Ashley Judd put on a traditional Indian bindi at the premiere of the documentary she worked on, India's Hidden Plague. As the YouthAIDS Global Ambassador, Ashley has been very devoted to raising awareness about the epidemic in India and made a trip to the country back in March. At the premiere she spoke about the growing crisis in India, saying "There is an extraordinary, compelling, urgent problem." The program airs November 30 on the National Geographic Channel as part of World AIDS Day.

great post, pop!!
1nice dress ....anthropologie
2she is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
3she is beautiful and fabulous and I'm setting my TiVo for that program right now...
4good for her
5she looks gorgeous! & it's wonderful she's bringing attention to something she really cares about.
6her make-up looks fantastic!
7Whats with the dot on the forehead, seriously I don't get it when these entertainers think they can just step into another culture so superficially. If she really understood the Hindu meaning behind that symbol she would not be sporting it like its a fashion accesory.
8Ashley Judd is very involved with increasing awareness about HIV and STDs in the US as well. Has been very active for a few years, I actually thought maybe she had given up acting.
Anyway, can't wait to see the documentary. Totally wasn't aware that India, which has so many other disease issues, was facing widespread HIV also.
9She is a good role model. Compare her to the likes of Britney Spears.
10She always looks amazing.
11This dress seems wrong on Ashley...too exotic ON HER, if that makes any sense
12the dress seems a bit big, but it's gorgeous ... just like ashley. i adore her - always have. i am so glad that she's backing this worthy cause and talking about it. i'm sure she is well-informed in regard to bindi-wearing and is not doing it to slight anyone. she's much too focused and intelligent than someone like richard gere! LOL!
13The last documentary she did for YouthAIDS was very moving & inspiring. I plan to watch the one at the end of this month.
14she looks great
but also good to see her involved with such a good
cause, everyone talks about Africa and AIDS, but it is a problem in so many other countries.
the site needs more ppl like Ashley, way more interesting than Britney's legal problems
15I love the Indian look on her....and it's so wonderful that she has stepped forward and helped bring this international matter to light over here.
16Yeah Ashley. The ethnic dress is to bring AWARENESS to where the problem is.
17She's so gorgeous. Just stop talking. I know she's got a brain, but she's also got quite the hefty self-esteem! I heard her on a radio show one morning-GOOD GOD she's was such a snot! That uglies her up a bit to me. I just get so sick of celebrities using their fame to further their issues-Just entertain us!
18I love all of the international focus the celebrities are shining the spot light on. But, don't we have issues in this country?
With all of the international focus on causes for good. I feel our own concerns are becoming invisible.
But kudos to Ashley for her work.
19Make that:
With all of the international focus on causes for good, I feel our own concerns are becoming invisible.
20India's HIV epidemic is way more serious than Africa's. There just seems to be this weird post-colonial guilt that keeps the focus on the African continent.
21She's quite pretty. I always wonder why she isn't a bigger star. She just seems to keep making the same (not very good) movie over and over again.
22She's a great actress, but it seems that her movies are not that, uhm, great. lol
23she's so pretty! i love her hair and make-up in these pics!
24i agree naima. what's with the bindi? it irritated me when gwen stefani was sporting it, and it's irritating now. please, stop adopting things which you don't understand. these actors need to show some respect...
25they need to focus on things in our country too.
26OH! She's in India! Woot, Indians represent! =P
