Cameron may be too big to do ads here in the states, but not in Japan. Here's some of her ads for SoftBank Mobile in Tokyo. Whether Cameron is acting or modeling, she is very conscientious of her image. And she understands that as a celebrity, she is a role model for a lot of young fans. She agrees with her The Holiday co-star Kate Winslet that the super-skinny trend needs to be stopped. Here's more:
"I think it's terrifying, it's tragic and sad. I think that it's a sickness, something that's going on in someone's head where their perspective is off. We get ideals from images that we see and there certainly should be more responsibility put on those people who are putting those images out into the world. Let's be a little bit more responsible to what's realistic. I'm a skinny girl, so all my life all I have ever wanted to be is curvaceous and voluptuous, have everything falling out everywhere. Some people... their perception and their perspective is completely askew."

I also love the disclaimer that she's "naturally skinny" just in case anyone was going to accuse her of having an eating disorder. I know this might sound unpopular, but I'm sick and tired of dumb celebrities trying desperately to "do the right thing" so people will see them "doing the right thing." Between Lindsey Lohan's tribute letters and AA pins to Cameron Diaz trying to become the Mother Theresa of eating disorders... give me a break! At least Angelina Jolie does it the right way. She finds a problem in the world and goes over there to help solve it. It must be tough for Cameron Diaz supporting a cause and signing her name after something that somebody else wrote for her.
4Im not the biggest Cameron fan but she actually has done other things. She is huge supporter of environmental issues. I personally think she could do more in that area. She helped raise money for an elephant whos mother was killed by poachers to get a good habitat to live in. She also had her show Trippin to talk about the environmental issues of the world.
I know it doesnt seem like much specially compared to Angelina Jolie but I think of all the stars out there Diaz is definitly not the worst

That's exactly the type of charity that I woud expect Cameron Diaz to get involved in. Some people watch a "Save the Children" infomercial and they want to get involved in helping the starving children in African, others watch "Dumbo" on the Disney Channel and decide that they want a baby elephant!!! Only thing is, Cameron can't be the elephant's mommy while living in Malibu (or Brentwood or Hollywood or whatevs) so she helps the elephant find ANOTHER mommy! Yaaaay!!!
Helping to raise money for elephants? What did she have to do, sign a paper and call some friends? There are homeless people starving in our streets and Cameron Diaz helps a baby elephant.
I can't wait until she sees "Apocalypto" and decides that she wants to save the Mayan Empire...

8Just because Cameron chooses to help animals and the environment instead of people does not make her a bad person. I know there are horrible things happening to people around the world but there are equally as horrible atorcities happening to animals and their habitats. I commend her for helping the enivironment and trying to raise awareness. Cameron actually wanted to be a zoologist (like me) before she became a model and an actress. So coming from someone who wants to a zoologist herself I say we could use more people like her to help bring environmental issues to the for-front.

I'm biased, though. Have you seen Cameron's earlier work? My brother told me about this years ago, but I didn't believe him until recently. Go to ifilms.com and look up "Cameron Diaz SNM." Warning: there's nudity and if you're a true Cameron fan, you'll probably wind up disappointed that she would choose to do such raunchy work. Again, I think she's a twit.

14I love Cameron, I think she's gorgeous, and she has absolutely appeared to be the same size for a long time. I think she is a positive role model for young women.
15Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black? Naturally skinny or starving skinny, it's hard to tell. When Cameron was modeling, she was at least 15 lbs heavier than she is now and she looked naturally thin then. She's skinny and to point attention to other "super skinny" celebs is just drawing attention away from herself. I seriously doubt that people turn 30 and their metabolism speeds up. Regardless of why or how she's skinny, her BMI is still under 18.5 and teenage girls use her as motivation to starve themselves just like they use Nicole, Kate or Paris...and the only one skinnier than her here is Nicole and not by much when you account for height differences.

30I dont think it matters if she is "naturally" thin or not. who the hell cares if she works for her body (a la kate beckinsale) or if she just sits and is thin (a la paris hilton). I like how Cameron emphaszies that women are women and we all struggle for an idealistic shape regardless if we want to gain weight in the "right places" or lose it in those same places... we are all struggling, so just suck it up and realize you are beautiful as you are.

33Believe it or not, there IS such a thing as 'naturally skinny', and believe it or not, many naturally thin girls DO wish they were more voluptuous, (I should know, I'm one of them). Basically, it all boils down to the fact that most people want what they don't have. I find it hurtful when people expect me to keep my mouth shut on the fact that I believe having curves is healthier and more attractive than being stick thin, as in 'It's easy for you to say', which is what some people seem to be saying about Cameron. Just because Cameron is a skinny celeb, doesn't mean that she shouldn't be able to spread awareness about eating disorders ect. She's doing a good thing, and I wish more people would recognize that!

I'm the one lone person who actually kinda likes Cameron. I liked her in the Holiday, and I think she's really pretty on screen. Yeah, she can be annoying, but there are so many other more nasty celebs (Lohan, Parasite) who I think are more deserving of the public's wrath. Just my opinion.
