Newly engaged Jennifer Love Hewitt posed with her man, Ross McCall, and a parrot on the Hawaii beach yesterday. They both look so happy as a newly affianced couple. Unfortunately, a damper was put on their ecstatic weekend when Jennifer heard about some nasty things being said about her body on the Internet. In response, she posted this on her website:

What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles. I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.
To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini -- put it on and stay strong.

Good for her!
1so the girl has put on like 5 extra pounds in her hips- who cares! she looks fantastic still and it sucks that she has to issue a statement defending herself, especially on such an important weekend to her. but good for her with her statement- i think she said it perfectly.
2I don´t know, I agree with both 1 and 2..
3She's right! I think she's great.
4I think she looks great! I don't understand why women put so much pressure on themselves. It's not for men, because most men like curves! I hope we can get over this stupid idea that you have to look like a 13 year old boy to have a great body.
5good for her
6Yes, she's right.
7Lol bad angle my ass, she's just upset the truth came out that her Hanes campaign is photoshopped to death and that her bubble butt and hips has cellulite.
8she looks a lot better than i do on a beach in hawaii
9You know, she's a bit of hypocrite, since her "acting" career has been largely based on her body, in particular her breasts, which she had no problems in the past allowing the media to scrutinize. Yet now that the publicity on her body has turned negative, she's all distraught.
10Thats a bit uncalled for, Kesh. I think she said the right thing, it's her body, she is healthy and happy and there is AT LEAST one man out there that loves her the way she is.
11You reap what you sow, honey.
12Yes, people are fine with positive comments, and have issues with negative ones. good thing this girl is a robot or something, I mean goodness forbid she have feelings.
13I think it's great that she issued this statement. Good for her. Real women do have curves! However in her complete statement she said that she is a size 2. I find that really hard to believe.
14I think it's sad that she had to defend herself. I think she looks like a normal woman. Maybe she's a bit out of shape but that isn't an excuse for the nasty things written about those pictures. I think we've all become so used to seeing all these skinny scrawny anorexics on TV and in magazines and online that we have forgotten that women are SUPPOSED to have curves. Not all of us are a size 0 nor do we want to be. Shouldn't our lives be about more important things than our dress size? Like how we treat other people?
15While I commend her for speaking out I'm annoyed that she goes through the trouble of saying "put on a bikini put it on and stay strong" and in the same statement she blames "bad angles". These were clearly not bad angles this is just how she looks now. I would have been more impressed if she was that much more honest.
16She looks great and she's so right!!!!!
17I'm just amused. She has a big fat ass and she's embarrassed that now we know about it. I'd be more impressed if she owned up to it. Get on a treadmill if you're going to get so upset about what people say about you.
Biatch!
18xoxo
Yeah bluesuze, I saw that too. And I was like is she implying she's a size 2? I hope not, cuz I mean come on...she's not and if she's so proud she shouldn't lie. Maybe she was just choosing a random size to prove a point, I hope at least.
19Well, her whole statement is not posted here. She first said size 2 is not fat and there is no need to be size zero. Well, she is no size 2 so I'm not sure what she was trying to say there. I think it's great she's comfortable in her body. At the same time I think she keeps coming out on the beach in some "posed" looking activities, i.e. her fiance and her are in matching outfits and she has a parrot on her shoulder.
Stop posing for them!
20I'm proud of her for standing up for herself and being happy with who she is but I'm sad because she shouldn't have to defend what she has. It's called a BODY, not what many people in Hollywood have
21Wow! I feel sorry for her. It must have been horrible and digusting to read all those nasty comments. Most women are extremely sensitive when it comes to body issues.
22if people want to be judgmental then they can know the real reason for their feelings. she looks great and good for her.
23i agree with her, it's sad that she feel the need to defend her body to everyone , i wouldn't , if they don't like it f**k them
24She looks happy & thats all that matters!
25I agree with 1 and 2 as well and I also can't believe some of the comments left on here about her having a 'fat ass'....!! she is a very slim woman!! anyway how boring would it be if we all looked the same...??!!
26Lexie_Kesh: EVERY ad you see is "photshopped to death" not just J. Love-Hewitt's.
27I think it's hilarious that the majority of the criticism is from women, not men. I bet Jennifer Love Hewitt has to beat men off with stick. She has a great figure.
It's also really amusing how cultural this is too. Most caucasian women are the ones slamming her body, trying to say her ass is fat. Hilarious. In my community it's calld PHAT for Pretty Hot And Tempting. I don't at all want a Jessica Simpson pancake a*ss I'm sorry. I also thing cellulite is normal, that's why most of us have it and the only one's deathly afraid of it are women who are afraid of being human. These days it's real easy to be plastic, but there's no sensuality in manufactured perfection.
I'd rather develop a sense of ease with myself and confidence in the way I look then try and hide ever ounce of human imperfection, it's not attractive and it's sickening.
So if Jennifer Love Hewitt is fat then sign me up, because IMO her body is great.
28I'm a mix of 1 and 2.
29Some of you people are disgusting with your comments. Women come in all shapes and sizes and screw anyone, ESPECIALLY other women, who find it necessary to criticize and make nasty comments about someone's body. Women should bolster each other, but they're the worst at tearing each other down over looks. Perfectly toned size 0's - may you stay that way forever. Us less perfectly toned size 10 women wish you luck. As do the size 14, 16, 24, and 32 women out there.
People who know me know that I rarely get on any soapbox (other than thinking Britney Spears is a crappy mother), but having spent so much time researching body dysmorphia and the effects of societal influence on body perception for a series of articles on eating disorders, this kind of thing makes me ill. Sorry.
30i saw those pictures and i felt bad bc she's still got this cute lil figure. dont' get me wrong i love celebrity gossip as much as everyone else but they're people too and i like that she doesnt buy into what everyone else thinks.. that you need to be a skeleton to be "gorge" in hollywood. it sets such a bad body image issue with young girls AND women. i remember reading something that halle berry said about how she keeps herself to slim and she's like well i dont eat after 6 pm. thats all well and good your an actress when youre workign you can say 'ok cut i need to eat something'...if youre at work you can't tell your boss 'oh im sorry i need to go home early to eat bc i can't eat after 5 pm or i'll be fat'. it just is ridiculous
31This is why Feffy is my hero!!! I'm so so proud of her, and I'm also so very happy for her engagement. It's about time she finds a guy to appreciate her! But about her statement, I am proud but I'm also really upset because in no way whatsoever should she have to defend her body. She's gorgeous and she always will be!!
32Padraigin-I agree 100% with what you said!
33I don't think she was "defending" her body at all, just saying "it is what it is and whatever".
34i think she looks great, some of us gain some weight as we get older. she is clearly happy and that is what is important. i really hope some of you who are quick to judge her body and call her fat, think long and hard about what you will do/say if you ever have a daughter who starts to be aware of her body image or god forbid, start to gain weight.
35Agree with Lexie. Instead of defending herself, she should do something about it. She knows she's being photographed... try to look good or don't care at all, JLH.
36It's called being in Love so she has a couple of pounds around her hips and thighs. I think she looks fine. I'm not sure when we are all going to get over the fact that no one is perfect in Hollywood. If they are then it's cause they have had work. I think the main problem that these actors and actress have today is the reader's like myself who enjoy blogs/Tabloids, and read them on a daily basis have the paparazzi on high demand for pictures which then lead to pictures like these and then lead to comments like "Wow she's fat , or look at her thighs". I think in Hollywood there is no Normal. What I've learned is that you either have to be THIN or FAT. There's no space in between because that's reality and they don't want you to sell that image wise just personality wise and by that I mean when celebrities interview in magazines and try to justify their personalities with saying "they are real". In conclusion you would think that a town that has over 200 Fast Food Places and tons of binge eaters they would be a little sympathetic if you gain 5 lbs give or take.
37Yeah I mean she should totally let the paparazzi lead her life. Women totally should not have minds of their own and stand up for themselves.
Ugh.
These comments are sickening
38I think she has always looked great and still does! She has nothing to worry about. It's ok to have flaws, that's what makes us beautiful!
39I said amen sista! *snaps fingers* There are much better things to be worrying about and life is too short NOT to enjoy life!
40So what if she has cellulite. Guess what, SO DO I, and I'm betting a lot of people being nasty to her have it too.
41i am with 1 and 2. she should just be happy.
42I appreciate 'some' of her response but then question why she felt the need to defend her size by saying they were "invasive pictures from bad angles"? Perhaps the pics were NOT bad angles but the reality is she gained weight and has gone from slim to volumputous. JLH -- you don't need to make excuses about being 'fuller' then before. Embrace the pounds and new size COMPLETELY and be confident that you look GREAT without excuses about a camera lense and angle!
43Glad - She stood up for herself and encourages all women to love their bodies! Bravo!
44People always complain about how stars are too skinny and then as soon as they see someone looking relatively normal (I say relatively because I'm sure she is TINY in person) they call them fat. People just want to bash other people. It's ridiculous.
45She's laughable. There are so many contradictions and self-delusion in her statement. Don't get me started. LOL
46"bad angle my ass"
The HD cellulite pictures don't portray what is REAL!!!!!!!!!!!
Just like when I look at my HD TV, the new anchors have more pronounced details than my boyfriend sitting next to me on the couch. The "clarity" of hi-def is actually BETTER than what the human eye usually sees.
So if you would see JLH on the beach, her butt wouldn't look as dimply as it does in a HD picture.
I am SO tired of society blasting women for being natural, and then blasting them when they get surgery to correct it. Most of all I am SO TIRED of WOMEN being so catty to each other. How can we expect society to accept us as we are, if we won't do it for each other?
You people make me dread getting older.
47She looks amazing!! Who cares if, in her down time, she puts on a couple pounds... If you watch her show you can see that she is not fat. My guess would be that these are the worst pics in a series of 200+... She is right, she shouldn't be worrying about this. I hope she stays srong.
48i don't think it was a bad angle.
http://www.wwtdd.com/post.phtml?pk=3193
these pics show her at almost every angle... she def gained weight~ but i guess it looks a lot worse than it is bc she used to be so thin.
49but good for her! i commend her for staying so strong :]
though i'm sure the bad angles dont cause the problem, they just accentuate what her problem areas are...i still do feel for the girl.
she doesn't have the body of a seventeen year old anymore, sucks for her.
