Mike's family is loaded. He's the heir to a large business here in Canada, so I think the family money + hockey money = not such a huge gift to him. Besides, it isn't a super personal gift because he didn't get the idea himself, he took it from her.

It always amazes me when celebs buy each other ridiculously expensive gifts. I think it's a rather lame gift considering money wasn't an object for her and she was going to buy it herself anyway. Sounds like he isn't very original and couldn't think of anything else to buy her.

First..its way to expensive. Second, SUV's are irresponsible! They are too big, use too much gas, and why the heck does anyone need something that big to just drive around? If you are going to be high profile get a hybrid or something that at least gets decent gas milage. You can have class and look good AND be a responsible consumer.

I like Hilary and receiving this gift makes me think they might get serious. I'm just concerned because didn't he used to date Lohan for a sec. A guy's previous girlfriends/flings are important because it gives insight to his personality. I want the best for Hilary so I hope this guy is good.

A $100,000 car to them is probably like a $100-500 gift for us normal people, depending on income. But even if it were actually "too" extravagant, who cares? My boyfriend would buy me the world if he could afford it. (I would be a sweet world leader, don't worry.)

I think that if a guy that I had been dating for only a couple of months gave me an expensive car, that he would ahem... expect something from me in return. Yes they have cash to burn but it's way too extravagant and it seems like they're moving too fast.

They both have cash to burn, so why can't they spend it on each other? A $100,000 car to them probably isn't much, and it's nice to see Hilary getting on with her life, and not suddenly finding out she's gonna be a mother or getting engaged.

I think the car itself is too extravagant, not that the price of the gift was an issue. None of us need to be paying that kind of money for something that is so unnecessary and also harmful to the environment.
