the reason i pick no because if she banned her children from reading magazines and watching television..then what makes u think should would allow this? she proabaly dont want her children to be the next linds, brit...but at the same time is very imporatant to support your childrens career. but its madonna..so who knows.

I was reading this story on another blog and read some other things about how Madonna raises her kids, and suddenly I thought of Joan Crawford.

I'm by no means insinuating that Madonna would rail on her kids with wire hangers. But when you restrict a child enough, long enough, the chance that when they grow up enough to rebel, they will... and write a nasty tell all about their upbringing (Ms. Christina Crawford =])

oh and btw i got my sources from a magazine doing an interview with her...she says she the discplianrian..LOL. but it would be nice to lourdes act..only if madge approved.

Maybe however I don't think she would let her act. If she has such strict rules against tv's in the house and no magazines, I doubt she would agree to Lourdes being in such a huge film.

What I do not get is why Madonna is so strict with her children. Why does she not let them watch tv? Is it because of the bad material on tv? If so, well Madonna helped create it....hello she kissed Christina and Britney on tv!

I heard her on an interview a couple weeks back and she said her kids are not going to be allowed to be in the industry, now, i dont know how she can stop them once they turn 18. but she did also mention that lourdes is a VERY good dancer and she doesnt shy away from the limelight

Anyway, I think she would let her do it, but Im sure she will lay down the law before hand. For some reason I was always under the impression that she didnt let her kids watch tv or read magazines because she doesnt want them to read or see stories about her, not because its full of trash...Like musiclvr said, Madge paved the way for alot of the trash and sleeze that is today..

She's a very pretty little girl but Madonna seems to want to keep her kids well protected and all to herself. I think Lourdes would have to wait until she came of age and do it on her own.

Since only British actors are allowed to be cast in Harry Potter films per JK Rowling's film agreement, I seriously doubt this has even the smallest bit of truth. Besides, who would she play in Deathly Hallows? The entire book consists of Harry, Ron, and Hermione camping and running away from Voledmort. Unless they're talking about Half Blood Prince... but that's already started filming.

This picture is very pretty! Beautiful family portrait! The parents and their miniatures! Beautiful kids! I understand why Lourdes would want to be in a Harry Potter movie, it's a kid's dream! As for Madonna letting her... I don't know. It may seem harmless but that's how Lindsay started... But then again, Madonna is not anything like Dina and Lourdes lives in an artistic environment since she was born and both her parents (Madonna and Guy Ritchie) know about show business, the dangers, the glory... She'll be safe, I think. So why not?

The other examples of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, I believe, are examples of lack of or absent parenting. Lynne Spears has said that she regrets not being around more for Britney because she had other children to raise. It has been said that Dina Lohan never enforced any kind of discipline with her daughter. But, at the same time, when you over-parent a child, you could easily get the same results.

I think Madonna would support whatever Lourdes wanted to do career-wise, but I think Madonna wants to protect her kids while they are young. She seems like she would't want to watch Lourdes go through the big child-star drama this young, so it would not surprise me if she didn't allow the movie at this age.

I'd guess the comments about her facial hair are probably largely why she's so restricted. I wouldn't want my child reading stuff like that about herself.

I think Madonna is still too over protective to let her. Maybe not such a bad thing.

Exactly, remedios. Goodness people. She's a kid. Would you want someone talking smack about your child?

Why would she let her act if she doesn't allow TV and tweezers? Madonna strikes me as a person who desires a lot of control over everything around her, I would not be surprised to find out that she is the disciplinarian and that she doesn't want her children under the influence of the entertainment world.

Madonna may say it's to protect her kids, but I don't think her huge ego could stand it if her daughter got better reviews, which wouldn't be difficult to do, considering Madonna's acting history.

It probably hasn't occurred to Madonna that some people can work in the entertainment industry without whoring themselves out the way she did.

Lourdes is one of the most beautiful children I've ever seen. I really hope Madonna keeps her from having a hair on her head touched. Maybe a little eyebrow grooming, but that's it. She's too young for anything else.

And when I say grooming, I mean just the inside corners of the brows tweezed a teensy bit. Otherwise, never pluck your brows, Lourdes! Most women would kill for thick, lush eyebrows like that.

I also think Madonna's a great parent. She really protects them from the spotlight, and after reading the harsh criticism above about her facial hair, it's a good idea to keep her tucked away from the media.

@ the Joan Crawford comment. Hopefully Madonna isn't THAT horrible, but she does seem to have the same personality type as Joan. They both seem(ed) neurotic, hardened and overly disciplined.

You ever see Lourdes' father? She looks EXACTLY like him. And I'm not just saying that cuz he's got a lush unibrow and huge mustache. Lourdes will be a beautiful young lady someday, Harry Potter or not.

Considering that JKR is only hiring english, no way lourdes is getting a part.

Lourdes father does some acting. I saw him in a small part in a Law & Order:CI, which he's done a couple of times. One of his episodes is airing tomorrow afternoon.

She does look a lot like her dad, but I think she got her mom's eyes and brows.

I think Madonna wants her children to be children. It's really hard this day in age to raise children without being small adults. I can understand why she's trying to hold onto that innocence that seems so lost. Rather than seeing the obvious like Not allowing her children to watch regular Television too strict I see it as a way for her children to find activities to fuel creativity like dance, art, literature. Not too mention originality. I'm sure that when the time is right Madonna will support her children with whatever accomplishments they might want to proceed. After all Madge herself is one of the hardest working women in show business and well $$$, so her children could live an anonymously wealthy life. I'd rather that than the spotlight.

But that strict parenting often backfires into a wild teenager or young adult. If Lourdes decides to be a party girl, Madonna doesn't have a lot of credibility to argue otherwise, considering how she pushed the moral lines so much.

Regardless of whether this story is true or not I have such a hard time with Madonna being part of the very problem that she is trying to protect her daughter from. I actually have no problem with the no t.v. and magazine rules but Madonna is one of the first performers that comes to mind that has done some seriously R rated stuff. Going by Madonna standards doesn't that mean as a Mother you would want to keep your child a million miles away from Madonna? Just saying.

Heck no she won't let her act. What if the little brat upstaged her?! There would be hell to pay in that household.
.....even worse, what if Lourdes actually had a talent for acting unlike her mother? Now that's worth putting her in a couple of movies, if I get a vote (which I don't).

I thought the original Lourdes acting story was that Lourdes wanted to be in Harry Potter and thought she'd be really good, but Madonna was completely against it. If so, why would she be into the idea now?
