matter what (and no matter when
)!!
39angelcakesugar: The movie was renamed "Suburban Girl" and due to some weird rights thing, it's going straight to video because Coppola bought the rights to the book and is shooting a movie based on one of the stories. And Buffy and Spike did hook up, but they didn't get into a romantic relationship the way she did with Angel and Riley. I was rooting for Buffy and Principal Wood...
40She's alright. At least she worked to where she got.
41As a huge Buffy fan, I just have to say Angel and Buffy forever. Riley was a big dweeb compared to Angel. I really like how she carries herself in the public as well. Freddie is one lucky guy!!
42Love her!
43Love her... she should came back to tv
44cute. definitely makes me like her more. i haven't seen her in much lately. the last thing i saw was the grudge 2.
45She is real!
46I love stars that have a good head on about life!
LOVE her!!!!!!!!
47That second picture looks so old-school Buffy!
I really love her--she always looks good, and seems very "normal" in my opinion!
48I am listening to my soundtrack right now of "Once More with Feeling"
She did "hook" up with spike, but not in a permanent way, although I think she darn well liked him alot! who wouldnt? sigh,
James Marsters by the way, will be on Without a Trace this season!
49it's been a long time!
