Not feeling the earings...they look kind of heavy and cumbersome. Get a new pair girl! I have kind of been on the line as to whether i like this girl or not....she used to be kind of homely and she has transformed herself well. Still...she almost caved to the LA ideal of too skinny and getting everything surgically altered. I wish her luck though...its tough in LA.

I really don't think much of her looks, she can look pretty if you get the right angle. But she can also look quite fugly. I think her profile, in that photo is quite fugly.
And she truly is a human horse.

I just think Duff is a perfect example of how crazy messed up unfair Hollywood is and how little she had to do herself for her own success.
She has no talent, she's annoying and she's average looking at best.
I watched the E true hwood story on Duff and here is what I learned:
She got her very first job basically because her parents owned land in TX that a movie wanted to shoot on and the Duff sisters were put in it for that reason alone. Then, she and her sister decide they want to move to CA and pursue acting. And their parents actually picked up and moved them to CA and hooked them up in the well known casting director run apartments in Hollywood. Then, their mom worked fulltime on getting her kids cast. Duff comes from wealthy parents to begin with. (they owned a chain of stores). That's how they could afford to pursue their kids' acting careers. (How many people do you know whose parents can move them to Hwood and not have to work but rather spend their days driving the kids to and from auditions?) Their mom also produced a few of their films, I believe, making it easy for them to take the lead role.
Disney hired Duff as Lizzie Mcguire after saying that she absolutely could not act and hired her a coach. Then the show takes off and Duff has a built in fan base which gets her hired in movies, allows her to record bad albums, have her horsey face on the covers of magazines and put out all her own ugly merchandise. Now, she is actually being cast in REAL movies, alongside REALLY talented actors. She should've faded into unemployable former child star territory. That's where she belongs.
Look, for example at Alyssa Milano. She was a pretty girl and a very pretty adult. She has been working since she was very young. But when Who's the Boss ended, she struggled to get work and did a lot of c list movies and cheesy series. Why did she not get thrust into films? She may not be a great actress, but she's still better than Duff. Yesterday's child stars have faded into obscurity, for the most part and then try to make a comeback later. I'd say few are successful in staging a comeback. (Danica Mckellar, Fred Savage, Mayim Byalik, anyone from the Cosby show, growing pains, Boy meets world, full house (minus the olsen brats), family matters, step by step, I can't think of any other shows right now, but these shows were all insanely popular and the child stars VANISHED).
It's because these days, Disney and the tween market have proven to have so much buying power, that any Disney graduate has so much built in fame, they can convince studio execs that there will be a return on their investment in hiring them.
At this point, also, all Duff has to do is play a character so opposite Lizzie Mcguire, that the not very intelligent movie going public will oohh and aahh over how un-lizzie she is and rave about what a great actress she is when in reality, she sucks.
As far as I am concerned, Duff is as untalented, useless and spoiled as Paris Hilton, only she comes from merely very wealthy parents as opposed to heirs to a hotel chain.

I actually saw Material Girls and not only was Hilary awful, she was nominated for (and may have actually won, I don't know) a razzie. Even her sister's acting wasn't as painful to watch. And throughout the movie, I could not get over the uncanny resemblance to a My Little Pony.
Now, look at how High School Musical did so well in the ratings. Look at the success of Hannah Montana and the Jonas brothers (something like that) signing some big disney movie deal. Look at the aly and aj girl getting cast in a real movie.
It's out of control!
My niece is 6 and she is addicted to the Disney channel. ADDICTED. She tells me that Hannah Montana is pretty because she has blonde hair. She knows every character on just about every show. It's mind boggling.
Disney is making so much money and their no talent 'actors' walk away with real careers.
I am just amazed at how long and far Horsey Duff has been able to coast, off of one cheesy tv show for kids.
I saw her dancing with the stars performance a few months back, and if she thinks what she does count as performing, entertaining, hard work or talent, she is seriously misinformed. It was one of the worse lip syncing performances I have ever seen. She had no energy no charisma, nothing. It was unnerving how bad it was.

One more thing to note is that when child stars become child stars, it's really the parents who have done the hard work and sacrificing and manuevering. I have met people (living in southern CA) who take their kids for auditions and home school them up until they get their big break and it is 100% the parents doing all the work. To the kid, it's just their life. They don't really know any different. It's just normal and routine to them.
If these kids had to do it on their own at 18 (or whatever), they'd struggle and most likely fail.
Especially in a sea of bland faced, barely mediocre blond girls, HDUFF would get nowhere, if she had to do it on her own and not as a child actor auditioning for cheesy child star tv roles, but as an adult actor--she just couldn't compete with really talented actors.
