I completely agree with Zahara Pitt,do you know how many asian babies have been adopted in the last 3 decades?Then suddenly a few African kids are adopted and it sparks outrage...whatever.I have a feeling these kids are going to be looked after and most importantly,loved.

i'm glad celebs are adopting and making it more mainstream. i've wanted to adopt for as long as i can remember and whenever i told people about it they looked at me like i was nuts. that look was followed by questions about whether or not i can have kids (so not anyone's business!) and why i would ever want a kid that wasn't "mine." now that "you're nuts" look is followed by the question of whether my husband & i want to adopt just because celebrities are doing it. i'd much rather have to answer that question then tell them to politely f*ck off with regards to my fertility.

Who cares what country she was born in, the fact is she got a mom. i don't think celebs are making adoption more mainstream as people have been adopting way before the times of AJ and her brood, it's just that people now look to other countries and it's more accessible to single women as the times have moved forward.

I guess people see things differently. She doesn't look anything like Zahara to me. She is equally as adorable, but they definitely don't look alike. Africa is one of the uniquely "untouched" continents where you can see people and can almost regionally place them. I'm probably off, but this girl appears to probably be from a southern African location...of course I could be WAY, WAY off. But she definitely doesn't look Ethiopian...as Zahara does!!!

I agree that adoption has been going on for AGES...long before Jolie adopted Maddox!!! But, for some reason I sense a new animosity to the adoption of children from African nations. The true colors start appearing. As I said before on another post, NOBODY said anything negative when Sheryl Crow adopted her white American son, nor when Sharon Stone adopted her 2 white American boys...it's disgusting the state of race in America, and the world at large!!!

My animosity is to the way the media plays on the word Africa in adoptions like a kid from frica is a bigger deal than a kid from Asia or somehow different because they were born on African soil. I hate that, i really hate that! And for me also it's that it seems Africa is the continent du jour right now. WE have all these celebs going to "heal" or "bring attention" and I'm like motherf**ker please Asia and South America also have problems. I get so worked up. I know we have major problems but we aren't all as awful as we are protryed in the media. And she does seem to be more like a baby from Southern Africa, her complexion culd make her from Botswana or Soth Africa.

tiabia def right she doesn't look like she's from Ethiopia at all def from southern Africa - just like you can tell from what part an Asian person is from i.e India, China etc ... same with Africa - it's a continent consisting of different coutries!

you know whats really funny there is a good chance that the little girl was born in america. who car where she came from or what color she is. I bet her mother doesnt so why should we. What really matter is that a child has found family and love and protection and i wish that every star who wasnt crazt would adopt a couple of children.
