"Preteen daters more likely to take up smoking: study"

Just as I'm getting my head around the headline [1] that there are preteen daters, it hits me with the information that they're likely to end up smoking.

The study says that girls who started dating early--by eleven or twelve--were nine times more likely than their peers to begin smoking by thirteen years old.

I'd like to know where their parents are: smoking crack and naked wrestling with gators [2]?!
