Now that Broadway is on strike, Claire Danes is using her time off from starring in Pygmalion to help others in need. Yesterday she helped DonorsChoose.org announce their national expansion. The non-profit helps teachers unite with donors to raise money for public schools, and Claire talked about how important the organization is, saying, "Over the last two years, I have funded many classroom projects on DonorsChoose.org. The creativity of the projects, and the appreciation of the students who benefit, never cease to amaze me." Sounds like Claire has found a way to serve the public as well as making herself feel good, which is the perfect way to give back as far as we're concerned.

3The number one donor was the Tomato Nation spring contest, the founder talks about it on her blog (she also started Television Without Pity, if anyone reads that) and mentions the people who also help out DonorsChoose - including Clair Danes. And it's funny.

5I think she's cute too. I don't know what really goes on behind closed doors in their personal lives but I think she's a good actress. And she's helping out with charities..good for her. And I too think she needs to carry around some blotting papers..LOL!
6I really really dislike her - running off with a pregnant woman's boyfriend has to be at/near the top of the most immoral acts that aren't illegal act.
I don't care how long ago it was and i know it's wrong to judge when u don't know everything about the situation but the woman was 8 months pregnant for crying out loud, even if u don't feel for the mother think about the effect all that stress would have on an unborn child, she just can't be a good person.

8Even though Broadway is on strike, PYGMALION is still performing. It is being presented through the Roundabout Theatre Company, a not-for profit, and under a different union contract.
9I love when celebrities give back but I wish more of them would actually GET INVOLVED and not just donate money. It great either way though.
As for Claire, I want to see her in more!
10Maybe her personal life is not what everyone would agree with, but you have to admire her for helping out.
