We heard about Hayden's emotional attempt to save the dolphins by interfering with a hunt in Japan a few weeks ago, and she talked about it again when she stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres show last week. While playing with Lamborghinis last night Hayden revealed that there is a warrant out for her arrest for trespassing in Japan. So tell us, does Hayden deserve to be arrested?

im torn between yes or maybe..because no...she was trying to do a right thing..and arrresting somebody over that is a lil extreme..and yes because u dont have the right to come into another persons country and regulated something thats common practice in their land. so..arrrest no..fined..maybe.
1but at the end of the day...she was trying to do something right..but a risk is a risk
2"she was trying to do something right..but a risk is a risk"
I agree. If it's their law, it's their law. The motive behind it doesn't change whether or not a law is broken.
3I agree. Alot of times things that are legal, aren't necassarly the most moral thing, but laws are laws and you still need to be respectful of that. I doubt she intentionally broke the law, she probably didn't even think about that while trying to do what she did, but you have to be respectful of other cultures and there right to do things, ecspecially when you are someone famous, who is representing another country....I agree with justingirl1989, jail no, fined maybe.
4They should arrest those people who slaughter those poor dolphins. I watched a show the other night about how many presious reasources China & Japan chew up (both living and non-living) and it was sick.
5Espeically when it came to animals...
I don't like Hayden and it seems that the Heroes thing has really gotten to her head, but a warrant for her arrest is a bit ridiculous.
6You have to be willing to stand up for what you believe in. Even if that means going to jail. So be it. All for the greater good. She did a good thing with her celebrity, showing what they do to dolphins. I personally hope everything works out for her.I hope she doesn't go to jail. She did a great thing.
7As much as the cause was just.. if you break the law in another counrty it shouldn't matter whether you are famous or not..e xpect to pay the price. I guess she will not be going to Japan again anytime soon!
Now Hayden and Shia have even more to talk about.. one arrested for criminal trespass another with a warrant out for criminal trespass. LOL!

I felt bad for those dolphins but I don't like Hayden at all so I put maybe. Little miss "I wish they would have hit me because it would have made more of an impact." I wish the fishermen would have hit this little snot just because she's annoying.
9was it really that right? Here she is, a foreigner, in a foreign land, and openly criticizing their culture and tradition. It's like if foreigners came to the US to protest our comsumption of beef. That wouldn't go over so well. I mean, gee, i know she wants this activist image that is so hot right now, but this was a really frivolous way of going about that. And she leaves right after? Gee, what a way to stick up for your actions.
10She did the right thing in that she stopped somewhat something cruel from happening but she was in Japan and therefore the laws state it's illegal. I would hope she didn't have to go to jail but something tells me if she does this will make her super famous.
11THAT IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS...!!!!
12not even a fine... she was putting her life on the line...for wild life.... SHE SHOULD BE GIVEN AN AWARD..
Im torn aswell, I really like her and know she was trying to do the right thing, but the law is the law, and their laws should be respected.
But really, Japan should do something about the hunting of dolphins!
13I don't agree. I think she did an amazing thing
14I agree with Ashcwebb, they are slaughtering protected animals, Go Hayden!, I´m not her bigger fan,but at least she has done something better than flash her crotch or going to rehab.
15I think it's so damn annoying when people run into countries yes I'm talking about celebs and protest things that have been happening for decades. There are a lot of people trying to make a living and put food on the table while supporting families doing this. What are they goign to do if it's stopped, will all these idiots jump in and support them? think sometimes you have to think before just jumping in. it ain't America.
16if she broke the law, then yes... this should test her commitment to her cause, how far is she willing to go... maybe she should of done her homework before going over there
17"was it really that right? Here she is, a foreigner, in a foreign land, and openly criticizing their culture and tradition."
I agree with this as well.
18I also wonder exactly how accurate she's being. She's the only one stating that there's a "warrant" out for her arrest. For all we know, it's merely a claim for her to pay a fine or something and she's milking it for publicity.
19:rotlf: greggie..i know...celebs at the end of the day are celebs..LOL its all about the media..but hopefully shes not taking this "warrant" lightly.
20i mean
damn! typo
21It's a good cause but not a smart move to put yourself into a situation where you could be arrested. There are safer pro-active approaches. I hope she gets a fine or something minor. I think it's important for everyone (including celebs) to be punished for crimes- even trespassing.
22These disgusting human beings are slaughtering dolphins and whales... and they want to arrest her for trying to save them?
23That is unreal! They should be the ones going to jail!
Well, she DID break the law. It may be a stupid law and maybe she was doing the right thing from a moral standpoint, but a law is a law.
24She should definitely be punished in some way, even if that's an arrest for a day. Someone cannot just go into a foreign country and disobey the law no matter how right her cause may be.
Her actions were ridiculous and shows just how impetuous, naive and young she is.
25I think it's interesting that we (and celebs included) go running to other countries to protest various human and animal rights abuses while failing to ackowledge the ones that occur in our own country. While I do believe world wide human and animal rights abuses deserve ample attention, we should first work towards overcoming the abuses at home before practicing and preaching to others.
She may have had her heart in the right place (as much as I hate to say it, because I also believe it's a publicity stunt) but she didn't go about protesting in the right manner.
26I agree that we shouldn't push our beliefs on other people. I also think that comparing their consumption of dolphin to our consumption of beef simply ridiculous.
27I think the major point is not that they eat dolphin, but how they go about getting it. Also, dolphin meat is Really high in mercury, DDT and other stuff. It can make people sick.
I think that perhaps she should be punished, fined maybe for trespassing. But weren't they out in the water? how is being in the open ocean tresspasing? Except because she's foreign I guess.
If you believe in something you should take action. period.
and it cracks me up to hear people talk about how this shows how young she is or that it was a rash decision. She IS young. That's what being young is all about. Finding causes you believe in, trying to make the world better. And she's critisized for it? I don't care if it's a publicity stunt. It brings attention to things that matter. Isn't that the point? Who cares how it's done?
28rachaelnexus that's exactly right!
29At least she's not flashign her crouch, runnign sover paps feets, and making a moron of herself.
She is doing soemthing GOOD. A celeb. Doing something GOOD.
Give her a break.
Agree with the above that a fine is more appropriate to my way of thinking, but I also think it's terrible that they hunt dolphins, so there you go. I don't like Hayden though so I wouldn't really mind if she went to jail. =)
30yes there should be a warrant out for her arrest in japan because she broke the law out there but no we shoulnt extradite her or anything like that, the warrant is most likely just discourage her and others with her beliefs from returning to japan
31The sad thing is, I could SOOO see the US government giving her up to be imprisoned in Japan, just because she was trying to help the environment.
32Doing a good thing is a valid defense to breaking the laws of another country. People could then argue they were doing a good thing by murdering someone.
33No! This is so not right, she was supposed to be the good girl, she cant be arrested!
34that's odd...i don't think she should be arrested, but are the people she protested with arrested? b/c it's not cool if that's true and she got to leave and come back to her comfy hollywood lifestyle and do press junkits about saving the dolphins
35"The sad thing is, I could SOOO see the US government giving her up to be imprisoned in Japan, just because she was trying to help the environment."
She may like animals but she was mostly trying to gain attention and she did so boo hoo. The government did not tell the silly brat to go in another country and try to rescue dolphins. There are so many other ways she could have helped the enviornment that would not land her in this situation. She made a choice knowing full well this could happen (she said so in 9 billion interviews) so now she has to deal with the backlash.
36Since the dolphin meat is so high in mercury, maybe we should allow them to keep eating it. That way, they can kill themselves off. Then eventually, one of them will go extinct, either those that consume it, or the dolphins themselves.
37Also, if someone wanted to come and protest how we get our beef supply, they would have the right idea. It's not that we eat beef that is so horrible. It's the huge commercial slaughter houses that leave all of the waste to seep into our earth and contaminate our ground water and soil. We do great harm to our planet by enfencing thousands upon thousands of cattle to be butchered. These huge slaughter factories are one of the biggest emitters of methane, which happens to be more damaging than carbon to our atmosphere. In a few decades when those slaughter houses are forced to relocate because the soil is too bad for cows to stand on, that soil will be completely useless, due to all the contaminates put into it.
So, yea, stand up for what you believe in. You should definately attempt to right your own country first. But, remember everyone, America can do no wrong!
She was tresppassing but she did it for a good reason so that is why I voted no. At least if she gets arrested, it is not because of DUI or drugs etc.
38It's call Civil Disobediance
39If you pull something like that you have to be willing to do the time. That's half the impact of the statement you're trying to make.
No; the ones that were killing the animals should be arrested and punished. Hayden was doing a wonderful deed and more people should be like her.
40The fisherman deserve to make a living just like everyone else, but not by slaughtering dolphins. It's just a horrible thing to do. There is other fish in the sea. What about the sweat shops in third world countries having child labor? But, you know those children need that money to help their families survive. I don't know what to think. I mean we slaughter cattle for beef. Isn't that just as horrible. I am by no means a vegetarian. We are all hypocrites really.
41My instinct says that she doesn't deserve arrest, purely on moral principle. I'm all for what she did - for better or worse, she called attention to this issue. How many people in the US were thinking about the welfare of dolphins off the coast of Japan prior to this stunt?
However, people who break the laws in other countries really, really irk me. It's incredibly pig-headed and disrespectful. Since she meant no harm, I think it's best that she just never return to Japan and hopefully that's that where the government is concerned.
42Don't like her much but She did the right thing
43The thing that sickens me is she obviously did it all for the publicity and not because she truly cares. She acts like she's the first person in the world to ever stand up for a cause (though her cause is herself). Attention WH*RE. Makes me wanna throw up.
44I feel bad for her. Her heart was in the right place!
45whether she was doing a good thing or not! THE LAW IS THE LAW!!!
46Its never right for anyone to interfere with another country's tradition. Nothing is being wasted. I know she meant well, but really.
47I'm torn. I believe people should follow the laws of the countries they're in, but as an animal rights activist I absolutely admire what she did to try to help those dolphins. I suppose one thing that comes along with fighting for animal rights is accepting the troubles you encounter while doing so. I think she should accept the punishment with a smile and go right back out there and fight again.
48THANK you Coultry45.
The whole point of Civil Disobedience is to intentionally break laws that you don't feel are right and go take your punishment. Then get out and do it again. Get more people to do it. Eventually you have a situation like Burma where the peacefully disobedient keep coming back after beatings and arrests and tear gas to the point where the world takes notice.
But to intentionally break a law that you don't feel is right and then act shocked when you are handed punishment is just naivete.
49HELL NO.
