I think they are releasing it early in case she's institutionalized by November. Plus a lot of singers with real talent have an album coming out on Nov 13, so they moved it up to a week with less competition, because all the other albums will probably sell better.

I thought about buying her CD...but I dont know yet..I was thinking of getting her greatest hits CD..but I may opt for buying the Grey's Anatomy season 1 DVD set or Cruel Intentions DVD

I won't buy her CD but I probably will end up listening to the songs off of the CD on the internet. I do like her song Gimme More but who knows how the rest of the CD will be.

Kacie!!! WHAT? Why would you buy her cd? All it does is tell producers/writers that their best material should be sold to her!! (because it will be heard, not because she is the most talented person to sing them).

Even if you don't like her as a person, buying her cd tells the biz that you do. (At least wait to buy it the 2nd week!).

She actually moved dates because Celine Dion's cd was expected to kick her cd's bootie. Jive didn't want her humiliated. If she is in a slow week, she might do well. Ugh.

Rumor has is that Celine Dion is scheduled to release her CD on Nov 13 that's why Brit's release was moved to Oct 30. Celine is tough competition and maybe Brit was a bit intimidated.

Ironically, she's shopping for skin care products. And yet...

I will NOT, no way, no how, spend a penny on her. If you're really curious and don't want to give her the album sales credit, you can wait a few days and find it in the used bins, or if you don't have a store that carries used music, online at half. com or eBay. A promo or used copy won't register as a sale.

That said, I'm not buying one of those either.

The songs I have heard from the cd, I genuinely don't like. "Gimme More" is the best song on there, by far. Someone said "Radar" was the 2nd best, but I thought it was terrible!

I listened to it with someone else, and we both turned our heads and looked at each other like, "What is this crap?". Seriously, no bueno.

Are you all getting your info from Perez? You can't be serious - Celine Dion and Britney have two completely different target audiences. 99.9% of the people buying Britney would NOT be buying Celine and vice versa. *shakes head*

Lets use logic here, okay? If the label has done no promotion for Britney's album why on earth would they care about her not making sales? If they're not doing promotion, they don't care about how the album does, and if they don't care how the album does, there is no reason to move the release date.

All of her songs have leaked. If you read any of the blogs, there are people, may not include you or anyone you know but there ARE people out there, who LOVE the songs. If you are getting positive feedback, hell yeah you want to release the album while the gossip is hot and people are talking about it - it'll lead to fans of the songs buying it and getting cleaner versions of the songs they're liking and it'll encourage those curious about the songs to buy it because hey, everyone is talking about it.

Put the brit hate aside and its simple logic.

All she does is shop at lame stores and wear horrible outfits?? It's like absolutely nothing goes on in her little head.
So with all her money everyday she: wakes up throws on clothes, goes to starbucks, goes shopping for random stuff, flirts with the paps...it's almost robotic it's really scary.

BTW, Piece of Me, Heaven on Earth/Your are hot tracks. Radar isn't all that but its catchy. Combine that with Gimme More and you've got 4 hits. That's enough to get people interested enough to buy the album as a whole.

Bad behavior, computerized voice, drug use/drinking, bad fashion/skin/hair choices aside, people want something to sing with and tap their foot to. Her tracks will do that. She's got good producers and song writers and that's all that matters when it comes down to sales.

Tia, I used to HATE popular music (I'm former music snob/techno & house head) and would go on rants about all things wrong with pop music and how awful it was for the industry. I eventually realized that no matter how much it can suck and how fake it can be, its still going to sell because its catchy and simple.

I then got off my soapbox and gave in to some of the stuff I'd have screamed and lectured about a few years ago. I was a #1 Britney hater for most of her career. Swear on the Holy Bible!!!!

I fully admit to liking some crappy music nowadays because its catchy and well...I can't help but sing along or bob my head. I know its not ground breaking beats or the lyrics aren't totally amazing, but it gives me something to sing along to and really, that's all that matters to most people. I also listen to Tori Amos and Rise Against and Mozart and ridiculously obscure IDM that would have most people scratching their heads. All music is relevant no matter how computerized or crappy it is. It all has its place whether we'd like it to or not.
