Ben Affleck was still hard at work on the set of He's Just Not That Into You but this time he's without his onscreen bride Jennifer Aniston. Ben was all smiles despite being away from the other Jen in his life who is busy setting up shop in NYC for their family and preparing for her big Broadway debut. In the lastest issue of Marie Claire Jennifer opens up about what makes their marriage work and cute little Violet. Here's more:
- On her marriage: "Ben is not someone who's ever going to blow up on anyone. What I mean is, if he's ever angry with me, he doesn't act out on it in a weird way or yell at me. And I am the same. So we can handle conflict in a very loving and adult way."
- On Violet: "She's pretty awesome. We're in that sweet spot before the terrible twos. She sleeps until 7 a.m. Yeah, we lucked out. My job is great to have as a mom. I get to take long breaks and then work hard in a really concentrated way. During that concentrated time, it sucks, but whatever."
Clearly Jen has been hard at work these days since we haven't had our daily park runs but we bet something else will arise soon. Jennifer really comes across as so down-to-earth in her interview - no wonder Ben's so happy in his marriage as well.

4I think it's because he doesn't have someone trying to make him into someone he's not and using him as arm candy. Both Ben and Jen are down to earth people and I think they make a great couple and are good for each other.

6Jennifer Garner says they don't yell, but she DIDN'T say they never get angry or mad at each other. 'Cause if she did, we'd know it's b.s.!
I wish she shared what her loving and adult way is in settling conflicts.
Even though I come from a family of yellers, when I get angry with my husband, I take the dog for a walk or run an errand. I just need about an hour to let off some steam and get my mind focused on something else. All the while I'm grumbling to my dog or to myself about what a jerk he is and why I'm mad at him and then... either I laugh at myself because I'm mad about something silly OR I can calmly discuss (and he can calmly hear) what's making me upset.
Of course, it's taken me 47 years and previous failed relationships to realize how best communicate my feelings, especially anger!

8That doesn't surprise me because Affleck said himself that he gets passive agressive when he's fed up in a relationship. He's one of those "brewing underneath the surface" types IMO. Everything will seem fine, and the WHAM! out of nowhere he'll start actin' crazy.

12Why do people keep trying to pair Ben with other actresses?? He's married and has a child with Garner. It's fine if you don't like the pairing, but to say he and Rachel McAdams or Jen Aniston would make a better/cuter couple is just wrong.
The interview took place at the Farmer's Market right after Hilton went to jail. The interviewer also wrote that she thought the interviewer was trying to sell her some Paris Hilton something or other...and that's why she didn't say hi the first time and just turned a way. I don't blame her for wanting to ignore that hoopla. I wouldn't want to have to deal with that either. No one can be nice all the time
I think she's a breath of fresh air...at least she has her priorities straight.
13You WANT to see Ben with Rachel McAdams? What is that? I think they're not dolls that you play with, they are people. You can't control their lifes. Ben's married with Jennifer and they don't care if you like or not, they like each other 'cause if they didn't they wouldn't be together.

I like the idea of Affleck and Aniston on screen, it's going to be interesting to see if they have chemistry because they look suprisingly good on screen, but I wouldn't pair them in real life because a) Affleck is married and b) Affleck is married.
I can't take Garner at all but I wouldn't wish for her marriage to break up like that. That's sick.

He probably doesn't yell because he feels guilty about the d/l gambling and whatnot.
Note to interviewers, please ask JenG about her career or her performances because I'm tired of hearing about her husband, kid, and the 'damage' pregnancy did to her body.
I can't say I'm a fan of hers, I'd like to like her but I find her tendency to relationship upgrade to nearest visible alpha co-star a bit conspicuous.

24longhorn - thanks for setting the record straight about why Jen was abrupt with the interviewer! I also agree with you and carolx15 about wanting Ben to be with someone else. Even though the original poster may have meant she would like to see Ben with Rachel on screen (although she wasn't very clear on that) it amazes me how this train of thought gets started. On the other post with Ben, someone did say she wanted to see Ben get together with Jennifer Aniston(off screen) What??? He's married and he has a beautiful daughter with Jen! Geesh.
25We can't really speculate on the marriage of people we don't know, only know of. If they want it to last, it will. Sure sounds like they work at it, so, good for them!

30Ben and Jen G. are a well matched couple. Down to earth low key and beautiful. They both cherish their privacy and don't go out dressed to the nines every day. They dress up for events that warrant it such as charity and/or social events and the red carpet. They seem to be devoted to each other and are parents to a beautiful little girl who appears to be the center of their universe.
31Oh, I forgot to mention that they are both silly. They seems to have a lot fun together. Love that.
