Britney is not expected to be in court until this afternoon, but there was a hearing this morning regarding whether or not her deposition would be videotaped. Kevin's lawyers say that written court transcripts don't portray Brit's usual sarcastic tone while Britney's attorney claimed that videotape was unnecessary and would be leaked onto the Internet. In the end, the commissioner ruled that she would not be recorded, but what do you think — should the judge have ruled to videotape Britney's deposition?

no
1There is no reason not to. The only copies would go the parties involved & anyone who leaked it would be in ridiculous amounts of trouble.
2second that no
3Its none of our business.
Everyone has the right to a FAIR and SPEEDY trial.
4This isn't a criminal matter. And Kevin's attorney has been trying to take her depo for a year...
5No...
6Man...I WANNA SEE IT!
7No. She's already an embarassment to her family, no need to keep humiliating them and herself.
8No.... We already know that she sounds stupid..
9I just want to punch her in the face..
10I think it's the lip,but is she smirking..ha ha
11taping a deposition isn't unusual
12no
13one less thing to hear about her!
There's no need to.
Also, I read the Judge is allowing Kaplan's experts to sit in court so they can analyze her body language which is the reason he wanted it recorded in the first place.
14Asking to videotape a deposition is not for the media - it's for the Judge/Court. It has nothing to do with it being "our" business. And sometimes a videotaped deposition is necessary. Off the subject - Britney needs to go away and stay away! Can't stand this bxtch!
15I think it depends what normal protocol is. Why should her case be any different than anyone elses.
16Maybe Britney needs to watch her sarcastic tone. She will be in a court room after all. Does this girl have any concept of the word respect?
17HECKS NO - now, c'mon you guys. That's a private thing between them. I know Brit has gone a little wacko lately, but c'mon - give the girl her space. Everyone is always on her back. Leave her alone and let her clean up her life and be a good mom to her kids.
18No...
That girl definitely go her lips injected though, it's so obvious.
19I don't think rules should be bent for her in any way. If that's standard procedure, then that is what needs to be done. Period. Chick needs a wake up call.
20As much as people would want to see it. It is none of our business what goes on. I don't even know why she is on live in TMZ. Who cares.
21I think that's why Kevin's lawyer wanted it videotaped to show her being sarcastic..to show that she doesn't have respect for anyone in any situation.
22"Asking to videotape a deposition is not for the media - it's for the Judge/Court. It has nothing to do with it being "our" business. And sometimes a videotaped deposition is necessary."
This. If she truly is sounding off in a snotty tone that won't be conveyed via written transcripts, the depo needs to be videotaped.
But anyone who leaks it is beyond disgusting.
23The question isn't if it should be videotaped for US and our viewing pleasure. It's if it should be taped for legal proceedings.
24I hate to admit that i would love to see her depo....but hey, its not happening...and im not heartbroken over it. lol.
I just wish they would get their sh*t straight. Those kids need some stability.
25Eh, I wouldn't care if they did. Jillness already mentioned this, but even the Commissioner is not sympathetic:
The Commish said he was not concerned about Britney being videotaped because she seems to court all that with the media. He said, "Your client's concern on paper makes sense, but the ongoing pattern with the media and with the kids doesn't square."
26Good point Greggie!!
27Her parental court hearing- none of our business, the pathetic fact that she got her lips injected- totally ours. They look silly.
28Greggie...Anyone who leaks it is beyond disgusting. However, most of us on websites like these will be first in line to watch. Doesn't that make us just as bad as the leaker?
29Her right to privacy is of no consequence when it comes to a deposition. A deposition is a court proceeding, and court proceedings are open to the public. Depositions are typically videotapped, and this is just another blatant example of a celebrity getting preferential treatment.
30:ooy: i reaaaalllyyyy couldnt care less tbh
31Imagine the depo being taped and Brit-Brit starts waving at it or starts winking at the cameras and starts singing!!!
32I think it is invading privacy however, if someone leaked it onto the internet I would watch lol. But I would never be the one who would leak it.
33
34"Greggie...Anyone who leaks it is beyond disgusting. However, most of us on websites like these will be first in line to watch. Doesn't that make us just as bad as the leaker?"
Yes. However, I remove myself from that "us," because there is a line I draw on the gossip I'll access. Something that blatantly against the law is a big no for me.
And it would likely open any site who posts it up to legal action as well.
35to see or not to see..its still not gonna changed the judges verdict. what ever that is.
36no...
37Justingirl.. congrats on going diamond
38I don't think whether it's videotaped will change the judge's verdict. What it applies to is the record of the case - should his verdict be questioned, he has visible back-up as to why he considered to be disrespectful of court proceedings.
39thanks zahra pitt..im like, FINALLY!!...it seem like it took forever..LOL. and of course i agree with my greggie..LOL
40YES!!! A video tape deposition is so much better than just reading a transcript, and depositions are SEALED so they do not get leaked. If it is leaked just look to the court, videotographer, or the parties involed. It is so much more important to see the body language, you can tell if someone is lying, and you definately catch the sarcasm. That is why we ALWAYS insist of a video tape depo of the Plaintiff at my law firm.
41I would say no to anyone else except Britney. This b*tch is just too much of a train wreck not to watch. It would be great to see the real Britney try to explain herself in that b*tchy, sarcastic way of hers. Would love to see that shiz!
42While it's not unusual to videotape depositions, usually the only record is written transcripts. If they knew in advance that the dep would be videotaped, I'm sure that her lawyers would do their best to prepare her and train her not to use a sarcastic tone.
43I am so sick of this waste of a human life. Please just STOP blogging about her....she's awful. An awful human being.
44i think it should be recorded so there can be some legal record of it. There will still be court reporter typing everything up maybe? i dont know.
45it would be leaked. duh.
46The transcripts can be leaked just as easily as the video.
47Videotaped? No. But voice recorded? Yes. It may not capture her sarcasm fully but I think it'd work. Then again it wouldn't capture her body language and generally that reveals a lot about a person.
48"Asking to videotape a deposition is not for the media - it's for the Judge/Court. It has nothing to do with it being "our" business. And sometimes a videotaped deposition is necessary. "
"The transcripts can be leaked just as easily as the video."
I agree with these statements. We never saw the transcript from her previous visit, so why should we think that a video would be leaked?
If they do it for other cases, they should do it for hers. No reason to get special treatment just because one of the parents is famous.
49No way, leave her alone...
