Dear Sugar
What does it mean when your ex boyfriend calls you back after almost a year? He called me during Christmas and we broke up the February before; he said he wanted to know if I was at home so that he could come by to pay me back some money that I lent him (months ago). When I told him that I was in L.A. visiting family, he asked me if he could drop it off to a friend or someone that would give it to me once I got back. I said no, I couldn't think of anyone, and suggested he mail it to me. He then said, "Mail it to you?" As if I said something terribly wrong. Then he told me that he'd call me back so that he could write my address down, since he was driving. He never called back, and I haven't heard from him since. What did he really want? Dear Don't Mess With Me Mary
He's calling for one reason only and that's to see what you're up to. Most likely he just broke up with someone and he's feeling lonely and sad. Instead of crying or diving into ice cream like girls do, he made a lame call to you which really just makes him look desperate. When you told him to mail you the money, you just burst his bubble. He may or may not even have the money; he was just looking for an excuse to see/talk to you. Don't call him back or try finding him on e-mail - you broke up for a reason, so let sleeping dogs lie.
