Vince Vaughn looked typically semi-disheveled bringing his new movie Fred Claus to his hometown of Chicago over the weekend. Though the movie must take place in the North Pole (heh, naturally), much of it was filmed in Vince's home city and at last night's screening he talked about bringing a new cast there to film. Here's more:
"The city's great. The people are great. Everyone I bring here loves working here....I love the fact that Giamatti wore the fat suit and that was fine. I'm a native of Illinois, so I knew I would eat a lot while I was here. I was more authentic than he was when it came to the weight. He had to wear that suit to look convincingly fat. I just needed some deep-dish pizza and some steaks to get into character."
Mmmmm, pizza. These days it looks like Vince has slimmed down since he was at Claus weight and is maybe, just maybe getting back a little bit of that appeal? Fred Claus may not have me running for the ticket counter (especially since the previews just have me annoyed that he's reusing the "let's make some bad decisions" line from Wedding Crashers), but I'll always have a soft spot for scruffy Vince.

5i read a review of this today and it said the movie is "a nightmere before christmas" and discribed how unhappy everyone in the movie is (a fighting santa?). i had been looking forward to this, but i think we'll skip it.

9Vince is so super hot when he is lean -- his face is amazing. He just looks fat, tired and gross. Work out Vince, the rest of your fellow actors and actresses are. Oh but wait, isn't there a double standard in Hollywood???? I miss the old thin Vince. MUCH cuter and sexy.

11I too love Vince - and I like him a little chunky rather than skinny "Swingers" Vince Vaughn. To me, he was cutest when he had a guest spot on Sex And The City. (I love that whole subplot when they go to LA and the fact that he was in it just made it so much better). But, I agree that the "make some bad decisions" line doesn't need to be reused all that much. He used it in The Break Up as well.
