A mingling of Hollywood's youngest and most experienced came together over the weekend to celebrate some of the most respected members in showbiz at the Kennedy Center in DC. Five greats were honored: Dolly Parton, Steven Spielberg, Smokey Robinson, Andrew Lloyd Webber and conductor Zubin Mehta for their contributions to American culture and the arts. Reese and Jessica were both on hand to sing 9 to 5 in a tribute to Dolly Parton, a performance that should have been a happy one. But Jess evidently messed up the song and left the stage in tears. Simpson was on stage to sing Nine to Five as part of the tribute to Dolly Parton, one of the evening's five honorees. Simpson ended her performance abrupty with the words "so nervous" and quickly exited the stage. The stunned audience remained silent, giving her no applause.
Simpson appeared to be crying when she and other singers in the tribute returned to the stage.
How embarrassing! Poor Jess. She's a big fan of Dolly's and was even planning on going to Dollywood to perform with her friend. Hopefully this flub doesn't change her plans. Still, it looks like the show went on without her. It airs Dec. 26th at 9 pm on CBS. 22Bloated? Heavy side? Seriously... THIS is exactly why celebrities and people in general have such weight issues. You're either too skinny, or too fat... Some of you can be the most arrogant people. Let's wait for the next post on Nicole Richie and see how many of you are calling her too skinny and telling her to eat a cheeseburger. I apologize because I realize I am generalizing and not all of you are like that.
On a different note, though I am no longer a fan of Jessica I do think that would be quite embarrasing but in a tiny way I feel like it's a bit of karma.

Maybe Jessica is finally realizing that nobody likes her anymore. She wears such unflattering clothes. She does look top heavy and her ankles are like chicken legs, but I do think she has a nice figure, just the wrong stylist.

29I would have loved to see that. It would have been so awkward, since (from what Pop posted) it was a TRUE star studded event with qualified and proven individuals.
30I saw a tape on this this morning on cnn. It was so funny. You had to see how hard She was trying, the faces she were making were even worse than normal. The she said something into the microphone and went running off stage. Isn't the first thing you learn is to be a professional and keep going as if nothing happened, not run away like a child. Maybe she will blame this on acis reflux like her sister. These Simpleton sisters really need to learn to sing live. She does look very puffy and squishy up top, she needs to get back into the gym and start toning her upper body.
