Based on the fact that Jodie has kids with her partner, I'm guessing she is "out" to friends and family. She's been in the public eye almost her whole life, maybe she just wants to keep some part of her life private.

I don't think anyone should feel the need to overtly declare their sexuality. Besides, I don't think Jodie has ever claimed to be straight- she just declines to comment.
