Last night was all about the AI alums at the American Music Awards. Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry (and his band) walked away with three glass pyramids apiece while Justin Timberlake won two, but had to accept via satellite. He seemed so thrilled about it, too. Check out the full list of winners here. Fergie got pretty emotional during her acceptance speech for Best Female Artist, but at least she remembered to thank hot Josh watching her from the audience. Alicia Keys didn't win any awards, but her performance was my favorite of the night. Another highlight was Beyonce and Sugarland's version of "Irreplacable," though maybe I just love that song no matter what. That wasn't B's biggest moment though — Usher gave a a sweet speech (but has some reading trouble) giving her the 5th ever special International Artist Award. Congrats to all the artists filling up their mantles with AMA statues.

3The Sugarland-Beyonce version of "Irreplaceable" was awful! It sounded like something you'd hear at a bar once the band's singer is drunk out of her mind...I think I may have just channeled Simon Cowell, but good grief! My ears bled.

6yeah the sugarland irraplaceable thing was BAD! I can't even begin to imagine how bad it might have been if Beyonce hadn't whown up halfway trough. It was just BAD.

I don't know where you have been the last few years, but American Idol alums are at the top of the music industry right now. While it's true that many of the contestants fade to obscurity, its obvious that people like Carrie Underwood and Daughtry aren't going anywhere.
Carrie Underwood wins country music award after country music award and even some non-country awards like IDK, a Grammy?! Plus, she has one of the top two best selling albums of the year (a close second to Nickelback) and every time she puts out a new single or album, she breaks unbelievable records.
If you're a hater, fine, but at least get your facts right.
