The WGA strike pressed on in LA yesterday, bringing out actors like Masi Oka, Ali Larter, and Sandra Oh who headed to the picket lines in support of their writers. Alicia Keys lightened things up a bit by performing her new single, but we all know how serious the issue is for everyone involved. Yesterday marks the last day of picketing before Thanksgiving, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that a compromise can be reached soon. We're already feeling the effects of losing some of our favorite shows so hopefully the writers and producers can make some headway in their scheduled talks next week.
Lots more pics of everyone above plus Jeanne Tripplehorn so just read more
Images include Ali Larter, Alicia Keys, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Jenna Elfman, Masi Oka, Sandra Oh.

I love all the people holding up peace signs. They're trying to get more money not stop the war.
1I'm missing all my shows damn it! This better end on a good note.
2Awww Debra Messing! Love her!
3I soooo miss Will & Grace
Does anyone else think it's odd that they are taking time off from pictking for Thanksgiving? I can understand not doing it on Thanksgiving, but why not today and Friday?
4What happens to all the shows that have stopped filming, like Heroes and The Office? Will the seasons resume filming once the strike is over?
I hope they reach an agreement soon!
5hahahha i can see sandra oh
6This sucks! I hate that these people aren't getting paid the money they deserve, but how am I supossed to get through my week without The Office? :] And I'm wondering too, will shows resume filming when the strike ends, or will we have to wait until NEXT YEAR?
7I am thrilled at the turnout for the rally!!! It is a small sacrifice for the viewers to make to support the writers who create the shows we love while they fight for their fair share of the internet pie. I love that Sandra Oh is right in front leading the charge. And YES to peace signs too!!!
8karisaamy: I was just thinking the same thing.
9Can someone fill me in on the writerd stike and ellen beef???
10"And I'm wondering too, will shows resume filming when the strike ends, or will we have to wait until NEXT YEAR?"
If the strike ends soon, they will resume filming, but they will have to re-hire all of the behind the scenes talent that makes the show possible.
If the strike lasts into January or February and effects pilot season, then you wont see NEW shows until 2009 (no new fall season...it would be delayed until January most likely).
11The Office already fired all their staff. When this is resolved and they want to resume production, there is no guarantee that the fired people will be available to that show, so they probably need to hire and train some new people.
I believe that's why David Letterman is paying all his production people out of his own pocket until the end of the year. He can be up and running as soon as the strike is over, with the people who have worked for him for many years. Of course if the strike goes far into the new year, it might not still be an option.
12Wow - Alicia's really pushing her single lately...
13I love watching my shows too..but maybe it's a good thing for me,it pushes me away from the tv. to spend more time with my family..
14the actors are still millionaries anyways..
15These actors need shows - that's why.
16With Alicia performing an ppl holding up peace signs and picketing... It kinda reminds me of Woodstock or something...
17Why is Alicia performing?
LOL how Debra messing isn't mentioned by name.
18Hellz no I am not thankful for this stike...but I don't watch A LOT of TV to start with soooo...
19I think they are supposed to be v for victory signs not peace signs? Maybe?
Love Sandra Oh... her character on Grey's is the only one I like anymore.
20why cant they be doing this for peace in darfur??????
this of all things, a writers strike, is more important than innocent people dieing?
21I read somewhere that these guys are in talks to coming to a compromise and that it will 'hopefully' be all sorted out soon!
22I see this ending soon. There is no way the networks want to lose all the money they're probably going to lose if this strike goes on much longer. People are going to start renting more movies or watching movie channels because who wants to sit and watch a bunch of re-runs? Re-runs are cool during the day when you're cleaning or cooking or something, but at night you make time for your favorite shows because you want to see what happens next. I love Grey's and The Office, but I don't want to sit and watch the same episodes over and over. Ok, maybe The Office, but not Grey's.
23I hate to say it but does anyone think that at this point some of the actors that are showing up to "support" the writers are actually just trying to get good publicity for themselves?
It seems like its becoming the popular thing to do (bringing them lunch etc.)
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the WGA deserves what they're asking for, but maybe some of the celebrity endorsers seem not-so-genuine.
