There is a new movie coming out with Nicole Kidman called The Golden Compass which is supposed to be a "fantasy" kid movie. Well, the guy that wrote it is atheist and the children end up killing God in this movie. Just check out the link

Have you read the books? Then make a judgment for yourself... they are fantastic books but very complex, so the people trying to simplify them down into black and white are really the ones losing out here.

Yeah, I read 'em, so I can know what's going on....about a kid wanting to kill God. Let's just say: glad I didn't pay for the book (library) and not paying to see this movie.

It's not Hollywood's responsibility to decide whether or not a movie is suitable for your child.

^^it's not a real god, it's a fake figurehead god promoted by an evil organization (remember it's fantasy). these books are not for children, they are young adult, even adult books.

I received the same e-mail and was intrigued. I am not some one to denounce something solely based on hear say so I did some researching of my own.

I am not so sure I want the same person in charge of making sure proper grammar is used on book reports to be discussing matters of religion. Personally I feel that is a parent(s) job period.

Of course we all have to learn/search/discover for ourselves and I have done so and decided that though the movie has been washed down from the book version it's still made from a book written by a man that I care not to financially support.

For the record, Keith Urban isn't that short. Nicole Kidman is like 5 foot 10, plus she's wearing heels so she's well over 6 feet tall in these pictures.

Just because it's against the church doesn't mean it's atheist. The books praise good work ethic, conviction, and moral values, unlike many beliefs I can think of.

Oh, and can't wait to see the film.

i remember a time when nicole looked so young and fresh.. now she looks plastic. i don't believe her "i haven't done anything to my face - just stay out of the sun" blah blah blah.. can makeup make you look that frozen? and her lips - ugh..
