Eva Longoria showed sympathy for the Writers Guild of America strikers yesterday afternoon with pizza while Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy picked up signs and joined the crowd outside the Desperate Housewives set. DH will officially shut down production tomorrow, being the first show to do so. Buzz is keeping us up to date on how the strike will affect our favorite shows — including the news that 24 is delayed indefinitely and The Office only has two more episodes before it goes into reruns. I can only imagine how hard it is for the writers, who are sacrificing paychecks that pale in comparison to the stars on their shows. It's a little bit heartening that actors like Eva are supporting the people who are there to feed her the amazing plot lines she and her colleagues get to work with. For everyone's sake, hopefully the two sides are able to negotiate a better deal soon.
Lots more images of Eva, Felicity and William H. Macy so read more

1You know Eva's lips aren't touching that pizza!
2GO WGA!!!
The producers are being complete jerks. There is no reason they shouldn't get adequate compensation for DVD sales of their material!
3Eva will do anything to get in front the camera, wouldn't she? Huffman goes on the line, Eva tells people she'll be addressing them. Oy.
4Ummm, but didn't we see pictures of Eva crossing the picket line?
5It's nice to see the actors out there supporting the WGA without which they would not have shows to begin with.
6preech on sister preech, love her top
7Actually, the Office shut down production yesterday since Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson refused to cross the line.
8I love Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy...they seem like really good people.
9Since this is a sweeps month, a lot of top shows are going to show sucky ratings because they are in repeats, which means their ad rates next year are going to skew low.
10GO EVA!!!
11It's nice to see that Eva came out fully made up *eyeroll*
12Love Eva Longoria. She always has on cute outfits!
13oh no, not DH, and the office too? PAY THE DAMN WRITERS ALREADY.
14GO PEOPLE..
This stinks!! I love this show. I hope they just pay the writers and everything moves on!!
15Forget the writers and actors...what about all the other people who depend on making the shows to make a living...the crews, the make-up people, etc.
Hopefully, they can come to a decision soon.
16Italian Jem's right, Eva crossed the picket line and then tried to make amends with Domino's...lame... How did they reply? "No justice, no pizza!" and "This isn't the piece of pie we meant!"
17she's very beautiful, but I don't get what she's doing.
18Didn't even read the post...Eva is a waste of space, who finally realized it. Now, she's shoving Domino's in writer's faces?? Pathetic...her manager/agent/publicist obviously told her to do it. Sad.
19Eva's plain and simple just a camera hog... not food hog bc we all now she does not eat... heehee
20Writers are really only concerned about other writers crossing the picket line. (See the giant inflatable rat with Tina Fey and other east coast scribes outside 30 Rock, where TODAY SHOW writers--who belong to a different union--were still inside and working.)
Actors are contractually obligated to keep shooting until there are no more scripts, so that's why they're joining the picket lines _after_ their sets have shut down.
And the writers are happy to have them.
Actors and directors are keenly interested in this strike. They depend on residuals too, and the contracts for the Screen Actors' Guild and the Directors' Guild of America will both expire in the next year or so. The outcome the WGA negotiations will likely impact the bargaining position of both SAG and the DGA.
Another thing writers are happy to have? Pizza.
21It isn't that they aren't getting DVD sales it's that they aren't getting the internet sales. The actors, directors, OR writers.
But yes I would like to add that you need to fix; DH IS NOT the first to shut down. Steve Carell wasn't going to the set even before the strike officially started. And Jenna Fisher was sent boxes from her trailer (all of her stuff was cleaned out) today.
I hope it ends soon.
I think we all need to support it though. Change our avatars to help. Something!
22self-important actors (macy, huffman), my favorite species.
23SO the pizza is lame but really, Eva, you spent how much on your wedding cake and you sprung for Domino's? Talk about adding insult to injury...
24dominos is gross. couldnt they afford pizza hut?
25karma!
26It's nice to see actors supporting writers!!
27Its nice to see her supporting them.
I mean, how hard is it to adequately pay these people for their work? Creativity doesn't come easy, and people have been a true success (considering how hard it is to break in the industry for this profession) with a salary that does not meet their needs. For everyone's sake, please come to an agreement already.
28She gave them pizza guys--no big deal! I mean what did you want her to do bring them caviar just because she could afford it?!?! Yes she had a lavish wedding, she was just making a nice gesture--no reason to read into it!
29i hope this writers strike end soon.
30Don't eat the pizza Eva! your double chin is growing lol
31Really?!
32Shut down! Wow!
One, Eva crossed picket lines earlier - didnt she? I also dont find her to be sincere. Maybe because she irks me. Could be me. LOLOL
Yay to William H and my girl Felicity, I love them.
33Idk, is it sincere, or do the actors who join the picket lines have as much if not more to gain by pretending to join the strike.
I mean I'm sure they want to get back to work and get paid too. And what the hell else are they gonna do anyways, they probably just drop in for the photo op on their way to a $300 lunch somewhere.
Seems to be a good way to get some positive free publicity.
34Shocking, Eva's front and center.
And brings sh*tty pizza.
35I support the writers because without them there is no hit show - they deserve to be fully rewarded for their skill!!! And heck yeah the actors better support the writers too because without them they have no hit show and therefore no big paycheck!!
36Woooo Hooooo The show is shut down. Lets get some freshness going.
37Glad to see they're supporting the writers.
38Many actors are CHOOSING to picket and stand with the writer's guild (like Katherine Heigl) because they find the strike important too. Eva did not have to show up and work, and any actor who does cross that picket like should be black-balled from the industry.
39please someone can tell me wht is going on here??
40why is everyone knocking eva for giving out pizza or going to work? she is out there right, i mean im not a fan of hers but jeez call a spade a spade
41Hahahaha, that is such a funny picture of William H. Macy XD
