All of Angelina Jolie's adoptions have had controversy, and this week it's about Zahara. Since the Jolie-Pitts adopted Zahara over two years ago, Angelina's said she is an AIDS orphan. Now, InTouch is saying that they saw her adoption papers and not only is Zahara's mother alive, but she wants to see her daughter. Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, the woman who says she is Zahara's mother, spoke to the magazine. She said,
"I want my daughter to come home to see where she is from. . . . Her grandmother and I both tried very hard to raise her, and I want her to come home to regain her identity.”
Who knows what is making this all come out now, but it's obviously a very touchy and complicated subject. Hopefully it doesn't turn into as big of a mess as we all know these issues can.

15It is so hard to believe this story is true, but if it is I think these adoption agencies need to be researched before adopting any child. Some children are kidnapped and flown to other countries. It's sad.

18If Zahara was adopted through a good agency and it was a valid adoption, it doesn't matter if the mother is alive or not. The mother is Angelina (provided it wasn't a shady adoption).
19This would be my worst nightmare. Why would she step up now after two years? It's not like it's a secret who had your daughter (if she is in fact Z's mom).
20The reasoning is also suspect. Angelina's always educated her kids on where they come from, it's not like she's hiding it. And the grandmother, if I remember correctly, was in on the adoption from the start. So how did the mom and grandma "try to raise her"?
21this isn't the first i've heard of zahrah's birth mother being alive, that was the story early on. as far as the birth mother saying she wants zahrah to "come home" i would personally ignore that. guess what adoption means; new identity!
but since angelina is an international figure she will likely end up going over there, building some fablous home for mothers with children they can't care for and having this woman be some kind of presence in zahara's life.
sort of amazing that the tabloids can reach all the way to a this woman isn't it? makes me sick but i can't help but imagine the round table discussion of how to get this story at that rag. leeches!

It took her 2 YEARS? She was in an orphanage when she got her.
23I can't imagine anyone knowing what really happened or all the circumstances as to why Zahara was put up for adoption except the ones who put her up. I feel sorry for the little girl because she will be torn between the two her whole life. Just because she is adopted doesn't mean she won't ever be curious about her birth mom or where she came from, and she will more than likely love both Angelina and her birth mom, but unless there was something shady about the whole adoption then I don't think the real mom can get her back! It was all so publicized so I wouldn't think Brad and Angie would be part of any 'shadiness' with adoption!
24Adoption doesn't guarantee that you're "torn between two mothers." Knowing who her biological mother is doesn't equate being torn. Unless her biological mother makes it a battle.

26what's up with all of these people abandoning their children and then changing their minds after someone famous adopts them (if this is true)? would the same thing happen if the people adopting the children weren't famous (and couldn't afford to bring the child back to the country he/she was born)?

33I agree Zahara- I dont think they should just give her back to this woman, there was obviously a reason why she was an orphan to begin with. But I think its good for adopted kids to know where they came from, I think it helps to really understand who they are, but taking her away from the family that she has grown up with for the last several years, and Im sure has grown very attached to could be detrimental, expecially when the two living conditions are so vastly different.

35This is actually old I heard this story and saw a picture of the woman about a year ago I don't know if this rumor is true or not. I doubt it but its wrong to say she abandoned her If this claim is true no one knows under what circumstances this woman gave up her child to the orphange, kinda like david his father took him to the orphange because they could provide food for him that doesn't mean he didn't love him or he abandoned him and he still went to vist him also Madonna takes him back back there so he can learn about his culture and see if family once in a while so if this rumor was true it would make sense why she would want her zahara to learn about her culture.

43This should remain a PRIVATE matter, why is this little girl on the front of this magazine?!? This should be taken care of privately and I totally think that the mother is out of line for doing an interview with In Touch. I mean unless this is her only way of reaching out to her daughter, which I doubt it is!!! I feel sorry for Angelina, she's just trying to help out in the world and she's always facing scrutiny. This is really disrespectful. Lowest of the low.

The judge ruled that the woman claiming to be her mother is not the birth mother. Earlier in the summer, another woman had come forward claiming to be the grandmother of Zahara. That claim also proved to be false."
DNA will know....seems iffy considering Angie is a celeb she needs to be careful shes not taken advantage of and the child is used as a pawn.
