It's no mystery why PETA isn't a fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion choices, considering the twins are often seen wearing fur and have included it in both of their fashion lines. Today, the organization unveiled a new anti-Olsen's effort, including an entire interactive website and an ad campaign to be unveiled at their star on the Walk of Fame.
In addition to rolling out the site and a MySpace page dedicated solely to exposing the "pair of unpleasant, airheaded fur hags" (referring to them as Hairy-Kate and Trashley Trollsen), the organization is also making personal attacks against the twins' weight and physical appearance. So we want to know — do you think PETA is picking on the Olsens too much?

Par for the course. I wouldn't expect anything less from them, and it's why I'd never support hem.

that is kinda low...but wtf?
3PeTA are so immature. what on earth do they expect to accomplish with this nonsense?
4i say no! and i think that picture of them is funny!
5Way too agressive and I don't their remarks will deter the twins from wearing fur!!
6Hairy-Kate and Trashley Trollsen
them names..
7Hell, something like this would make me wear fur more often just to piss off PETA.
8Hahah yea, i think it's a little hurtful too...
9I mean, we are only human...
I have a fur (I inherited it) and I won't BASH someone because they have one - it's not my place.
that is kinda low for PETA to do that
10I'm with you Greggie!
11hairy-kate and trashley? i'm a vegan and i think the whole thing is pretty ridiculous. i think people who choose to wear fur should be called out for such a cruel action, but there's no need to indulge in grade-school namecalling or being mean for no reason, like picking on the olsens for their weight. when PETA pulls stunts like this, it gives vegetarians and vegans a bad name.
12greggie..LOL
13Furry animals are SO cute don't kill them for fur!! Now...is that fat ugly cow not been killed yet I need my steak!!
14wow.. im speechless, shocked and speechless.. wow
15I don't support fur-wearing just as much as the next person, but this is just plain immature and silly.
16I think mentioning their weight when there has been an eating disorder issue is hella tacky and in very poor taste.
17i dont have a problem with them being "targeted" -they show off the furs, so those that dont support "fur" can say their piece, however, shouldnt the picture at least show them WEARING FUR?
18What about Sharon Stone? She wears ALOT more fur than the Olsens do. Im not a fur-wearing supporter either, but when you are trying to get a point across its better done with intelligence and taste. When you come off as being immature, mean and catty your whole point gets lost.
19this is a disgrace. People have this own choices. Since they are well known and wear fur, they shouldn't be targeted
20It's kinda like when they have Pam Anderson with the caption "I'd rather go naked than wear fur."
Shocker. Pam, you'd rather go naked than do just about anything, so you're kinda not all that helpful.
21SpiceG- I was thinking the same thing. They are making such a stink about it, you'd think theyd want to atleast show everyone "hey look at these girls and how much fur they wear" Instead of putting a picture of them looking completly normal. I dont think they thought this out very well.
22this is very childish. I'm pretty sure theres other ways to approach the situation in a professional manner. But this is just unnecessary to take it to a personal level.
23I think fur is gross, but I should start wearing it b/c Peta is Freaking ANNOYING!
24PETA is an extremist organization that will go to terrorist levels to prove their points. And, what most people don't know is that PETA believes in the EXTINCTION of animals as pets. No more dogs or cats for you and I. That's right. They have been known to go to dog shows and unlatch cages and "set dogs free", which really only hurts the dogs in the long and short term. So, before you support PETA know what you are really supporting: Urban terrorists.
25That's mean. PETA is getting a little out of control. I don't wear any fur and don't want to but this makes me want to wear a PETA shirt with a fur coat! And that's a low blow picking on some ones weight when they have an eating disorder.
26Par for the course my rear! This is blantant disrespect for other people's rights. I am all for animals rights but these people are taking it to the extreme. Honestly I applaud them for trying to get people to stop wearing fur, but at the end of the day thats all they can do. They are not only ruining the reputation of their organization, but they are viciously attacking people that they have probably never met. Its rude and completely unwarranted!
27anyone who wears fur -especially celebs as they have a really big influence on what we wear-should be picked on!
28Greggie I was dying with your Pam Anderson comment.
I think it's just childish and immature. No wonder few people take PETA seriously.
29i agree with IAMthefuture. no one should wear Fur, esp not people that others look up to and want to copy.
30"Par for the course my rear!"
I meant it's par for the course for PETA. They're always this extreme.
31
those names are too funny.
@ greggie, they should be so proud to have Pam Anderson on their side
who cares if people wear fur ,it's not our lives.
32I'm all for banning fur, but this is just a dumb way to get the message across.
33I am so sick of Peta!
34And this is just with fur. How about leather and snakeskin and alligator skin?
35I hate those campaigns, I'd rather be naked than wear fur..no,it's just your inner slut wanting to come out..j/k
36I agree with Greggie, I am thinking new coat this year.
37I understand the fur issue,
38but picking on them is low and pathetic
letsgetloud 21 and rosa
39If they're going to do something like this, they need to stay on-topic. Focusing on their weight isn't cool.
40I think they are going to far. I'm totally against fur, but this is just nasty. I work in a clothes shop and we have never sold fur but recently there was a anti-fur demonstration in our street and I had to close the shop because I was just too scared of them!!!!! They just go to far sometimes.
41I'm totally against fur, but PETA is going way to far with this.
42i never really got all the hype about the Olsen twins and why they were so popular. so yeah, go ahead and bash them PETA.
They'll still wear fur and PETA will still campaign against them but you both get great publicity out of it. so really, it's a win-win, no?
43I'm against fur but I think this is immature and childish.
44hahahahahahahahaha letsgetloud21
People in PETA have some SERIOUS problems if they are supporting this crap.
45Ugh I hate PETA (and I'm a vegetarian). They are so immature. And why don't they ever mention leather? I don't understand why they pick on fur-wearers but not people who wear lots of leather. I guess because leather is more socially acceptable. PETA is disgusting.
46They're defintely the perfect target....go for it PETA!
47I for one think it blows. I understand and completely sympathize with PETA that wearing fur is cruel but I don't think it's o.k. to bring in their personal lives. It's very unfair because Linda McCartney would have never wanted this organization to be run this way. PETA is about educating people about animal cruelty and to subject itself to a tabloid level is not educational. If getting people to recognize the evils of fur by exploiting other people personal lives then the McCartney clan should take note after all My My Stella your life hasn't been vegan cakes and white picket fences ...
48why are some people vegetarians? I always wanted to know
49I am a vegetarian, I don't wear leather or fur, and I support animal rights, but this is ridiculous. I don't understand how PETA expects to gain any support whatsoever when they use these sorts of tactics. More and more, PETA does things that make me strongly dislike them and feel more sympathetic towards the celebrities who are actually wearing fur and leather and having other peoples' beliefs shoved down their throats in a really obnoxious, offensive way. Plus, what does the fact that the Olsen twins wear fur have to do with their weight or appearance? Good job on the middle-school-style mud-slinging, PETA! Didn't anyone ever tell you guys that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?
Moreover, I think PETA sort of discredited itself as an organization a few years ago when Pam Anderson, famous Ugg-wearer, was one of their spokespeople. I mean, yeah, sure, she later explained that she didn't know that Uggs were made of animal skin but come on...are you that stupid, Pam? And PETA, can you really justify overlooking that? Guess it just depends on how you feel that day.
