That's infuriating that they'd take that dog away. Come on now...The dog was given to a loving family - Its not like she dumped the dog in a back alley and left it to fend for itself.

As for Ellen, while it is upsetting that the dog was taken away, Ellen and others need to understand that there is a contract involved with adopting a pet, and it's not that easy to "give" your pet away. I also believe that pet adoption agencies and humane societies have pretty strict laws during the month of October!!!

I doubt the dog will be put down...the family just has to go through the correct avenues in the adoption process. And Ellen needs to follow the rules...that would mean that I can go adopt a cat for my devil worshiping friend, who has a history and is unable to adopt, but has all sorts of evil in mind for the cat...aren't you glad that there are measure involved to NOT allow people to so easy give away a pet!!!

I don't understand why they couldn't check out the new home rather than immediately take the dog away.

I hope that the family is going to get that dog back. I would highly doubt that she would just get rid of the dog unless she was sure that the family was going to take care of it.
I understand the rules, especially around Halloween, but I hope that the shelter can come to some sort of arrangement.

I guess in the contract it states that if Ellen couldnt keep the dog that she had to phone the place and they would take it back, that she couldnt just get rid of it. I understand where they are coming from, some Pet adoption places actually go and check out the houses, people etc so that they are placing the pets with the right people, BUT this is a situation where they should have made an exception.

I remember that when I saw T.I being Punk´d by Ashton I was really surprised that he had been arrested once, since he acted so polite and honest like the typical personal incapable of breaking the law… Now his in trouble again!

I understand the adoption agencies stance to a certain extent, but sometimes I feel that something like this actually discourages animal adoption. When it's easier to get a dog from a puppy mill or back yard breeder, and you feel like the adoption agency is actually hostile to you adopting a pet... THAT's when problems occur.
I'm all for checking and interviewing prospective owners but some adoption agencies go to far, making people feel like criminals for doing the right thing.
