She and her new sidekick spent the afternoon together around town and when night fell, the pop tart stopped by her most favorite place in the world, the gas station. Seriously, she needs gas more than anyone ever. It's like she drives around LA for a living, which now that I think about it she kind of does. 15chris-no we dont usually hate on our friends for going through hard times. But when that person continues to make bad choice after bad choice, and chooses not to listen to ANYONE, and pushes every single good influence out of thier life, and if deemed an unfit mother by the court of law, and still goes out partying, and still continues to flash her lady bits everywhere amongst MANY other things...it makes it very hard to be supportive of that person.
16kook-of course she does. she hasnt had a hit record in years, she hasnt gone on tour in years, she doesnt have any endorsements..how else would she be making money? SHe is her own endorsment, so she has to stay in the public eye by any means possible, and that includes making deals with the paps.

20I agree with Chris. And it's not so much that any of us hate her, it is just that she doesn't do anything that warrants this attention. She is only staying in the public eye because SHE so desperately needs it. We would support her if she got herself - career, parenting skills, hair, makeup and clothes - together.
If you have friends who make bad choice after bad choice after bad choice, refusing to listen to reason, refusing to take any advice and continuing to make mistakes, you may not hate them but you WOULD distance yourselves from them. You'd have to otherwise you become an enabler.

You don't know Britney! She doesn't know you, she doesn't care about you, and she has never been there for you the way a real "i actually know you" friend would.
No one is obligated to be a pop star. People don't HAVE to support her simply because she was popular at one time. Obviously, if she cared about her fans she would give them something to stand behind, not her lame video and VMA performance that she put no time or effort into.
(If, as Dallas Austin said, she knew the night before she wasn't ready...why wasn't she in rehersals 24/7 instead of partying? Girls have put in all night dance practices for cheerleading camp, for crying out loud! Being a little tired is worth it for giving a good show.)
