Katie Holmes deserves a medal! Yesterday morning she ran over 26 miles in the NYC marathon and that night she was looking radiant at a screening of Tom's movie, Lions for Lambs. The actress who had trained for three months, prior to Sunday morning's race, hit the streets in a purple tank, headphones and FDNY baseball hat. At the finish line waiting for Katie were her biggest fans — Tom, Suri and Tom's mom and Katie's parents. It's incredible how fabulous Katie looks posing for pictures after finishing the long intense run. Once back at her Upper East Side hotel, Holmes was asked about how she felt and said, "I'm good, but I'm feeling very tired."
Katie was one of 39,085 who ran the race. To see how long it took Katie and to learn about the amazing new mother who won the race, click here.
Lots more pics of Katie with Tom and Suri at the finish line after the big race and glowing that night supporting her husband, so just read more

That's awesome!
Did she run braless though?
1She really needs a pat on the back...she ran 26.whatever miles without a bra. Either very brave or stupid.
2she must be fit!
3good for her!
4Yay, it must have hurt a lot to run without a bra.
Cute Suri!!!
5Yea for Katie!
6It's good to see a celeb getting in shape with exercise rather than plastic surgery.
7She looks really great after a big run like that!!!!
8I can´t believe she wasn´t wearing a bra. He is scary.
9I wonder if she's doing this training for running away from Tom - as fast as she can!!!!
Tom's still a weirdo, eww. Suri is supercute though, I'm glad she got the looks from her mom ;P But why why whyyyy did Katie NOT wear a bra??
10No bra?? All I can say is OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Running without a bra is not good for your boobs
11I hope he at least let her take a nap between the marathon, lunch at Tavern on the Green, and a movie. That's a pretty long day.
12Run Katie, run!
13Wow, my hat is off to her. That's pretty awesome. BTW, her tank top probably has a built in bra in it - just guessing of course but a lot of those style tank tops have built in shelf bras. Not ultra supportive but Katie isn't massive or anything.
14Respect!!!
15Okay, this girl hasn't too much on the frontside - but braless? Her top doesn't look like a top with a built in bra. It rather looks like simple H&M...
16Its not about being massive in the boob area but the motion you put your boobs through while running can tear connective tissue causing saggy boobs. TMI I know
Shelf bras serve no purpose. They really do nothing.
17Good for her!!
18It is not comfortable to run without a bra.
It's amazing how this hollywood people always look good, specially after running a marathon.
Tom scares me so much!!!
Suri is so cute!!
I just can't believe she ran 26 miles without a bra - I can not run 2 miles without a sport bra. it's like running with Converse shoes. she must be stupid -
19It's more than just the support issue. A really common injury for long distance runners is (trying to put this gently) rubbing on clothing to the point of bleeding. So you would want as little movement as possible, since she was on the move for five and a half hours.
20Way to go Kate! You've got to give her credit for this huge accomplishment.
On the other hand I try so hard not to see the craziness in Tom but it seeps out of every pore in his body! He always no matter what he does, seems to either grab the spotlight for himself or parade Kate around like a child. He just gives me the willies.
21I think I heard that the lady who one just gave birth 12 days ago??? WTF! And you should see her Body!
22Good for her.. but her time wasn't that great...Run Katie, Run and don't look back
23Lol, I mean the lady who WON just gave birth 12 days ago!
24^hotstuff,
She gave birth in January. She started training 12 days after giving birth. Here's what I found:
Radcliffe, 33, who is a full-time runner, gave birth to Isla this past January. She continued training throughout her pregnancy, while closely monitored by her doctor. Just 12 days after giving birth, she was back on the track, though husband Gary says she had some trouble getting back into training.
Later, she suffered a stress fracture to her sacrum, which forced her to take another break from running, relying instead on swimming to keep in shape. Radcliffe trained a remarkably short 10 weeks for Sunday's marathon, logging an equally remarkable 140 miles a week. .

25Anyway, this lady is pretty awesome!
hotstuff, she gave birth in January, but she started running again 12 days after the birth.
26Even if her top had a built in bra, it still would have been painful & unsupportive to run for that long!
27Ok I just got the real story on GMA. The lady who won gave birth 9 months ago and started training 12 days after giving birth! Ok I don't feel like such a slob anymore. Her win is unbelievable though! I think its great that people can run for such a long time. Katie running 5 hrs sounds so hard! Good job!
28Thanks guys I just saw that. I was like whoa 12 days vote this woman for President, lol.
29Yea, the built in might work for a few laps around the track but 26 miles.... ewww.
Here's what I don't get. The winner, a very experienced professional runner, trained 10 weeks and they call that remarkably short. Katie trained 3 months, which is only two weeks longer. That seems like a really short time, especially for someone who hasn't been running regularly. A marathon runner usually more than 50 miles a week to prep, but we never saw Katie running once.
30That should say, "A marathon runner usually runs more than 50 miles a week to prep,...
31That's amazing.
32forget the bra - she needed a jacket? how did she not over-heat???
33No bra....quite unlikely guys. I am an avid runner and from personal experience, those headlights will appear even if you are wearing a sportsbra! Sometimes you can't avoid it. 26.2 miles is quite an accomplishment, let's try to focus on that instead of her appearance for once!
34TMZ has pics of her not wearing a jacket. I guess an assistant ran out with one in the middle of the run, because she wears it crossing the finish line.
The woman who won finished in 2 hours and 23 minutes, Katie finished in 5 hours and 29 minutes, or about 12 minute miles, which is actually the pace for race walking in the Olympics. That's still a lot to maintain for over 5 hours, but it's not a full run.
35huh?no bra!
36she can pull a brit!
Yup we never saw Katie running at all so it just goes to show that all these pics we see of celebs and their so called everyday life should be put into perspective!
37Congratulations to her! Most people can't say they ran a marathon, big accomplishment!
38This is the happiest Ive seen her look in a long time. Good for her...she should have worn a bra though.
39agreed Ginger, 3 months is pretty short. i have run 4 marathons and a typical training program is 16 wks..can be shorter depending on your base (how much you run on a regular basis), but since we never saw Katie run, how much of a base could she have?
40I was at the race cheering runners on and it is so inspiring. My husband and I are runners but not marathoners. I never had the desire. After seeing all of the runners looking so happy and proud, we decided to put in for a bid for next year to try to get in and run it. Just to be a part of the whole excitement of the event. Paula Radcliffe is a phenomenon. She and two other women went by soooooooooooo far before the rest of the runners it was ridiculous. Good for Katie for even attempting it and finishing!
It's amazing if you run it, jog it, walk it, or do all three. It's just an experience. If you read the marathon website it says gospel choirs sing as you run by the churches in one part of town. How cool is that?!
41yay for paula radcliffe, and good for katie, 25 miles! braless though :$
42Wow, what an accomplishment!!!
43Giorgio your so right it sounds like an amazingly hard run and even just walking over the finish line is a huge accomplishment. I saw that a 28 yr old olympic man died at the marathon, so its definitely not easy!
44I hope he allowed her to shower and nap before dragging her around town. Guess he couldn't run as fast and used Suri as his excuse for not participating. I swear he looks gayer by the day.
45Yeah, it's pretty amazing to accomplish that. I don't think I could ever do it.
46LOL Twinkle!
47There are a lot of runs that have live music. The Rock and Roll marathon, which is in several cities, has bands along the way. San Francisco's Bay to Breakers has bands and different types of music. I don't think gospel music would inspire me to move faster. But that marathon is a really cool route.
48Good for her, that can't be easy.
